Singapore River
#mysgmemories
The Singapore River is one to go place for tourist that wants to experience bump-boat ride.
The river is actually part of the planning area where the river starts from Kim Seng Bridge and eventually flows out to the Marina Bay where the Marina barrage is!
This river plays a significant part of Singapore’s history when our little island used to be a bustling port of call in the past when people used to trade via ships.
The river was very polluted but however after years of major clean up effort. It is now so cleaned. Even animals are coming back.
I took a stroll along the river to admire the nature and tranquility and you should too!
Starlight Stroll: Unveiling SG's Nighttime Charms
As twilight painted the sky, I embarked on a nocturnal exploration of Singapore's bustling city centre. The city, adorned with a tapestry of radiant lights, bloomed like a night flower, offering a sight to behold.
First stop: the iconic Merlion, majestically spouting water against the backdrop of the glimmering skyline, an enduring symbol of Singapore's prosperity. Strolling along Boat Quay, the iridescent reflection of charming colonial buildings on the water's surface enthralled me.
My steps then led me outside CHIJMES, a stunning gothic-style structure, which, under the starlit canopy, felt almost ethereal. The historic complex, with its intricate facades illuminated, narrated a story of architectural grandeur.
Finally, the vibrant, neon-lit strip of Clarke Quay, where the Elgin Bridge was alight with color. The city, now a kaleidoscope of hues, seemed more alive than ever. Truly, the nighttime allure of Singapore is unparalleled.

💌 Sail on the love river
A lovely idea to sail on Singapore Cruise along Singapore River and with the ongoing Frozen musical, it will be awesome to take your date by boat and arrive for the musical. It will be the only stop in Southeast Asia and it is going to be at MBS from 5 February to 19 March 2023. What I will recommend is to have dinner at Clark Quay and then take a boat ride around MBS. This journey will take 40 minutes and pass through many landmarks such as Merlion park, Esplanade and etc. Then you can be in time for 8pm show time.
#valentinescape
Beautiful walk along Singapore river
A walk along Singapore river offers many interesting sights and colours.
My recommended route is to start from The Central @ Clarke Quay. Walking towards the Alkaff Bridge (the colourful bridge that has appeared in many movies/dramas). Along the way, you can rest at the F&B outlets along the river. If you are lucky, you may be able to spot the famous otter family in the river.
Walk from Chinatown to Clarke Quay
This walk is very easy to do and you can stroll from Chinatown to Clarke Quay (where Singapore ricer flows through)
Along the walk, you will notice some iconic buildings in Chinatown like People’s Park complex, Hotel 81 at the junction, the Majestic building (former majestic theatre attracted the most glamorous opera stars from China) and Yue Hwa Department Store 裕华国货 (Former Great Southern Hotel 旧南天大酒店)
From here onwards, you will see modern buildings starting to appear in you view. Walking towards Clarke Quay and spend some time enjoy the evening breeze by sitting at the steps at Singapore River or taking a river cruise to explore further.

Singapore River Historical Walk
#localhistory - Singapore's Heritage by the River
Location : Boat Quay sidewalk area along the Singapore River and along Fullerton Hotel.
To get to river sidewalk, simply alight at Clarke Quay or Raffles Place MRT and walk over.
Walk along the Singapore river sidewalk, and marvel at the magnificant architecture while also bask n the sun. You will also come across many local art pieces with great local historical value of how far we have gone from a fishing village to a cosmopolitan garden city.
First off, check out the brilliant artwork entitled "First Generation"
- Located at Fullerton Hotel
- This sculpture depicts scenes of Singapore's earlier days. Basically the Singapore River was the lifeline of Singapore in the earlier years when the first immigrant community settled here. Then, it was a common sight to see kids jumping into the water to take a swim.
Next : "River Merchants"
- Located near Maybank Tower
- This iconic group of sculptures depicts a seated Alexandre Laurie Johnston, a prominent Scottish merchant in the 1800s, negotiating with a Chinese trader, with coolies loading goods onto a bullock cart.
Walk around the Boat Quay and Singapore River sidewalk and you will get to see more impressive bronze sculptures. Also enjoy in the sight of the impressive cross over bridge and spectacular colonial buildings in this historical walk around. Totally worth it !

