Bai Sha Ancient Town | Waking up in the golden sunshine of Jīnshān
Waking up in the golden sunshine of Jīnshān. Bai Sha Ancient Town, a surprising little town where you encounter a surprising homestay.
The homestay is a 5-minute reach from Bai Sha Ancient Town, and it's very suitable to take a leisurely stroll around the ancient town in the morning to experience the local life.
After checking in, you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the lobby, and there is a special terrace on the rooftop facing the snow mountain⛰️ for enjoying the view, allowing for a painless early rise to watch the sunrise over Jīnshān from your room!
However, seeing the sunrise over Jīnshān depends on luck, and I didn't get to see it, but I met a lovely dog in the homestay, a well-behaved Border Collie that doesn't bark randomly and will coyly beg for snacks. While drinking tea and enjoying the view, you can pet the quiet and healing dog.
Sitting in the lobby, the homestay auntie kept asking me if I wanted to drink tea, which was their own white tea that they said is only available from their own tea mountain, and I was healed by the simplicity of the Bai Sha people!
The entire homestay is quaint and full of surprises, with underfloor heating, aromatic pillows, special tea sets for drinking tea, and large bottles of body lotion (Yunnan is very dry)... The breakfast is their own homemade Sàozi noodles, which are much tastier than any ready-made meal kits!
After the stay, I had a very long withdrawal reaction, Bai Sha is really too healing!

Visiting Baisha Ancient Town in Lijiang is definitely worth it!!!
As one of the three major ancient towns in Lijiang, Baisha Ancient Town is also the closest to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. For it, the labels I define are simplicity and tranquility, slow pace, reclusive, a utopia, and genuinely artistic.
Unlike the monotonous ancient towns everywhere else, Baisha is unique.
Compared to the mature Lijiang Ancient Town, I prefer the simple charm of Baisha Ancient Town. There's no busy schedule of three meals a day, no worldly hustle and bustle, no noisy city clamor. Here, there is only the tranquility of simplicity under the snow mountain.
