Bestay Hotel Express (Taizhou Huancheng East Road)

Very cheap. Decent location. The room was basic, but adequate --- a double bed (with bedding), a small TV, a small table and chair, and a windowed-off toilet/shower area. I tried this place out on a whim, given how cheaply I was able to book it (less than 100 RMB for one person for the night). It is attached to the apparently better Jinjiang Inn, and I was sent there to check-in. The gentleman I met on arrival (at Bestay) came over to Jinjiang with me --- and just as well. His colleague, a woman whose name I didn't catch, was very rude, intrusive, and basically just bad! He had to intervene to send her away from me to complete the check-in process. Frankly, I was shocked at how bad she was, even for a budget hotel. Apart from that bad staff member, the stay was, as expected, uneventful. The room was quite basic, and a bit grubby/worn-out, but nonetheless, quite clean. The surrounding area is a nice place to walk around and explore. If I could be sure of avoiding the bad staff, I would recommend here, and would return. For now, ... I'd say it is OK to stay, but be prepared for an annoying check-in process.
