Great location, excellent service, and a lovely breakfast! The room was very clean and tidy, and the staff at breakfast were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was included in the price, which made the stay even better value. There is a huge open field and a very clean river right next to the hotel. You can see people practising rowing, and walking along both sides of the river is really relaxing. There are also mallards and swans nearby, and you can buy special swan food from the hotel bar to feed them. I originally chose this place because the town is close to Cambridge and the price was reasonable, but I ended up really enjoying the town itself. With such a beautiful location, good service, and affordable price, this hotel is definitely great value for money.

The room decor was quite distinctive and to my taste. We stayed in one of the slightly larger rooms, but it still felt a bit cramped because the bathroom and balcony were incorporated, making the space feel tight. The environment is nice, being close to the river, which is quite picturesque. If you prioritize the surroundings, it's a good choice. However, the bed was too soft and uncomfortable to sleep on, and the staff's attitude was also rather unenthusiastic.

A dream hotel! This was my absolute favorite hotel during my UK trip, bar none. The rooms are exquisite. We booked two rooms this time, a loft suite and a king room. The price difference wasn't huge, but the suite was incredible – it had a kitchen, a living room, and a bedroom, it was fantastic. The air conditioning worked great, and the breakfast was delicious. It's about 1km from Cambridge University, easily accessible. There are temporary parking spots out front, and overnight parking in the basement, so no worries there. Two points for domestic travelers to note: 1. The EV charging station app in the basement cannot be downloaded or used by iPhones in mainland China or Hong Kong. Friends with electric cars should be aware of this. 2. The immediate area isn't particularly safe. When I went to the supermarket, I noticed that the people around seemed a bit questionable, especially if you go further north. For those concerned about safety, just avoid wandering around the area at night. The hotel itself is excellent and meets most needs.

This is a very old hotel, the hotel is a bit old, but the room is large, the hotel is good, the only drawback is that there is no elevator on the second floor, but the overall stay experience is still good, the best choice for family travel, facilities are also very good!

This was my second stay at the hotel in a single room 114. I decided to stay again as it was very good value and a fairy short walk into Cambridge. I had a different single room than before and it was Ok. It had a decent shower and a comfortable bed. I was very cosy. The room had T and coffee facilities, and a T pot that I greatly appreciated during my last stay. I had a better view in this single room which was nice. It is a short walk to the shops, bus stop and the museums. As I was visiting cultural venues it’s a great positioned hotel not far from The Cambridge Museum and the Castle. I really liked staying in this hotel. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was very good value with really good ham, fresh fruit and yoghurts, nice muffins ext. there is plenty of spaces available to relax in the hotel. If you like 90s retro the spaces are great! The staff were very helpful and I stowed luggage so that I could visit Cambridge. It’s a great value hotel for solo travellers so please keep a good price for us! A very good stay here I will be back. We had a lovely room. Excellent location to travel to Duxford air museum, or for train into Cambridge. We were driving, so paid £10 for overnight parking. Thought this was ok, as if we'd not had car then we'd have had benefit of not incurring that charge. The breakfast was ok. The service at breakfast though was really poor, not I think down to the staff who were on, but the lack of staff, thus a management issue perhaps. When we went into breakfast there wasn't a single clean available table. We had to move used things from one, cleaned table myself. We were in there about 20 minutes, and I saw the items that had been left on other tables stayed there, and those I'd moved stayed too. There wasn't enough cutlery out - I asked for more, and heard others doing the same later. It felt chaotic. Just not staffed well enough - the receptionist was helping out too with breakfast. Though the room was good in terms of its facilities, size, cleanliness, the shower had a big problem. It was a wet room, which was fine, but weirdly the floor seemed to slant the wrong way (I later realised) as the water from the shower spread across the entire bathroom, soaked my clothes that I'd left at the furthest point away (nowhere to put them than on the floor), and almost went under the door into the room itself. I just realised what was happening in time. There wasn't one of those floor wipers you often get in a wet room to wipe the floor, so though it did slowly go down the plug hole, the whole bathroom floor was left very wet, and I had to use towels to dry it a bit. I mentioned it to the receptionist as a complaint; she just said she would pass it on. A nice hotel in a good location, the issues I mention hopefully will get sorted. I would stay again, but now forewarned.

Stayed 3 nights so that we could visit family and friends in the area. Booked a twin room which had adequate space for 2 of us and separate area with small table and chairs if needed. Beds were comfortable and the room was warm (once I was shown how to activate the heating) Unfortunately the bathroom was very cold as the hotel boiler needed repair so the radiator wasn’t working. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay. The hotel is quite dated and in need of an upgrade which is on the planning. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially when I realised I’d left my own personal pillow on the bed. They tracked it down and a friend collected for me the next day. Definitely stay agin when next in the area.

The Ashley Hotel is conveniently located north of the city center, very close to Cambridge University, making it easy to get around. It boasts pleasant surroundings, a full range of well-maintained facilities, and excellent service. Overall, it offers great value for money.
