KkonatahuThe most important thing to mention: it has a Japanese restaurant on-site! Very good news for Asian travelers.
One the international brand hotels on the island. Close to the airport and downtown. It also has a supermarket across the street.
The view is ok but nothing too special. It has a big swimming pool but no private beach.
All the rooms are in the main building. It does not have a private lagoon or any overwater bungalows.
Overall, it is a nice place to stay just for few days, especially if you need to catch a flight. However, if you are planning to spend most of your time on Tahiti, I recommend to consider a resort hotel.
GGuest UserThe hotel is really old, probably from the 1990s; especially the bathroom, the toilet breaks down as soon as you press it.
The hotel is not big and there is not much to do. When I went there, there were no projects on the shore because of the wind. I booked a tour around the island, but many places were closed due to strong winds. The strange thing is that it is understandable that outdoor places are closed, but why are museums also closed?
Hotel breakfast and dinner were average
If you want to stay on the main island, it is not as good as Hilton in terms of cost performance.
GGuest UserThey had some really great dishes in the restaurant. The rooms were reasonably good and most of the staff were very pleasant. If you visit Tahiti it is a good idea to practice your French as it appears to be the primary form of communication. One thing we noticed was we understood there was a shuttle to the cruise ships and this communication was reversed so we paid for our own shuttle.
GGuest UserDefinitely opt for the overwater bungalows. The beach bungalows with private pools were a little worn down. The main pool was closed due to renovations and it was not supposed to be. The renovations were supposed to have been completed before our stay. That was a bummer and all they did was give us a $50 credit.
The lagoon and house reef is spectacular and so full of fish. All not motorized activities including kayaking and SUP are included. Very good buffet breakfast. The service was 3 star definitely not 5 star service. An absolutely fantastic location and go to happy hour for sunset.
AAnonymous UserAbout 10 minutes from the pier. There is a supermarket at the intersection. The room has a microwave and refrigerator. There is a swimming pool at the door. There are free-range strolling chickens in the yard.
YYingyingmaoThe hotel is not big, the environment is very good, and the service staff is also very enthusiastic. We are in a family room, which is divided into upstairs and downstairs, so you can sleep separately. It is very good for families with children. There is a buffet with Polynesian cultural dance in the restaurant on Wednesday night. The buffet is average and very expensive, not worth it. Everything else is good
GGuest UserWe had a very nice “luxury overwater bungalow” which was in good shape. The lagoon was a dream, you can directly enter from you terrasse and have plenty of fishes in the coral guarden. Yet we heard many complaints from other guests about the “superior overwAter bungalows” which seemed in not good shape.
Service felt like non-existing, especially as we were in StRegis Bora Bora before. As we and some others were arriving early, they parked us in the lobby area for several hours and also after several reminders did not manage to fill up coffee and water. (This Time could also be used to show people the Ressort or bring them to lunch as other hotels in this price area manage to do).
Breakfast was decent, but again very bad and slow service (with the only highlight being the customer crazy guy preparing your eggs and pancakes, sorry forgot his name he made my day). Getting your coffee or tea might take ages, sometimes not coming at all. They also took ages to remove used plates from tables, resulting in bird invasion everywhere.
Dinner was mediocre at best.
-no gym
-wireless is very bad and slow everywhere
Conclusion: lagoon is very beautiful, but overall experience in the hotel does by far not match the price level. They have to step up a lot!
