Excellent hotel near the beach with responsive staff!
I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in February 2026. I had a Deluxe room with a garden view (more precisely, a view of the 'backyard' – a path to the beach). I didn't regret it – it could get very noisy and loud by the pool sometimes. The room was quite spacious with a large bathroom. Everything was meticulously clean before check-in. The mattress, bedding, and towels were good.
Room cleaning, towel changes, and replenishment of water and tea sets were done by arrangement.
The room had a refrigerator, a kettle, and a tea/coffee set that was regularly restocked. The shower gel, shampoo, and body lotion were nice and pleasant. Hot water was always available.
There were few power outlets in the room, and the hotel didn't have adapters, so I had to buy my own.
Every day, two 0.5-liter bottles of water were provided.
The Wi-Fi was very weak and constantly disconnected, so I used mobile internet instead.
The hotel grounds – the paths, lobby, and pool area – were very green, pleasant, and full of flowers, looking very appealing.
The room had its own terrace with chairs and a table behind a green hedge – a nice spot to sit, read, and drink coffee (though there were many mosquitoes at night).
The path from the hotel to the beach was almost entirely sand, so you could walk barefoot to the sea (but carefully). It passed through trees and bushes, where I saw various beautiful birds and monkeys during the day. Returning along this path after sunset wasn't very pleasant. However, right at the entrance to the hotel area, there was a tap for washing feet. There were security cameras around the perimeter of the hotel.
I swam more often at the neighboring hotel, where a net marked the swimming area to protect against boats and jet skis. Overall, the beach was pleasant, with a sandy and comfortable entry into the water. Occasionally, jellyfish and other marine life would appear, but that's just luck of the draw.
There were many cafes with various options around the hotel.
I really enjoyed the breakfasts at the hotel – there was a good selection, and a new dish was offered every day. The fruits were excellent.
Overall, the hotel left a very pleasant impression!
I recommend it and would return here again.

Overall, our stay at Pelangi Beach Resort in Langkawi was pleasant, but it did not fully meet the expectations of a five-star property, especially considering the price.
The resort itself is beautiful in terms of location: the gardens are well maintained, and the beachfront is very enjoyable. However, the structure is starting to feel a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment.
Our main disappointment was the room condition. The curtain next to the air conditioning unit was in very poor shape—stained and almost moldy—which was quite off-putting. The air conditioning system itself seemed old, very noisy, and difficult to regulate, making it hard to find a comfortable temperature (either too cold or too warm).
On a positive note, the staff was truly outstanding—everyone was kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful throughout our stay. Service is definitely a strong point of this resort.
Breakfast was also enjoyable, particularly at the Malaysian restaurant, where the food quality felt more authentic and satisfying.
In conclusion, while the experience was overall good, the resort feels somewhat overpriced for what it currently offers. With some improvements and updates, it could truly match its five-star positioning. At this price point, however, we would probably consider other options next time.

The hotel itself is well located and has a certain charm. The furniture is quite old, but in a way it adds character to the place. The staff we interacted with were generally kind and polite.
However, we had a very upsetting experience with the Ramadan buffet restaurant.
We arrived at the hotel around 6:00 PM after a long day of travel with two flights (Phuket to Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi). My mother had been fasting all day for Ramadan and had not eaten or drunk anything.
When we saw that the restaurant was preparing the Ramadan buffet, my mother sat down hoping to break her fast there. Unfortunately we were refused and told that reservations had to be made one day in advance.
This was very surprising for us, as we had just arrived in the country and could not possibly have reserved the day before.
We were directed to another nearby restaurant, but after waiting more than one hour we still had not received any food. During that time my mother — who had been fasting all day — still had nothing to eat, and my two-year-old child was crying because he was hungry.
In the end, my mother was only able to eat about two hours after the time of breaking the fast.
Aside from this very difficult experience, the hotel itself is pleasant and the staff are friendly. However, I hope the management will consider being more flexible and understanding in situations like this, especially for guests observing Ramadan and families traveling with young children.

