AAnonymous UserAn old villa with a huge garden and a pasture outside. Herds of sheep are grazing quietly on the green grass. It feels like a paradise. The local driver said it is picturesque, and it is indeed so.
NNaddersAn interesting place to stay as its an amazing building and will gave been some place back in its grand house days.
High ceilings everywhere. If you need a lift, don't go because there aren't any.
Food good, but limited menu choice.
Spa very good.
Easy to get to Stratford
YYuanI came to stay as I needed to attend a meeting in the Birmingham Business Park the next day morning. The B&B was on the edge of the Coleshill. It was an okay stay, and just about okay. I won't be against staying there again, but there is nothing special to lure me back either.
Plus: James ware expecting me when I arrived and showed me the key and the room. He also took my order for the next morning. The room was of decent size. There are lots of lights in the room. The bed was okay. There is on site parking space. The breakfast was ready when I walked down to the dining room.
Minus: At £148 a nigh this was certainly not good value for money. The facility was a bit basic, albeit adequate (tea/coffee/kettle/biscuits and hair dryer). There was one bottle for hair/body wash and there was a small soap in the bathroom. Bathroom is just about of adequate size for one person. The water temperate varied a bit while on show, but workable.
Also my room was on 2nd floor, with narrow steep stairs. It was okay for me as I traveled very light. But it would be tricky for someone with big luggage or mobility restraint.
Mmanami_co2I stayed here for 2 days. It takes just over an hour by car from the rental car company near Heathrow Airport. Parking was 5 pounds per day. It was a good location for touring the Cotswolds.
I saw about 4 staff members, and they all welcomed me kindly.
The room was clean and just the right size. The bathroom was clean and nice. There were many outlets, which I think is convenient. Towels and a hair dryer are provided. It seems that you have to ask for housekeeping at the counter in advance. I forgot to ask, and I only asked for towels to be changed later, but they changed them right away.
I think it's better to prepare body soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush set, etc. in advance.
It's very convenient because there is a gas station, restaurants (KFC, Starbucks Coffee, etc.) and a supermarket right next to it.
Thank you for your polite service. I would like to go again if I have the opportunity.
GGuest UserLovely room and bathroom was really nice with walk in shower and bath, under bed lighting which came on when going to the loo in the night which is helpful in strange places. Breakfast included
The balcony was private with amazing views. Took duck and swan food and the ducks and fish came from everywhere lovely to watch Deb
JJulianThis hotel is in a beautiful setting, convenient for Rugby and the M1/M6. The grounds and building are beautiful, although there are signs of neglect. We stayed in a suite in the Stables, it was tired, which I knew from the photos online but our bathroom had hair in the bath and clogged in the plughole. The shower didn't run hot and the toilet flush was poor. Breakfast was mediocre at best, lots of hot food had run out with no-one keeping an eye, we had to ask for items to be brought out. The staff were 50/50 - some very pleasant but some disinterested, one of the receptionists didn't even give us directions to our room properly suite. If some money was spent on improving the rooms and building I would have been happy to pay more, it is a real shame is the potential is immense!
DDawnieIn the countryside in Stratford in a beautiful timber beamed building. The room was dark but spacious. We had the family room with a double and two single. Breakfast was included. No menus but the waiter said any English breakfast combination which was great. I had two poached eggs. The only problem was a lack of communication regarding the usual route to find the hotel being closed due to road works. Navigating a one way system in an unfamiliar town with no email or call to let us know how we were to get to the hotel was extremely stressful and put us 1.5 hours behind the schedule to arrive. This could have been sorted if the hotel had contacted trip.com with the landline provided at booking and explained about road works so I could have been forwarned.
SShowkat GanieThe room itself was generally fine, and the heating worked perfectly. However, we experienced a significant issue with the bathroom: the water would not drain properly, leaving the floor flooded. We had to use a wiper to push the water toward the sink and drain (images attached), which was very inconvenient.
Another surprising and disappointing detail was that no towels or soap were provided. These are basic essentials in any hotel, and since we did not bring our own, we were charged extra for them. This felt completely unreasonable.
Finally, the location is far from ideal. The hotel is quite a distance from the town centre, and public transport is infrequent, making it difficult to get around. Would not recommend!!!
GGuest UserWe did not eat, so cannot comment on it. The hotel was quite unusual, yet with charm in a ramshackle, real sense. It reminded me of backpacking in Asia, but staying in a nicer kind of place while doing so. The explanation for why soap disappeared from the hotel made no real sense, but as we can use the liquids it was okay... it seems an odd penny-pinching move to deny guests a simple small round disc of... 'Guest soap' during their stay. They do exist, I stay in hotels often. It's jarring not to give people soap, and overall I suggest that it is a negative cost saving given the potential loss of repeat business that such incongruences, as they build, can result in. A special thanks to the kind night receptionist.
