I wouldn't recommend staying at this hotel, at least not for the price I paid – around $45 USD. For $20 USD, I've stayed in much better conditions on Panglao, with my own terrace in front of the room and two pools. Here are my reasons: 1. Moldy smell in the room. 2. The windows and view were awful. They looked like they'd never been cleaned, and honestly, there's no point when your view is a wall. 3. Everything in the room was old, and the plumbing was peeling. It's puzzling why they'd put in a fancy toilet in such a dilapidated room. 4. The water had an odor, and the pressure wasn't great. 5. They gave us a room on the 3rd floor, and the constant going up and down was not pleasant. 6. The pool was nominal, just for show. It's tiny, really only suitable for kids. 7. As for the food, it's there, and if you're not picky, you can have breakfast. But it was the same every day, and the meat delicacies and fish looked terrible. The purple sausages were surreal. On the positive side: 1. The location is convenient, and there's a spacious parking area for motorbikes. 2. There's a refrigerator in the room.

However, my biggest concern was the Wi-Fi connection. I stayed for a week and experienced connectivity issues throughout my entire stay. I also found that some of the staff in the dining area were not very welcoming. While not everyone was unfriendly, a few crew members came across as dismissive and seemed to have an attitude when interacting with guests. Customer service is an important part of the hotel experience, and I hope management can provide additional training to ensure all guests feel welcomed and valued. Overall, the hotel has good facilities and cleanliness standards, but the Wi-Fi issues and inconsistent customer service affected my experience.

Although there was some ongoing construction during our stay, it wasn't a major issue since we were out most of the day for our island activities, and the work had already stopped by the time we returned each afternoon. We also enjoyed dining at their restaurant. The food was delicious, and we appreciated that the chef personally came over to ask how we liked our meals. My only suggestion would be to add more menu options, as the resort is quite far from restaurants and convenience stores. Having a wider selection would be especially helpful for guests staying several days. The staff were all friendly, accommodating, and approachable. Overall a very good resort, located on the main road close to all the action and night life. They provide a free tuk tuk to take you to a particular place on this road whether it is a restaurant or the Cloud nine beach. The resort has its own small beach. The villas have a fan and air con.. The bathroom has 2 showers, one inside and one outside which is nice.The shower heads though are due for decalcification to provide a good and comfortable shower. Be aware that villas that are located close to the road are quite noisy. Breakfast is buffet style and is served near the pool. If you arrive before the official check in time of 2pm and even if your villa is ready, you will have to pay an extra fee to get the key.

Kalipay is conveniently located along the main road, walking distance from CEV (the best ceviche in Siargao) and Happiness Bar (best happy hour deal). The resort is quiet, has a nice pool and the rooms are clean. The staff are amazing — friendly, accommodating and extra helpful. The receptionist, Kim, took really good care of us.

Pros: • hotel is new, they only opened last August • room was very spacious • beds, pillows, comforter were very comfortable • bathroom was very spacious with complimentary toothbrushes, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner • airconditioning was superb • room has a balcony (that we didn’t use) Cons • because it’s new, apparently their how shower has not been installed yet. But they provide hot water from the kitchen and will bring to the room in a pail 😂 • location is not ideal as it is a good 10-minute walk on a dirt road to get to the main tourism road • breakfast wasn’t impressive. The tapa and the tocino were tough. All in all, it’s still value for money. The entries crew were very friendly and accommodating. And I will still consider staying there next time.

Great stay in rucksack! Airconditioning is amazing, bunks are comfy + good location. 2nd time staying here already.