Clarke Quay | I wish to immerse myself in these colorful houses
I wish to immerse myself in these colorful houses. Clarke Quay was originally a small wharf for unloading goods, but now it has been developed into Singapore's🇸🇬 newest entertainment spot. It combines bars🍻, shopping🛍, dining♨️, and entertainment💽, attracting many tourists.
This place is famous for its bar🍻 street, various international cuisines♨️, and at night🏙, Clarke Quay becomes the liveliest district here, filled with a festive atmosphere and permeated with a unique Singaporean🇸🇬 vibe.
🌈Highlights:
At Clarke Quay, you can take a boat🛶 tour of the Singapore River, go directly to the 165-meter tall Singapore Flyer🎡, and get a close view of the Merlion, Esplanade, and other financial buildings of Singapore.
What attracts me the most are the colorful🌈 houses🏠 of Clarke Quay. The houses decorated in various bright and beautiful colors look like they come from a fairy tale world. The colorful houses🏠 stand along the river, very pleasing to the eye, and the most famous is probably the rainbow-colored🌈 Old Hill Street Police Station.
The Old Hill Street Police Station is located at the crossroads next to Clarke Quay. At a glance, the windows are like a rainbow🌈, with a total of 927 windows, all painted in vibrant colors, forming a stark contrast with the white walls, very dazzling, and it has also become a famous Instagrammable spot in Singapore🇸🇬
Taking photos📸 at the police station is also very photogenic, with every frame looking great under the colorful windows. Across the street, with the traffic coming and going, the portraits taken are also awesome👍🏻

