Romantic Hotels in Melaka State, Malaysia

"My stay was lovely. Before booking, I spent some time reading the reviews to get an idea of what to expect. I was genuinely concerned that I might encounter dirty sheets or towels, or a room that hadn't been cleaned properly. Thankfully, those concerns proved to be completely unfounded. The soundproofing was also something I was concerned about, so we were prepared for some noise. It was exactly as described in the reviews - the pitter-patter of footsteps from the room above, people walking past our room, and the merrymaking from groups in the foyer. The room did come equipped with complimentary earplugs, but unfortunately I'm not a fan of using them, so I simply waited for the noise to die down each night. The check-in staff were wonderful, and I'd especially like to thank Miss Izza (although I never had the opportunity to meet her in person). I had to momentarily withdraw from the trip at the last minute, and she kindly helped make the necessary arrangements for my partner to take over the booking instead. Her assistance made what could have been a stressful situation completely seamless. I also had some ice packs that needed to be kept frozen, and the hotel staff happily assisted. The room was comfortable, and I slept incredibly well—better than I do in my own bed at home. Our only gripe was the parking. The hotel's parking lot is a short walk away, which wasn't ideal in the heat. Also, the road leading to the hotel is one-way, so if you miss the entrance, you'll need to make roughly an 8½-minute loop (during off-peak hours) to get back. It's a minor inconvenience, but worth keeping in mind if you're driving. Jonker Street is only a 5–6 minute walk away, so if that's your primary destination, this hotel is perfectly located."

"I had a very pleasant stay at Baba House Melaka and was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. I stayed on the ground floor and was pleasantly surprised that there was very little noise disturbance throughout my stay. The air-conditioning was excellent, which was especially appreciated in the hot weather, and the shower experience was fantastic — strong water pressure and very comfortable. The breakfast selection was enjoyable, and the location made it very convenient to call a Grab whenever needed. There were only two minor issues during my stay. I noticed a small area in the corner of the room that appeared to have some leftover sauce residue, possibly from a previous guest, and the bathroom sink drainage was slightly clogged. However, these were relatively minor compared to the overall positive experience. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, and I would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Melaka. Thank you to the team for the hospitality!"

"This is a charming boutique hotel, exuding a strong Malaccan Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style. The room decor is a delightful blend of European and Nanyang influences, with high-quality materials used throughout. The lobby and public areas feature beautiful and impressive marble, and even the bathroom fixtures in the rooms are top-notch. There's an elevator, which is a great plus, as many smaller hotels often prioritize aesthetics over convenience. The room isn't huge, but it has a balcony – though I didn't use it due to the heat. The air conditioning was excellent, and the shower water pressure was great. The towels weren't brand new, but I always bring my own anyway. The toiletries are L'Occitane, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is semi-buffet style; it has everything you need, and while not super extensive, it's quite good. Each room gets two complimentary coffees to take away daily. There was a male staff member, I think named NASIK, who was incredibly friendly and happy to chat with guests. He was very helpful with luggage and looked quite Chinese, leaving a great impression. Overall, this hotel is excellent. While not directly on the river, the location is still very convenient for exploring and experiencing the local culture. My only gripe is with Trip.com – I don't understand why the price was so high when I booked. I didn't keep an eye on it, and when I checked in, I realized booking on the same day would have been much cheaper. That's likely a platform issue, not the hotel's."
