A very stylish Danish hotel. We arrived late at night and it looked quite nice with the lights on. There will be mist in the early morning of winter, which makes it difficult to take pictures. The room we booked has a very high ceiling and is quite comfortable. But the indoor stove didn’t work, and it wasn’t very good because I didn’t know how to use it. The bread for breakfast was from Olsen and it was pretty good.

My stay at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles was quite a unique experience. I absolutely loved the grand historic architecture—the building is stunning and full of old-world charm, making it feel like stepping back in time.
However, some aspects of the stay were less impressive. The breakfast was a bit underwhelming and repetitive, and it was sometimes difficult to get help from the staff. I often had to go down to the reception myself to get a bottle of water each day, which was inconvenient.
The location was also not ideal for first-time visitors to the city. The surrounding downtown area did not feel very comfortable to explore, especially at night, and compared to other downtown areas we have visited, it felt less welcoming and not safe.
The hotel definitely has a very distinctive atmosphere—beautiful, historic, and at times a little strange and eerie, especially in the basement area where the pool and gym are located, which adds to its character. Overall, it was an interesting stay mainly because of the incredible architecture and history of the place.f

This hotel is in a great location in Downtown LA. From LAX, I took the FlyAway bus ($12.75) and then two subway stops ($1.75, flat fare) to Pershing Square, and it was just across the street. There's a paid outdoor parking lot opposite the hotel (I don't recommend renting a car in LA – traffic can be bad, parking is expensive, and California gas prices are high, around $2/liter. Public transport is only $1.75 per ride, with a $5 daily cap, and a $20 refill on a Tap Card is usually enough to get around LA).
Safety-wise, I'd say it's decent. It's in a transitional area between the more dangerous Skid Row and the safer Financial District in DTLA. I'd advise against coming back too late or wandering around at night. If you do come back late, it's best to take an Uber. If you're walking, try not to stare at the homeless, and don't engage if they talk to you. The hotel has a live front desk and security. You need to use your key card to enter after 6 PM and also to use the elevator. It feels very safe during the day, so you can confidently go out and explore. Theft and robbery aren't as prevalent in the US as some might think; you'll see plenty of people playing on their phones while waiting at traffic lights, and people carry their backpacks normally.
The hotel rooms, while not huge, have distinctive lighting. There's a tablet by the bed that allows you to activate a 'sleep mode' with one tap, and you can control the lights and TV channels through it, which is very cozy and comfortable. However, there's no kettle for hot water. For someone like me who likes hot drinks, you can go to the bar on the first floor and ask the staff for hot water for free. They also have various free tea bags. Coffee and alcoholic drinks are extra, though. If you don't feel like going out at night, ordering a drink and chatting with an American is a great way to experience the nightlife – Americans are really good conversationalists!
Everything about my stay was more than fine except for two issues. I had already informed hotel management that I would be proposing that night, and I specifically requested a non-connecting room with a decent view. Despite this, I was given a connecting room and placed next to a group of friends who were extremely loud throughout the night. I tried contacting the reception multiple times regarding the noise, but no one answered for nearly two hours, if not more.
I also experienced an issue at the restaurant during breakfast. I tried to explain to the waiter that my reservation already included breakfast for two people that day. He informed me that I could order anything from the menu. However, I was later surprised with a bill exceeding $100 and was then told that the breakfast-for-two benefit only covered $50 of the total.

Staying near West Hollywood, I received a $10 breakfast voucher upon check-in, which could be used towards my order. However, due to jet lag, I didn't get a chance to use it for breakfast. Before leaving, I asked the hotel staff to exchange the voucher for two lattes to go. The hotel was also very quiet, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering street views 🏙️. Downstairs, I even noticed the relaxed vibe of Californians on the street. If you find the hotel parking expensive, there are plenty of other parking lots nearby. It's worth looking around before you check in; you don't necessarily have to park your car at the hotel.
What a gorgeous place! We extended our stay as we loved it so much. The staff are excellent. They offer a high standard service and not a stone is left untouched. The place was immaculate and attention to detail was impressive. We loved it and will certainly be back.

This hotel must have been recently renovated as the facilities are brand new. The room's lighting, music, temperature, and curtains can all be controlled via an iPad. The hotel is also very close to the subway station and the starting point of the cable car.

Very classic, elegant and beautiful place, the accommodations are on the small side for the US. The location is excellent and the historical significance will be more attractive than the newness of the facilities.
It is undeniable that it is an old hotel, but the service is excellent. The number of sockets and facilities in the room have kept up with the needs of modern travelers. At the same time, it also retains decorations that show signs of time, and it feels very classic.
For parking, it is recommended to park in the public parking lot next door. The price is 30 US dollars for 24 hours, but if you park in the hotel, it costs 75 US dollars for one night.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Union Square and the cable car, with very few homeless people around. It's super convenient for getting in and out. The Japanese-style breakfast is light and not greasy. The facilities are good, the room is spacious, and it feels clean and safe. My only complaint is that I was already struggling with jet lag and lack of sleep, and then the room alarm went off in the early hours of the morning, which was incredibly annoying. It shows a clear lack of attention to detail in the hotel's management.