Online reviews mentioned that staying in Kuah Town would be quieter, but since it's surrounded by seafood restaurants and roads, there were still motorcycle noises around 11 PM or 12 AM. However, it didn't bother us late sleepers, and it quieted down even later. In comparison, Pantai Cenang, being by the sea, would be much quieter. The room felt like an older 4-star hotel. I stayed in a twin room the first night and a king room the second, and for 300, it was generally good value for money. There's an I-Bing bubble tea shop nearby with delicious taro milkshakes, and it's also very close to Wonderland. Parking is very convenient and free.

The hotel overall was quite decent. The family room was spacious, which made the stay comfortable for us, and the location was convenient as well.
However, the bed was too hard for our liking, which affected our sleep quality. The biggest issue, though, was a shocking experience—we had a baby snake enter our room. It really scared us, even though it was small.
Because of this, I would say the hotel might appeal more to those who enjoy being close to nature and don’t mind the occasional surprise. For others, especially families with young children, it may not be the most suitable choice.

This resort-style hotel truly embodies a Southeast Asian vibe, boasting beautiful pools and a garden with stunning scenery, where squirrels 🐿️ and birds leisurely forage on the lawn. Although the room facilities are a bit dated, they are still clean and tidy. On our first day, we noticed the bathroom sink wasn't draining properly, and after reporting it to the front desk, someone was sent to fix it immediately. Watching the sunset from a lounge chair on the hotel's beach in the evening was the most enjoyable part of the day. There are quite a few restaurants around the hotel, and while it's not as bustling as Cenang Beach, it's perfect for travelers seeking peace and quiet. (Even if you want to go to Cenang Beach, it's very close – about a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute taxi ride). Highly, highly recommended for those on a budget who want to experience authentic Southeast Asian charm! 👍🏖️🌴🌴

The hotel and the surrounding is ok. Close and have access to beach. Unfortunately, room is quite small, and the tv has very poor signal. When i complained, the counter said, the issue was not faced by me, it was a common issue with all rooms, and the hotel is in the process to rectify it. I am.sure the issue is not new. How could they just close one eye. The breakfast is just ok, nothing extra. I had asked for late checkout (by 1 pm) and the hotel.said ok the night before. But around 11.45 am and 1230 pm, i received 2 separate calls asking me to check out. When i told them i was granted checkout until 1pm..they said thwy were not aware. Therw was no note. So the hotel has a lot to imrove.
The tv is not a smart tv also. So nothing u cam do. With no.channel, the only option was to turn it ofc

The service is good and the staffs are very friendly. We were a group of 6 and a 2 yo toddler. We love the place and the vibes. Just the cleanliness of the room can be improved.
When we checked out I’ve seen the staff cleaned our rooms for next guest. But they just changed the bedsheet and refill all the necessaries but thorough cleaning should be done before for example all the cabinets and flooring.
Maybe it’s hard as well cause the houses are made of wood and it’s harder to clean. So you have to wear hotel slippers in the room and it’s fine. Just that we have a toddler and they just tend to run around barefoot.
Overall everything is great. Would recommend couples, solo travellers and families group but without kids would be ideal.

A very tranquil spot in tropical woods away from noise, for those travelers who come to chill, enjoy the nature, inhale the ascent of flowers. Breakfast is a bit poor, light and generally good. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful. The beach is about 10 min. walk, clean and white sandy. There are some cafes around, also a Hot24hrsMart, and one truly recommended restaurant at Bobi’s. You may rent a scooter or e-bike not far, or a mountain bike at the hotel for RM 20 a day. Enjoy your stay! Stay calm!
This family-friendly hotel is absolutely fantastic! Paired with the beautiful Langkawi weather, it made for the best part of our trip. We stayed for two nights during the Chinese New Year holiday with my whole family, including seniors and kids, in a family suite which was a standalone wooden chalet. The hotel environment is excellent, nestled between mountains and water, and it's also right next to the SkyCab, so you could easily spend two days just exploring the area. We also booked an island hopping tour through the hotel, which was convenient, good value, and a great experience. We'll definitely come back next time we have a chance. A special mention to Sofie at the front desk – she was incredibly nice and gentle, providing an excellent check-in and check-out experience for guests. The hotel's Thai restaurant is great, followed by the Malaysian restaurant. We didn't go to the Chinese restaurant; I just glanced at the menu and decided against it. It felt like over 80% of the guests here were Caucasians, and the overall atmosphere, including at check-in and on the beach, was very peaceful.

