Pet Friendly Hotels in Shanxi, China

I was so touched! Right after I got off the high-speed train, the inn owner was already waiting for me by the roadside in his car. Since cars can't enter the ancient city gate, the owner switched to an electric scooter and continued to take me to the inn, free of charge. The proprietress helped me carry my luggage to the second floor, which I felt really bad about, but was deeply moved by! I absolutely love the style of this room. After check-in, the proprietress grabbed a map and meticulously explained tips for exploring Pingyao Ancient City and important details to note, making everything very clear. I love Shanxi; I felt such attentive care here. When it was time to leave, the owner offered to drive me to the high-speed train station again. I felt embarrassed and decided to leave early and take a taxi to the station myself, then informed the owner via WeChat. He immediately asked if I had gotten into the car yet, offering to drive me if I hadn't. Oh, I was so moved! I told him I had really gotten into a car and didn't need him to drive, wishing his business prosperity and continued success! For anyone planning a trip to Pingyao Ancient City, choose this place; it's very reliable, you won't go wrong!

Cosy historical building done up very nicely. Room was well renovated, owner super friendly and very accommodating, we asked for more water, toilet paper, different type of breakfast etc all happy to oblige. 10 minutes walk to light show, 10m walk to center of ancient city where most of the historical sites were. 10m walk to outside where the best food is..DO NOT eat inside the old city, food outside much better. Owner also arranged for car to take us to Wang Family compound and Shuanglian temple at much better price than I could find anywhere online. and private transfer to/from train station as well. Very happy I booked to stay at this location. Breakfast was EXCELLENT

Thanks to Nanshe, our trip to Datong was incredibly enjoyable and pleasant, offering a sense of security just like home. The guesthouse is located inside the ancient Datong city wall, which is an excellent location, making it very convenient to visit famous attractions and long-standing restaurants, all within walking distance. The room was clean, tidy, and well-arranged—small yet cozy. We even had foreign guests in the room opposite ours 😉. The two housekeeper sisters provided attentive and responsive service, always ready to offer advice. On our first day, they recommended the nearby Dongfang Xiaomian restaurant, a local favorite for sliced noodles; you can't go wrong with anything you order there! 😁 On our second day in Datong, we experienced a sandstorm, a rare experience for someone from the coast. We stayed at Nanshe for three days, and because of Nanshe, I fell in love with Datong.

This inn is located right in the heart of the ancient city, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and getting around. It's just a stone's throw away from major attractions like the County Government Office, the city walls, the Escort Agency, the Exchange House, and Xietongqing. Step right outside and you'll find a street full of delicious food, creative cultural shops, and bars. Despite being so central, it's very quiet at night. The rooms are well-equipped, and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Nestled within the scenic area, at the end of a hundred-meter-long alley, this courtyard-style hotel offers a tranquil escape amidst the bustling surroundings. Its classic Chinese design beautifully reflects traditional Northern Chinese architecture, perfectly complementing the ancient city's charm. The rooms are fully equipped, even featuring a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary bottled water, Sprite, Coke, bananas, apples, tea, coffee, paper cups, and disposable face towels. A tea set is also provided, adding a cozy, home-like touch. The courtyard is adorned with lush greenery, seating, and picturesque landscaping, ideal for sunbathing. At night, it transforms with brilliant lights, creating a unique and enchanting ambiance. It's about a 10-minute walk from the ancient city's North Gate parking lot, with dedicated staff available to assist with luggage. Surrounded by numerous shops, it offers incredible convenience for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. The staff are warm, friendly, and provide excellent service. Overall, it's a fantastic guesthouse within the ancient city.

