This was bought as a gift. A warm welcome, cosy lounge area and bar. The room, wow! Dirty, shabby and just not pleasant. Smell fusty, cobwebs everywhere, the carpet has seen better days and everything just felt dusty and dirty. Two pillows, one plush and one flat as a pancake. Dirty cup marks left, patched painting. Did not enjoy my stay one bit. Food mediocre, not the best Greek. The breakfast was rubbish, cheap sausage! Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend. However if you like your trains you might like it more.

Decided on a nights stay as the value for money compared to just a basic hotel was far better and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in a carriage compar**ent that overlooked the railway line and you get a veriety of trains passing ever few minutes the staff are welcoming and friendly and the a**osphere is really relaxed. We sat out on the viewing area and looked across the countryside while been entertained by the trains. We had an evening meal in the dining carriage which was really nice and nostalgic. The bar area is full of railway memorabilia and the rooms are quirky but with a comfy bed a nice hot shower and you are sleeping in a train carriage. Loved it and will stay again.

Try this place, the Sidings is excellent. The food is first class, the restaurant in the railway carriages is brilliant and the staff are lovely and friendly. An excellent meal, especially the nougat’s. Will definitely go again when we visit York.

Great evening out. Excellent meal in really interesting surroundings. Would recommend to anyone especially if you have a train buff in the family. The staff are great, very helpful and the Bougatsa is brilliant. Will be visiting again very soon.

Fabulous and unique experience. If you like Greek Cypriot food you can’t go wrong here. Food was amazing and staff very friendly. We went as a family and both adult and kids food options are very good. Would definitely recommend and will be returning again very soon.

We came here in 2021 and had a wonderful meal. We came back hoping that it was going to be just as good and the food was better than it was previously. We had the meat meze and the food was plentiful and each dish was different to the next and all were equally delicious. Would highly recommend a visit. The staff are welcoming, attentive and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful meal in a unique surrounding.

Last minute treat on a beautiful evening. Amazing food & service. Friendly & reasonable price. Will return. The Greek food seems oddly placed but is home made and fantastic! If you enjoy the spectacle of super modern trains wizzing by every ten minutes, you’ll love this place!

Wow, what a find ! Superb food. Good choice of wine,quality service. Everything cooked to order. Unique dining experience in a railway carriage. Staying in a local hotel and if "The Sidings" was located nearer home it would be a regular dining venue.

Went for lunch with the family and had a lovely time. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Staff were great. Choice of several areas to eat in, we chose the carriage, I was concerned the leg space might be a bit tight as we’re a tall family but there was plenty of space. Next time we come we’ll sit in the garden which despite being next to a train line is very relaxing, and being west facing will be perfect for evenings.