GGuest UserThe rooms are located on a private, secluded island, just a ten-minute boat ride from Langkawi's Cenang Jetty. There's an hourly boat service for transfers, and a dedicated meeting point at Cenang Jetty, which is very thoughtful. We booked a king-sized bed and paid an extra 110 per day, including breakfast, for a child's additional bed. We explored the island on our own and noticed some abandoned facilities that looked like they used to be part of another hotel. Contrary to some reviews, the hotel didn't offer a daily 8:30 AM guided trek for guests; you either walk by yourself or hire a guide for 120 MYR. If you walk alone, you're warned about an 800 MYR rescue fee if anything goes wrong. The name 'Trip.com' (携程) sounds enticing, but honestly, Langkawi's ecosystem is generally very good; I think Trip.com's descriptions might be a bit exaggerated. We followed old signposts to Red Rock Beach, where there's a cave, saw many pitcher plants and hornbills, and even met a French couple heading back. We had to turn back quickly ourselves, worried about the rising tide, as it was getting late. This beach, unfortunately, was quite littered, and even the private island didn't seem well-maintained.
The hotel grounds are like a garden with many monkeys; apparently, you can feed them peanuts at specific times. Staff often chase them away. The hotel's coastline isn't very long, and the water is crystal clear in the morning. There are corals but hardly any fish, though we saw many sea cucumbers and hermit crabs. Food on the island is definitely pricier than in Langkawi and not particularly tasty, just passable. There's a convenience store on the jetty where we even had an instant pizza. Hiking on the island was quite interesting; it took us over two hours round trip.

NNiliudashuLocation, convenience, beach, ambiance, rooms, entertainment, dining – there's hardly anything to complain about. If I had to nitpick, first, there are too few designated smoking areas! Second, the rooftop infinity pool is strictly for guests aged 18 and above, which feels quite unreasonable. Many guests come with their families, and it's not like you can just ditch your kids to go for a swim. This policy excludes many from enjoying the experience.
For breakfast, try to go early and grab a seat near the water for a great experience.
The hotel is situated on Cenang Beach, which has very fine sand. The water isn't crystal clear, but it's acceptable.
The room's minibar offers a good variety of drinks, plus two small snack bags that are refilled daily by the staff.
You absolutely MUST choose a sea-view room. We opted for the Premium Sea View, which had an L-shaped sofa on the balcony. I actually slept there one night, facing the ocean, under the moonlight, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves – it was absolutely wonderful.
The room was also spacious enough, nearly 70 square meters, making it very comfortable for a family of three.
The gym doesn't have a huge variety of equipment, but it's sufficient and open 24 hours. There are two pools: one for adults and one for all ages.
Regarding food, the hotel has several restaurants, and there's also a beach BBQ with a fire dance show for 198 per person, which isn't expensive. It's also not far from Zhong Hua Seafood Restaurant and Hidden Bar, making dining very convenient. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Langkawi.
GGuest UserThe resort was better than we anticipated, after reading some of the reviews. The location is excellent and the room a decent size. The breakfast was great and the restaurant served lovely food and drink at affordable prices. Don’t miss the happy hour to get tiger beer special!!
Cleanliness could be improved upon and the general upkeep needs some money putting in. The staff are helpful and willing but some could benefit from extra training to be more efficient and more pro-active ie, clearing tables and clearing empty glasses from beach . Reception were extremely helpful when a trip we had booked nearly turned into a disaster. They called the number in Singapore for us and helped to sort the issue.
Loved the nature around the place and the resort has such potential for great things. Some board games in the reading/ sitting area is a suggestion.
The check in/out is a bit weird and long so bear with.
GGuest UserBook sea view studio at a higher price due to the Chinese New Year holidays. Waited for almost 2 over hrs before room is ready when close to 3pm. However was very disappointed when check into room n as seaview studio room on 7th floor is blocked by a hill in the center n major construction looking down from the balcony. Request for a change of room to higher floor, view rooms on 2 other higher floors and finally settled on the 11th floor which is a better seaview eventot the hill in front with construction site is still there. Would rate the hotel only at probably 4 stars or below with average rooms furnishings , average spread breakfast, spots bad maintained cleanliness over the public areas n a rooftop which is squeezing all sunbathe chairs n tables n a bar with an average size swimming pool. Reception staffs are not as well trained but they are trying their best to fulfill most guests queries. The rooftop is quite windy but offers good photo view. This hotel should be relatively new only opened a few years ago but idoesn’t match the prices of a 5 stars or 5 diamonds rated.

