Renovated in 2024, the Kangsang Youth Hostel (Potala Palace Jokhang Temple) is a great choice for accommodation in Lhasa. Traveling to the hotel is easy with Lasa Railway Station located approximately 9km away and Lhasa Gonggar International Airport roughly 60km away. With Lhasa Mosque, Barkhor Street and Shannan Minzhulin Temple all within a short distance, there is no shortage of things to do in the area. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. Our guests consider this hotel to have excellent service. For guests traveling alone, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

The hotel is conveniently located just 8km from Lasa Railway Station and 60km from Lhasa Gonggar International Airport. Keeping busy is easy, with Ramoche Monastery, Snow City, Potala Palace and Potala Palace all nearby. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This Lhasa hotel provides parking on site. According to our trusted guests, the facilities at this hotel are first-rate. This hotel is particularly popular with those traveling with friends.

"When I first arrived in Lhasa, I stayed at Jicai, primarily because of its cleanliness and its proximity to the Potala Palace and Barkhor Street. My experience after checking in was excellent. After my trip to Nyingchi and MĂȘdog, I booked Jicai again. If you experience altitude sickness, the lobby provides an oxygen concentrator, and the rooms even have diffused oxygen supply. I had wanted to try breakfast in Lhasa, so on my last day, I bought the hotel's breakfast and discovered their noodles (fen) are really good. I regretted not booking a room with breakfast included. If you're still debating whether to book breakfast, my advice is to go for it if you like sour and spicy noodles, because their breakfast noodles are delicious. Delicious, delicious! Front desk service was good, and honestly, Jicai offers great value for money. Highly recommended."

Service: The Brazilian BBQ at the restaurant was very generous, and a lovely lady provided excellent and attentive service. Environment: The hotel boasts a garden-style architecture with ******* characteristics seamlessly integrated. The old furnishings scattered throughout add a charming touch. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. The SPA was great. I experienced altitude sickness in Lhasa with body aches, and the massage provided significant relief. Highly recommended.

This hotel offers a perfect stay experience! The staff are attentive and thoughtful, and the rooms are spotless. The toiletries and bedding are of outstanding quality. The biggest surprise was the panoramic restaurant; its expansive views directly overlook the Potala Palace, allowing you to dine and enjoy the scenery simultaneously. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Lhasa!

The environment, facilities, services, and location are great  You can see the blue sky and white clouds when you open your eyes. There are menus of various restaurants in the inn, which can be delivered directly to the inn. Can you also be hungry? It will be delivered to the garden on the second floor. The rooms are clean and tidy, including the public areas. The inn has an elevator. After the check-in, the boss will still help to send the luggage to the room. It is a 5-minute walk from the Princess Wencheng to watch the show and a 10-minute drive to the Potala Palace. Recommend! recommend!

Overall, this hotel is quite good. Its location is very close to the Potala Palace, just a short walk away. It's also not far from Barkhor Street. Parking can be a bit challenging, requiring good driving skills. However, the security guard who directs parking is very nice. The service staff are quite enthusiastic. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and was the best hotel breakfast I had during my time in Tibet. I didn't experience the afternoon tea because we arrived at 7 PM. Free oxygen is available, and they even ask for your arrival time in advance and turn on the oxygen machine an hour or two before you get there. The rooms are equipped with a small tea table, which is convenient for tea drinking. In the hallway, there are various tea sets in a disinfected cabinet for guests to use. We also received some complimentary snacks in the room, which were quite good. I didn't get to experience the sleep aid package. All in all, if you're not driving in Lhasa and want to stay downtown, this hotel is a good choice.

Shangri-La Hotel, Lhasa

Many people, myself included, often debate between the St. Regis and the Shangri-La, as both hotels in Beijing are quite unremarkable. Ultimately, I chose the Shangri-La for its value for money. I had considered Songtsam too, but common sense told me to be a smart spender. Although the hotel shows its age, its architectural style is grand and refined, revealing luxurious material choices. Time has inevitably left its mark, but a classic car, even when old, is still a classic car. Moreover, service and quality require time to accumulate and withstand market scrutiny. While the Shangri-La may not have many existing locations, it still holds a strong market advantage, and it takes an discerning eye to appreciate it. My butler, Bowen, arranged my room before I even arrived. Looking out the window at the Potala Palace's silhouette in the distance immediately set the mood. He then meticulously delivered on all aspects of my package. I found Bowen to be a man of few words but very steady, highly responsive, and an exceptionally smooth driver. He never asked inappropriate or subjective questions, which I truly appreciated. Over three days, Bowen's accompaniment added a unique dimension to my Lhasa itinerary. Among the few Tibetans I've encountered, he was a definite plus. I sincerely wish him all the best in his work! The Shangri-La in Lhasa lives up to its brand's standards and enhances the reputation of its sister properties. I'm so glad I made the right choice; this will be a memorable and wonderful travel experience.

