This was an extremely satisfying trip. Every aspect was seamlessly integrated. The scenery along the way and the food recommended by the driver were all incredibly unique, and the prices were very reasonable. There was absolutely no shopping involved, making it a truly pure travel experience. I used to hear all sorts of negative things about Yunnan, but after experiencing it firsthand, I realized those were all one-sided opinions. The travel time to and from Jingmai Mountain was well-planned. Although the mountain roads are winding, the driver remained steady throughout, and the service was excellent. However, I personally felt that Jingmai Mountain's marketing strategy was flawed. It didn't focus on the tea culture of the ancient tea forests; we even had to ask the driver to take us to the important exhibition center in Huimin Town. Instead, it emphasized a very small ancient village.

Decided to book this tour last minute. Host contacted us through trip.com and then we communicated through WeChat to agree on a pick up place within Gaozhuang and timing. Initially I thought pick up would be really early but we were picked up around 8am and we were able to enjoy the hotel breakfast. Upon arrival at the beginning of the trail, we were provided with a pair of rain boots which is easential for the trekking. Waddling on the stream is fun. Along the trek the mountain guide explained plants that are edible. At the end of the trek approximately 3 hours later, we were presented with a simple lunch. We were drove back to the hotel around 1pm. The experience was enjoyable and fun. Not too taxing.

The driver and guide were professional and reliable, arriving early to wait for us and thoughtfully providing Cantonese background music. During the trip, they provided detailed explanations of the local customs and culture, demonstrated their familiarity with local road conditions, and drove smoothly. They also enthusiastically recommended authentic local delicacies. The service was attentive and heartwarming throughout, making for an excellent experience. Seeing the sea of ​​clouds was truly satisfying.

It was indeed quite interesting. A bit tiring, though. The Hani people in the village were very hospitable; we even had lunch cooked by them. It was a bit hot, though. There weren't many mushrooms left. But there were still some pleasant surprises in the little things. The driver made me carsick. In the afternoon, I sampled some old-tree tea. Although it's not something I need, I still bought some.