GGuest UserI admit this hotel is a bit old, so it's not as modern as newly built ones. But when you're in Langkawi, an island style just isn't going to be super modern. However, the hotel's environment and service are excellent. The restaurant and pool are right next to the beach, so having breakfast every day with a sea view is just amazing. The frangipani flowers, which are the hotel's namesake, are everywhere inside the hotel, along with many other beautiful plants and a variety of birds singing. I highly recommend staying here!
BBrian.WZHI booked a 2-night stay with my Mrs in one of the villas connected to the shared pool, and our experience started off on a great note. We were picked up from the airport in a very comfortable Toyota Alphard arranged by the resort. Our driver and resort staff, Khai, was incredibly friendly—he patiently answered all my questions and gave us fantastic food recommendations since it was my first time in LGK.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Daniel at the lobby. He served us beautifully presented lemon peach teas as a welcome drink and brought us through the entire check-in process.
While waiting for our villa to be ready, we had lunch at the resort’s only restaurant. Unfortunately, this was the only part of the stay that fell short—the pizza crust was undercooked, a bit greasy, and tasted store-bought, which was quite disappointing.
Thankfully, things picked up again after that. Khai later escorted us to our villa, and we were relieved that our balcony didn’t directly face the restaurant. However, I do feel the pool and villa balconies could be designed to offer more privacy so diners aren’t looking out over the area.
Overall, the stay was truly pleasant. I loved that the resort is away from the busy beach, giving us a peaceful and quiet environment. All the staff were warm and friendly.
A few standout perks include:
1. Complimentary rides to and from the property (subject to booking and availability)
2. Free minibar, replenished daily—including coffee capsules
3. Complimentary Netflix and YouTube accounts on the TV (which both my wife and I really love)
4. A pretty decent in-room breakfast experience. (they definitely do breakfast better than lunch, in my opinion)
I also indulged in a 90-minute massage, which started with herbal tea, grapes, and a carrot stick during a herbal foot bath, followed by a foot massage and a one-hour full-body aromatherapy massage. My masseuse, Yaya, was incredibly patient and attentive, constantly checking on the pressure and even gifting me a small goodie bag at the end.
All in all, I wouldn’t mind returning—and I’m even considering trying one of their larger 3-room villas next time. I highly recommend this resort for big families, couples, or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
Lloverose2004The hotel facilities were newer and better than I expected. The staff were very polite and attentive, patiently answering all our questions, making us feel right at home. The scenery is also beautiful, perfect for relaxing and unwinding at the hotel – exactly the kind of vibe we love. The only downside was that our room was close to the lobby, and the singing at night went on until 11:30 PM, which was too loud.
