Romantic Hotels in Melaka, Malaysia

We are a family of 5 adults visiting Melaka for my mom's 96th birthday celebration with her family and friends living n Melaka. We had the family suite - 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. *Reception lobby has an overwhelming smell that is disgusting. *Bathrooms: the tiles in the bathroom are moldy and falling apart with makeshift patchu. Bath towels had a funny smell and had seen better days. We had no choice but to replace the while towels with the blue-striped pool towels. * Kitchen - a skeleton setup with sink, microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee maker. Basic amenities like one would expect in a kitchen such as stovetop, dish washing liquid, kitchen hand towels, crockery and utensils are missing. The microwave is filthy. We have to use the white hand towels that guests would normally use in the bathroom to dry our hands in the kitchen. We had to request room service to clean the filthy microwave, provide plates and utensils for us to eat out take-out food, along with dish washing liquid to wash our dirty dishes. Pictures speak a thousand words. Hotel is connected to a Mall - Shore that is deserted. Foot traffic is at its all time low. Mall is dimly lit ... a HUGE contrast to AEON. I would not recommend this hotel. Sorry.

We made a last-minute booking, and the price was affordable considering the room condition. One good point is the large bathtub, which was nice. However, the bathroom layout is a bit unusual as it is located in the middle of the unit. To reach the bedroom, you need to cross the bathroom/bathtub area, and after showering the floor becomes very wet, which is inconvenient. The hot water system was another downside. It takes about 10 minutes for the water to turn hot, and after a short while it becomes cold again. We had to turn it off and wait before getting hot water again. Check-in was smooth and instructions were clear, which is a plus. Overall, the stay was acceptable for a short stay.

The blend of bold, unique design and highly functional features—like the spacious, clean rooms, comfortable café, and reliable service—makes The Rosa Malacca a standout choice. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Melaka who is looking for a stylish, comfortable, and well-managed base.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 10-minute walk to the iconic Red Square. Our room faced the sea, offering clear views of the beautiful Straits Mosque, which looked especially stunning at night with its constantly changing colored lights. There are plenty of dining and shopping options nearby; across the road, there's an authentic and delicious Nyonya restaurant. I particularly enjoyed the hotel's swimming pool and sauna; it was so relaxing to go from a swim to a sauna session. Malacca is a wonderful place for a vacation, especially the weekend night market, which is great for eating and drinking. There's so much delicious food! The hotel breakfast was also very rich. The only drawbacks were that the hotel facilities are a bit old, there was no power outlet next to the bedside table for charging, and the bathroom door design had some issues. The service was alright.

A lovely heritage building tastefully refurbished - situated within a 15 minute walk from the centre of this UNESCO World Heritage site. Rome was clean and comfortable. Elegant lounge reminiscent of colonial times. Attentive and helpful staff at reception and restaurant - special mention of Mr Saddam at the restaurant and Miss Ei Ei at reception. A lovely place in which to stay when visiting Melaka.

The Room & Amenities The room itself was spacious and featured a balcony, which was a nice touch. However, the amenities are very basic and ”no-frills.” Regarding service, don't expect much. We noticed housekeeping cleaning the room next door, but they never checked in to see if we needed anything. It seems housekeeping is strictly upon request or non-existent for short stays. The Elevator Crisis (The Dealbreaker) The biggest issue here is the infrastructure. There are only 4 lifts to service 41 floors, which is mathematically impossible during busy periods. • Wait Times: We waited nearly 35 minutes just to get to the ground floor or carpar. • Check-out: We tried to beat the rush by leaving early, and it still took over 40 minutes to get a lift that wasn't full. • Management Issues: To make matters worse, 2 of the 4 lifts were being operated manually, meaning they rarely stopped at middle floors like ours (Level 21). We were essentially trapped while lifts passed us by already full. Final Verdict If you are staying here, be prepared to factor in an extra hour just for vertical travel. There is a Sky Deck that likely adds to the traffic, making the wait times unbearable. Due to the poor lift-to-guest ratio, I won't be returning. It’s simply not worth the frustration.

I decided to stay at this hotel for the  second time due to its convenient location and affordable online booking rate at Trip booking.There are Mc D behind n the restaurants also reachable, I mean within walking distance. The staff are very friendly , the room is clean , well decorated n the facilities are well maintained.The staff attended n response to our complaints immediately.Late check out with affordable price. Have complimentary drinks served at d lobby. However , the quality of the room door needs  to be improved .

The hotel is great, with a rustic, natural decor. Even though my room didn't have a window, it felt perfectly fine. A small river runs behind the hotel, so you can enjoy the breeze and the night view by the river in the evening.

Hotel is situated in A Famosa. Well maintained with friendly manager Saiful who did his best to help my family with our needs However the only regret is that being a GHA Titanium member and having booked via trip.com I could not enjoy all the Titanium privileges. My GHA application has a bug since a while Overall the hotel is clean, good breakfast with dedicated waiters. Thanks @Saiful for helping to sort out a nearer room for my parents

This 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms with 3 queen beds. It's just nice for 6 people to sleep comfortably. New, clean and tidy. Well equipped with basic kitchenware and tableware. Airconds, fans, refrigerator, cooker, microwave, kettle and washer all function well. Swimming pool with great sea view. Kid friendly playground. Basketball court and game room need to booking. Kids had fun playing table tennis. The mini pool sticks were broken cannot play. The security staff was very helpful to assist us to book the room. Agent was very responsive too. Overall very good service. Best price and quality stay. Recommended. Thanks.
