Pet Friendly Hotels in Shanxi, China

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in October, with my friends who booked separate rooms. We had a free transfer from and to the train station which was very handy. The room was clean and very modern looking, with a smart kettle platform (you need to tap twice on the kettle icon to activate it and boil water - it wasn't written anywhere). The receptionist gave us tips about shopping and also shared his own tea with us, so lovely! The only thing I would like to improve is a Wifi coverage, somehow inside the room it was always saying 'no data connection' despite showing the strongest signal. And the other Wifi they set up for me worked only outside of the room, so I would need to open the door each time I wanted a signal. But I had mobile internet as well so I survived. Just a warning: I think it's unprofessional to play video games without headphones when customers approach you, but maybe the staff's paycheque is low and the manners are not deeply rooted. It just looked unusual to me, because in my country you can lose your job if you behave this way.

Loved it!! Although we were only here 2 nights, this was one of our 2 favorite stays of our 2 weeks in China. We’re loved it here. This hotel was just what I was hoping for. Traditional courtyard hotel. It’s beautiful! We felt like we were in a movie. It was so relaxing. Both mornings I just relaxed on the swing in the courtyard and enjoyed the peace and the environment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Helen was very nice and helped us with any questions we had. The room was clean and beautiful. I will say you need to be prepared for a very firm bed - but that’s the style and party of the experience, This was one of our favorite parts of our trip. If we’re fortunate enough to have the chance to come back, I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend.

Very good experience. The owners are friendly and provide pick up at the gate entrance. Pretty courtyard and the owners shared a lot of information on where to eat / shop at. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse to those wanting to visit Pingyao.

This charming, old-fashioned courtyard is a peaceful oasis right in the heart of the old city, yet still very close to the bustling pedestrian street. The owner is incredibly genuine and offers fantastic service. They even arranged car transfers to and from the high-speed train station, which was a huge plus. It was a wonderful stay! I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit and will recommend it to my friends.

This guesthouse is super easy to find, right on the main Chenghuang Temple Street, making it convenient to get anywhere. The place is clean and tidy, with complete facilities and a cozy, comfortable setup. The king bed plus a 1.5-meter sofa bed is perfect for families traveling with kids. The host is warm and attentive, always quick to respond, offering free shuttle service to and from the parking lot, giving travel tips, and patiently answering all our questions. The bedding was comfortable, and our stay exceeded expectations. Even though breakfast isn't included, there are plenty of great dining options nearby. Overall, it's quiet and not noisy at all. I'd definitely choose this place again next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!

Very satisfied with this stay! The room is clean and comfortable, the layout is very warm, the facilities are complete and modern, especially the bedding is soft and sleeps very well. The surrounding transportation is convenient, and the nearby food supermarket is all available. The landlord was warm and thoughtful, responded quickly to the message, and solved the problem immediately. The price is super high.

We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good. Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around. What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge! If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

The guesthouse is a historic building, a two-courtyard siheyuan (traditional courtyard house), located behind the Ma Family Courtyard. We were busy taking photos as soon as we arrived. We stayed in the ”Children's Fun” room. Although it didn't have a separate wet and dry area, we loved its sunny location; seeing the sunlight streaming in in the morning was so vibrant. The owner was a very kind young man. Because we needed to use an old-fashioned lock when leaving the house, preventing others from entering, we asked him to deliver supplies to a small room in the first courtyard, which we picked up ourselves in the evening. The guesthouse originally only offered one pick-up or drop-off service, but the owner offered both, and even helped with our luggage. Very nice! Wishing him booming business!

The location is fantastic, right on the edge of the old town center. The building itself is beautiful, a charming and historic old structure. The underfloor heating wasn't very warm, so we had to use the air conditioning, which made it a bit dry in winter. The shower had low water pressure and felt weak, though the sink faucet was fine. Overall, it was okay. If you're visiting the old town, I'd still recommend staying in one of these old inns within the walls; it's convenient for getting around and a great way to experience a centuries-old building.

The boss is very good, stayed for about 20 days. The first time I lived in the room downstairs, I changed to the room upstairs when I lived. Especially warm, the boss is very good. My brother's feet were broken, but when I returned to Beijing, I was broken. Thanks to the boss's reminder, I must go to the hospital to check it. During the stay, the temples in the core scenic area of Wutai Mountain were almost all worshipped. When returning to the room, the boss will make up the water. It is very convenient to go to the core scenic area from the homestay. If there are Tibetans staying, it will be particularly lively.