This hotel is absolutely stunning, with a rich ******* style that makes every photo-op a winner. Seeing so many international guests here shows how popular it is with tourists from all over the world. The front desk staff are incredibly warm and great communicators; they resolve issues quickly and even help guests pick out ******* clothing and enthusiastically assist with photos. If you book a day in advance, the hotel provides a private car service to major attractions, which is super convenient. On the second floor, there are complimentary massage chairs – perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing! And I have to mention the breakfast: *******, Western, and Chinese dishes, plus a great selection of fruits. It’s incredibly diverse, with handsome chefs freshly preparing ******* noodles, Chongqing noodles, pho, and rice vermicelli, catering to all tastes. If I had to choose again, I'd definitely stay here.

InterContinental Lhasa Paradise

I rarely leave reviews, but this time I absolutely have to. We booked three rooms for a two-night stay. First, I'd like to thank the InterContinental for upgrading one of our rooms to an executive room. However, this is, without a doubt, the worst InterContinental I've ever stayed at. Firstly, on our check-in day, we informed the front desk that we had an elderly guest who needed an oxygen concentrator. That machine rattled and clanked all night, making it impossible to sleep. The next day, when we asked if we could get a different oxygen tank, the butler actually told us that the hotel had no other equipment, essentially implying, 'Just deal with it.' On top of that, on the first night, there were people arguing loudly in the hallway, and not once did any hotel staff intervene. Secondly, on the second day, around 9:15 AM, I specifically called the front desk to ask for a light cleaning of the room. The front desk even asked if we wanted the sheets changed, and we said no. Yet, when we returned to the hotel around 6 PM, the room hadn't been cleaned. I called the front desk again and had to urge them three times before a staff member finally came knocking on our door, sluggishly. Upon entering, they complained, saying we had told them not to clean the room. I'd like to ask when and where the staff member ever saw anyone from our room, and who said not to clean the room? Is this how five-star hotel staff are trained – to complain to guests and get scolded by the front desk? Is this the InterContinental's service standard? On the second day, during checkout, I went to the front desk to ask for a bag to put some small items in. The front desk initially said, 'Go get it yourself from the concierge.' I just want to know, it's at least 60 meters from the front desk to the concierge; are guests supposed to go retrieve it themselves? I asked if it could be delivered to the front desk, and the staff said it would take a long time, and I should wait in my room. The result? I never got the bag even by checkout time. I ended up carrying a metal box out the main entrance, and the front desk staff didn't even offer an apology. I just want to ask, does this kind of service meet your standards? Which five-star hotel provides service like this? I really shouldn't try to save money next time. I'll stick to Shangri-La, honestly.

1. This is by far the best value, most comfortable, and tastiest hotel in Lhasa. I first stayed here during the Keriya Pass trip and was so impressed that I've returned every time since, and have even recommended it to friends. 2. The service is consistently excellent, the rooms are spacious, and they provide oxygen, humidifiers, and ample heating. The parking lot is also large. 3. The breakfast is incredibly diverse and genuinely delicious – it's got that authentic wok-hei flavor! It's far superior to many five-star hotels that offer variety but lack taste. They even provide convenient individual bread portions for takeaway. 4. I didn't have time to eat fruit at breakfast, so a lovely front desk attendant kindly packed a small box for me. So thoughtful! The fruit was sweet and fresh, and the quality was excellent. 5. Because of this Lhasa hotel, I now only consider staying at Pingcuo Kangsang hotels whenever I'm in Tibet. I truly recommend it!

The hotel surroundings are beautiful, and you can see snow-capped mountains right from your window đŸ”ïž. The staff were also very helpful, assisting with luggage throughout our stay 🧳. We even got a free airport pick-up and an extra drop-off service, which was a pleasant surprise. It's really hard to find satisfying food in Tibet, but the breakfast at this hotel was surprisingly delicious!
