Had a free night with Marriott to use up and we wanted to visit Fallingwater, which we now had time to visit as we are both retired. We weren't expecting much, but were pleasantly surprised. The female desk clerk, with a southern accent, clearly loves her job and goes above and beyond to make you feel like a valued guest. Actually, we found the entrance of the hotel a bit hard to discern, but once we did, all was well. Our room was prepared with the feather pillows we like, and the temp control was easy to use. We wanted an intimate but no fuss dinner, so we prepared our dinner at home and used the kitchen to warm it up and store our beverages. It was so nice to relax after a full day at Fallingwater. I had been afraid it might be to long a drive, but after a very short drive on the PA turnpike, it was beautiful countryside until we got back to the hotel. If you had been wanting to eat out, every kind of chain restaurant, and some local ones as well, were located on the William Penn Hwy, by the hotel. I wanted something sweet for dessert, which we had not packed, but was too tired. Imagine how excited I was to see a huge platter of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at the check in desk!! With the built up area, I was afraid there might be some road noise but the room provided total quiet. My sleep was so good, I decided to skip breakfast, but hubby said it was good. I would go here again if visiting the Pittsburgh area as it is easy to get around from this location.

Apparently I got put on the DO NOT RENT LIST because I checked out at 2p which my benefits as a PLATINUM ELITE MEMBER allow me to. Last year I stayed at this hotel everyday most of the year. Know the staff by name. The employee told me that the manager BRAD (who acts like we have rapport but obviously we don’t) told them put me on the do not rent list because I checked out later than 1. She said verbatim “it was closer to 2”. So mam for you wanting to utilize the benefits of spending so much money with IHG we punish you by banning you from our hotel SECRETLY so next time you return we can embarrass you in front of a lobby full of people as we kick you out our hotel and make you look like a bad customer. I’ve worked in hotels all my life I’ve never seen a customer banned for late checkout especially if they are in a tier that allows it. So obviously this is more personal and I don’t appreciate that! Make me wish I could get ALL my money back I ever spent here and replace the management! Marriott hotels for my tier I’m given 4p checkout and it’s honored EVEN IF THE HOTEL IS SOLD OUT!!!!! If you stay here it’s better if you’re not a rewards member and it’s better if you don’t come more than one time. If you start building relationships that place will screw you over. Needs new management Anyway. Most of the housekeeping staff are on drugs and you can tell and obviously they tell the manager what to do he doesn’t tell them what to do. Because you put someone on the do not rent list for leaving late means you must be scared your housekeeping won’t clean or something which means you don’t actually run the hotel. They treat non members better than members. I would never run a hotel like this.