The biggest surprise of my trip to Pingyao Ancient City was staying at the Red Lantern Guesthouse. Stepping into the ancient courtyard with its grey bricks and gently swaying red lanterns, I instantly felt transported back to the charming old days of a Jin merchant's compound. The guesthouse boasts an excellent location, tucked away in the heart of the ancient city. It's a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling streets, within walking distance of the City Tower, Ming and Qing Street, and all the major banks and escort agencies, making exploring the ancient city incredibly convenient. The historic courtyard retains its authentic Jin style, with beautifully carved beams reflecting the lantern light, creating an elegant and secluded atmosphere. The rooms are clean and tasteful, equipped with all modern amenities, including separate wet/dry areas and smart toilets. It's a perfect balance of old-world charm and contemporary comfort. What truly stood out was the incredibly thoughtful service from the staff. For those arriving by car, they arrange a shuttle service to and from the parking lot, saving you the hassle of dragging luggage over cobblestone streets. The housekeeper was meticulous and attentive, patiently explaining ancient city tour routes and even gifting us souvenirs and a guide. In the morning, I'd relax in the courtyard, and in the evening, I'd watch the red lanterns illuminate the ancient walls, fully immersing myself in the local life and ancient charm of Pingyao. Whether it's for travel convenience, comfortable accommodation, or the overall ambiance, everything was impeccable. It was the most wonderfully therapeutic place to stay in Pingyao, and without a doubt, I'll choose it again on my next visit!

My stay at Futiandahua Rain Hot Spring Hotel was absolutely fantastic! First off, the location is superb, right inside the ancient city. It's super close to where they do the iron flower show, which, by the way, is an absolute must-see. I'm getting on in years, but watching that show brought tears to my eyes; I was so moved by the performers' dedication and the incredible spectacle they put on. It's clear the hotel owner pays incredible attention to detail. My two girlfriends and I stayed in a triple room, and from the moment we walked into the lobby, we were gushing over the hotel's ambiance, the staff, and the room's decor. Every little detail was thoughtfully done. Even when we were heading out to explore the ancient city, the front desk proactively offered us a pack of tissues to take with us. The room itself was a standalone unit, so it was incredibly quiet. They delivered coffee and afternoon tea daily, and the fruit plate in the room was fresh. There was also a cooler in the lobby with bottled water available for guests. The whole room was smart-enabled with XiaoDu (a smart assistant), and the shower had great water pressure and was very comfortable, with a separate wet and dry area. Oh, one small thing: the trash can in the bathroom was a bit too small; I hope they can improve that. The private hot spring was amazing. After a full day of sightseeing, coming back to soak in the hot spring and chat was just pure bliss.

Convenient location, just in the ancient city, next to the snack street and bar street, it is convenient to go anywhere. The hotel butler service is very good, kind and easy-going. The hotel environment is very comfortable, the hotel's courtyard design is very thoughtful. The intelligent control in the room is very intimate. The water quality of the hot spring is very good, the skin is slippery after washing, and the rose petals are also presented, and the atmosphere is full.

This store is very good in Zhangzhou. Thank you for the beauty at the front desk for the room type. The parking lot is also very convenient. It is also very close to the high speed. It is very cheap to take a taxi from the ancient city. The next morning, I went to Wutaishan Road to pass Zhangzhou for one night. By the way, I went to the ancient city of Zhangzhou (the ancient city of Zhangzhou is cheaper than the ancient city of Datong). The price is very cheap. I bought a lot of snacks. This season, the price is OK; A small suggestion is about 300 room rates of mid-to-high-end hotels, check-in gifts, check-out to praise the gift, and there is a nightingale is a must, even if milk, yogurt, fruit, small bread, etc., even if you don't eat it, you need to have it (PS boss? This was my favorite hotel during my Shanxi trip, and here's why: 1. The hotel is a converted old mansion, full of character. The rooms are spotless, fully smart-enabled, and stylishly designed. The personalized and attentive service is a highlight of this boutique hotel. The staff were warm and proactive. Since we had an early train, they even prepared breakfast for us in advance. On our arrival day, they offered us delicious wontons for lunch to tide us over. 3. The location is excellent, not far from the North Gate, making it super convenient for exploring the ancient city. 4. The hotel provides complimentary transfers to and from the train station in a Mercedes van equipped with massage seats – they've really invested in top-notch amenities. 5. The value for money is outstanding. With such amenities and service, it's absolutely worth every penny. I'll definitely be back!
