The Mutianyu Great Wall, located 73 km from downtown Beijing, is renowned as "the most spectacular section of the Great Wall." Stretching 5,400 m, it stands as China's longest Great Wall segment and ranks among Beijing's top sixteen scenic spots. Originally constructed in 1368 (the first year of the Hongwu reign in the Ming Dynasty) under the supervision of General Xu Da, a commander under Zhu Yuanzhang, it was built upon the ruins of the Northern Qi Dynasty's Great Wall.