Singapore Travel Guide 'Up' Nanny Level
📞About Phone Cards and Currency Exchange
Before the trip, for convenience, I decided to exchange currency in my home country. But in retrospect, I didn't really need that much cash. In Singapore, you can almost use credit cards, Alipay and other electronic payment methods, and you can enjoy discounts when using Alipay in duty-free shops at the airport. Therefore, I suggest only exchanging a small amount of cash, which can also be done at Changi Airport. At the same time, I also prepared a Visa chip credit card, which is convenient for payment and brushing subways and buses (although there are some fees, it is very convenient).
To meet the needs of short, medium and long-distance travel, I bought Singtel's 5G/4G Singapore SIM card on platforms like TB. These SIM cards offer different choices such as 7 days, 14 days, 28 days, which are very suitable for my travel plan. And, I can pick it up at the UOB window at Changi Airport, Singtel's signal is very good. In addition, these SIM cards also come with a transportation card, which can be used on subways and buses, and it has already been topped up with 3 Singapore dollars.
⛰About Attractions and Routes
My itinerary is as follows: Hotel-Singapore River-Merlion Park-Marina Bay Sands Hotel/Gardens by the Bay-Dinner/Bar. Alipay Gold and above members can apply for a membership card at the 'SANDS LIFESTYLE' counter next to the food court of Marina Bay Sands Mall or Marina Bay Sands Hotel, so that they can get two free tickets to the Sky Garden of Marina Bay Sands, just need to make an appointment in advance. Don't forget to visit the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Super Tree (two free light shows every night at 19:45 and 20:45) and OCBC Skyway (you can overlook the entire garden and Ice Bay).
Next is Sentosa-Universal Studios-Orchard Road. I remind everyone not to choose to go to Universal Studios on weekends, because Universal Studios in Singapore is very small, most of the projects have single-person channels, so even if you do not buy VIP channel tickets, you basically do not need to queue, very convenient. And, you can reach Palawan Island by walking over a suspension bridge from Palawan Beach, you can go to check in the southernmost point of the Asian continent, but remember to go early, because you can't go up the suspension bridge after five o'clock.
Fook Ning-National Museum/Art Gallery, Old Xi Street Police Station & Central Fire Station-Chinatown. When I was taking pictures in the popular tree hole in Fook Ning, the queue time was very long, so I suggest everyone to arrange time in advance. When we went, the art gallery was free, so remember to make an appointment to buy tickets in advance, the art gallery is very large, it is worth spending a whole day to visit carefully. To be honest, Little India is not highly recommended, I personally feel that Haji Lane is more worth visiting, and the Michelin restaurant is not as delicious as imagined.
Finally, it is New Changi. In fact, Changi Airport itself is a very fun place, I arranged it on the day of the return journey. The most famous is the indoor waterfall (HSBC Rain Vortex), the waterfall can be photographed from the viewing platform on each floor, but only the airport shuttle can be photographed passing in front of the waterfall in the bridge part. Each terminal has many fun and photogenic places, such as the Cactus Garden, Orchid Garden, Sunflower Garden, Dream Garden, etc., and they are connected by a small train, which is very convenient.
Fish Travel the World | The New Entertainment Paradise in Singapore City—Clarke Quay
Young people like to go to Singapore's Clarke Quay, which is located on the Singapore River. It is a tourist attraction that combines shopping, dining, and entertainment. It is named after Sir Andrew Clarke, the second governor of Singapore. Its predecessor was a small dock used for unloading goods. After development, it has become the newest entertainment venue in Singapore city, and it is also a favorite check-in point for many tourists. It is also the best place to experience Singapore's nightlife.
During the day, it is suitable for strolling along the quay, feeling the beautiful scenery of Lion City with tourists from all over the world. Because it is not too far from the famous attractions of Marina Bay in Singapore, it is within walking distance. You can see the famous landmark Marina Bay Sands Hotel from the river.
In addition, Boat Quay has at least 35 bars and restaurants (including restaurants opened by our compatriots, so Chinese stomachs don't have to worry). This is the most attractive open-air dining place along the river. It is brightly lit and bustling. In the evening, it is suitable to find a restaurant along the river, enjoy the breeze, watch the night view, enjoy delicious food with friends, have a drink, and enjoy a comfortable night.
When you come here, you will feel that whether it is day or night, it is always in a relaxed and cheerful festive atmosphere. No wonder it is a playground recommended and loved by tourists.
🌟Transportation: Clarke Quay Station on the NE line of the subway, station number NE5, walk along the Singapore River after exiting the station.

#Singapore river
Strolling along the Singapore River, I reveled in a serene experience last evening. The gentle breeze whispered through the palm trees, creating a soothing melody that accompanied my leisurely walk. The river's surface shimmered under the city lights, reflecting the vibrant atmosphere of Clarke Quay and Boat Quay. As I meandered along the picturesque promenade, I soaked in the rich history and modernity intertwined in this vibrant cityscape. The mix of old and new architecture, with skyscrapers standing beside colonial-era buildings, was captivating. It was a perfect evening, and I relished every moment of the chilled walk by the Singapore River
Singapore
Singapore is located at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, at the entrance of the Strait of Malacca. It is bordered to the north by the Johor Strait and Malaysia, and to the south by the Singapore Strait and Indonesia. Its land area is approximately 720 square kilometers.
Singapore is picturesque, with evergreen scenery all year round. The island is covered in gardens, shaded by lush trees, and is renowned for its cleanliness and beauty, earning it the nickname "Garden City".
Impressions of Singapore - Singapore River
Touring along the Singapore River, the most impressive thing was the little boy jumping into the river from the embankment to play.
I suddenly felt like I was back in my childhood, with scenes of playing in the stream with my friends flashing through my mind, and the clear yet confused faces of my friends.

If you’re looking for something relaxing yet has some element of the outdoors to do, I highly recommend taking a nice stroll along the banks of Singapore River! Start from the area closest to the Esplanade - Theatres On The Bay and walk towards The Fullerton Hotel.
There are loads of greenery and calming nature scenes, along with the sounds of flowing waters. Do bring an umbrella though as it is completely unsheltered just in case the weather takes a turn!
