Romantic Hotels in Shanxi, China

My experience staying at this hotel as below. 1. They provide pickup and drop off from the train station. The day before the Inn contacted me to make arrangement for the pickup. Then they arranged to drive me back to station on the day I leave. Service was efficient and prompt. Much appreciated. 2. I was able to use the washing machine to wash come clothes which was much needed. Comb and toiletries were provided. So grateful for these little necessities as I left mine at the previous hotel. 3. The boss upgraded me to a bigger and better room because it was the low season. The kang bed was so comfortable and firm. I had the best sleep so far at this Inn. I'm so happy. 4. The Inn is inside the old city and practically next to one of the city gates. Very convenient for sightseeing old Pingyao city. 5. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Boss also gave me a bottle of vinegar. Wish I could take it back to UK with me. 6. The price of this Inn is also very reasonable and affordable. 7. Pingyao is a beautiful, ancient old city. Worth coming. I highly recommend staying here. This hotel, located on a dedicated floor within an apartment building, truly exceeded our expectations in terms of design, service, and ambiance. My parents especially loved the complimentary afternoon tea and evening cocktails offered daily. The room's design and layout were very well thought out and practical. The WeChat concierge service was incredibly responsive and always ready to help! The location is fantastic, less than 2 km from the Shanxi Museum, and next to a shopping mall. We even caught a movie when it rained, and there are plenty of dining options nearby – super convenient!

Absolutely amazing! I was a bit worried about the noise since the hotel is right in the middle of a food street. When I checked in, I casually asked what time the food street closed, and the lovely lady at the front desk immediately upgraded us to a room on the parking lot side – totally quiet, not a sound! Honestly, just finding a hotel at this price in this area is a win, so I didn't have high expectations. But the front desk and concierge staff were all so wonderful and accommodating with every request. Definitely a five-star review! 🥰🥰🥰

The bedding was comfortable and the room design was reasonable, but the room had a noticeable smell of new renovations, and the facilities were generally unacceptable. Despite being advertised as a hotel built in 2025, the toilet sliding door was difficult to open, the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, the TV signal was poor and frequently froze and could not be projected, and the air conditioner made strange noises. It was simply impossible to associate this with the quality of a five-star hotel.

My stay at Futiandahua Rain Hot Spring Hotel was absolutely fantastic! First off, the location is superb, right inside the ancient city. It's super close to where they do the iron flower show, which, by the way, is an absolute must-see. I'm getting on in years, but watching that show brought tears to my eyes; I was so moved by the performers' dedication and the incredible spectacle they put on. It's clear the hotel owner pays incredible attention to detail. My two girlfriends and I stayed in a triple room, and from the moment we walked into the lobby, we were gushing over the hotel's ambiance, the staff, and the room's decor. Every little detail was thoughtfully done. Even when we were heading out to explore the ancient city, the front desk proactively offered us a pack of tissues to take with us. The room itself was a standalone unit, so it was incredibly quiet. They delivered coffee and afternoon tea daily, and the fruit plate in the room was fresh. There was also a cooler in the lobby with bottled water available for guests. The whole room was smart-enabled with XiaoDu (a smart assistant), and the shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable, with a separate wet and dry area. Oh, one small thing: the trash can in the bathroom was a bit too small; I hope they can improve that. The private hot spring was amazing. After a full day of sightseeing, coming back to soak in the hot spring and chat was just pure bliss.

Datong Yungang Hotel Review I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but Datong Yungang Hotel consistently ranks at the top for me. It truly lives up to its reputation as the best in the area. The overall decor is grand and stylish, with spacious and luxurious interiors that strike a perfect balance between opulence and elegance, without being over-the-top. The pricing is very reasonable, offering excellent value for money. The service is thoughtful and meticulous. The staff are responsive and attentive, making the entire experience comfortable. Room cleanliness is impeccable; every corner and all the linens are spotless and tidy. The breakfast buffet offers a vast selection, including a wide array of meats, vegetables, pastries, desserts, and local specialties, all of which taste great. The location is a major plus, less than two kilometers from Datong Ancient City, making it very convenient for exploring the area. Considering the comprehensive quality of its facilities, service, price, and location, it's definitely worth a second visit. This is my top recommendation for accommodation when visiting Datong!

This is my third time staying here, and I absolutely love this hotel! It's located right in the bustling Liuxiang area, making everything incredibly convenient – there are so many places to eat, shop, and hang out nearby. The hotel itself is spotless, and the staff at the front desk are fantastic. They even upgraded our room for free!

The room was well-equipped and spotlessly clean. This guesthouse is definitely the perfect choice for anyone visiting Pingyao Ancient City, especially those looking to experience the unique Shanxi courtyard style. Highly recommended!

The service was excellent, and there were plenty of parking spaces. They had thoughtful touches like a lighted makeup mirror, hooks on the bathroom door, a shoehorn, and even kids' utensils. The bidet toilet was a fantastic bonus! The welcome fruit and souvenir gift truly showed their attention to detail. Even the drinking water was high-quality. Plus, it's pet-friendly! I was incredibly satisfied with every aspect; it's comparable to, or even surpasses, a five-star hotel. Highly recommend! 🥰🥰🥰

First time in Taiyuan, I booked this hotel because it had a lake view. The environment is really nice, and there's a cafe on the same floor with a great view too. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. Although it's not in the city center, you can easily walk to Jinyang Lake for a stroll. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
