Hotel is really very nice, very cosy. A wee bit out for Aviemore if not driving. Didn't eat there but the large restaurant was well used for both breakfast and dinner so I assume all OK. There is a swimming pool although I didn't use this. Overall I didn't use the facilities but they were well used by others. The Woodshed, which is an external bar on the grounds is good, great pizza. The entertainment - a few nights in the hotel and one night in the woodshed - is fine. I would go to this hotel again.
Room was very good and clean but it turned out that you could hear every move of the people in the room above. At 6 am this particular person decided to do his 10000 steps a day in his room and it sounded as if an elephant was marching through. No way to continue your sleep so we ended up having to get up and we left the hotel at 7.15am. I had complained the night before but since the hotel was fully booked there were no other options. I was told it was because of the wooden structure so obviously it was a known issue and they should NOT book both rooms at same time.
They also had 2 dogs behind unmanned reception and one of them yapped continuosly for an hour whilst we had our dinner. As we finished dinner they started bringing out cornflakes etc for breakfast for the following morning and left this uncovered, thought this was very unhygienic.
Alcohol prices way too high too ( bottle of wine £35.50). All in all not a good experience and wouldn't recommend.
Good location however parking was very limited. We were staying 2 nights and didn’t manage to get a space resulting in us having to pay for parking when the website stated free parking it was a big factor in choosing this hotel. The decor is very dated and scruffy but rooms are clean. Rooms don’t get made up daily unless you request. The windows were very draughty resulting in us keeping the curtains drawn shut. The windows were obscured anyway so you couldn’t use them as a window so guess it didn’t matter. The staff on the desk were polite and efficient.
Very very good hotel on the best street of Inverness one can get, also the price was the steal deal, the staff was very helpful, also provided us the cutlery when requested and also unlimited free WiFi and water at reception, very good 4 star hotel rooms as expected, GYM AS OF START APRIL 2026 time was not available due to renovations work
Location was perfect, Decor in room requires freshening up, Back of the door and part of facings were fresh painted but not completed. Shower requires cleaning (Black mould just needs Bleaching ) and the plastic seals replaced They were yellowed with age. Staff were Very efficient and Friendly 😀
The recently renovated room was comfortable, the bed was a little on the firm side but we were still able to sleep.
The bathroom needs a better shower screen since the floor was soaked afterwards.
The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The bus full of rowdy American tourists woke us up as they departed for the day, but that was not the fault of the hotel.
The room is clean and comfortable, but there is no air-conditioning and it can be a little hot sometimes. The temperature sense is different in different rooms, you can ask the front desk. But it's fine to live in.
It's not as good as I thought, but it's not bad. It's a bit far to walk to the room. It's one of those hotels in a row. If you are in a different building, you have to walk a long way. The room is not bright enough, but the toilet is big.

YYiu Wai RaymondThe location is remote but the environment of this location is quiet. Therefore, it is still valuable to live at the place.
We have taken the dinner at the centre. All the foods were delicious and excellent and the price was quite reasonable.
I will select this accommodation if we go to highland again.
GGuest UserIt is said to be a very historical hotel. Just by the lake, the scenery is good. The door is the ferry boat, it is convenient to go to the other side, the car is 12 pounds once, people are free. Self-driving is OK, if you go to the town of Fort William, it is a bit around, and the ferry is much closer to the other side. There are no shopping and dining around.
The hotel room is relatively small, we 3 people, a double bed, 1 bunk bed, 2 small rooms, the bathroom is also very small, the corridor is like a maze.
Breakfast 8-10 is a way to order food. We chose breakfast with breakfast and also a point. Breakfast is not bad, recommended salmon scrambled eggs, Scottish salmon is delicious.
GGuest UserGreat Breakfast. Fantastic Staff and incredible location. Had dinner in the evening as well in the bar. Nice selection of simple Scottish food which was well cooked.
CCccccharlieOnly stayed for one night
Very convenient for driving.
But the hotel is remote, it will be troublesome if there is no car
And there are no street lights nearby at night, it will be a bit scary
But drive ten minutes directly to the nearby city center
Free parking downstairs, very good
There is no elevator in the hotel, you can only carry your luggage upstairs.
The hotel is self-check in
At the beginning, the password error needs to call the customer service phone to deal with the password problem before opening the door.
But the problem was solved soon.
