Millennium Hotel Taichung

Tiger City/Taichung 7Th Phase Area Commercial Circle Taichung|2km from Feng Chia Night Market
Would like to highlight an issue we encountered with regards to our deposit and certain charges that were made to us but which we had not incurred. When we were checking out, we asked to have a look at our statement of charges as we understood that any additional charges would be offset by the deposit placed with the hotel. We had dinner at ”The Prime -Grill and Lounge” on one of the nights and just wanted to check if the charges were right. The statement showed 3 separate bills that were not incurred by us and were all purchases of alcohol, which we found strange. When we brought this up with the front desk, the staff did not seem surprised at all with the error or sought to verify the same anywhere nor were we given any apology for the mistake. It was as though she already knew that those 3 charges were unanauthorised transactions and said that the hotel would rectify the issue with the bank in respect of our deposit. The front desk was also very adamant to not let us speak to her manager about the issue. We just wanted to highlight the above because we would usually just trust the hotel to refund the right amount of deposit without checking, especially when using credit card to pay the same. But it may be worth checking when it comes to this hotel as based on the reaction which we got from the front desk, it seems that such mistakes whether intentional or not have happened before. We also hope that the hotel would do some sort of investigation into how issues like this could happen.

Fengjia Night Market
Pretty nice hotel. Really like the common area, with coffee, small biscuits and utensils you need. I believe that the hotel room is smaller than most hotels in Taipei but still functional. There's a small fridge, place to put luggage, full length mirror, separate shower/toilet. Very friendly staff who explained to me where I could go in Taichung and helped to get me a cab to Taichung HSR.

Was given a bigger room but it has a funky smell. Requested to change a room but they denied until I had to give them a 2nd call right after they hang up. They asked someone to come over to check and upon acknowledging the weird smell in the toilet, they say just let the smell go away on it's own with freshener. I had to reject the housekeeper TWICE before they let me change another room which is much better. No smell and cleaner. They should've given this room from the start. Service is terrible but the location is just beside Fengjia Night Market which is a plus point. There is a bus stop just below the hotel that goes to Ruyi to get some snacks shopping done. Breakfast quality is bad but sufficient. No high expectation on the breakfast.

Fengjia Night Market
The location and decoration level of the hotel itself are already very good, and the facilities are also very complete. The hotel can only be found in a deep alley, so it is very quiet. Considering the price, there is nothing wrong with it. Full marks.

Check in on 12/1 Check out on 12/2 I booked the room first and then saw the reviews. To be honest, I was really worried at first and had the idea of canceling the reservation or not going there. But I still feel like I should give the boss a chance and I can’t get a refund by swiping my card hahaha🤣 But not too disappointed! I stayed in room 701 in the side room. There was a slight smell of smoke when I first entered the room. I don't smoke, but I can accept the slight smell of smoke! After all, it is not a hotel level and it is impossible to strictly require the neighbors next door to abide by the rules🥲 The bed, pillows, floor, and even the toilet and sink in the room are really clean. I saw a message saying that the window grooves were full of cigarette butts (I paid special attention to them🤣🤣There just weren’t any! I don’t know if I’m just too lucky or if the hotel is really improving! But to be honest, I am satisfied with the CP value for a double room that is less than 1,000 yuan! ! ps. But I took the initiative to contact the hotel from booking to checking out. Hahahaha, they really won’t contact me even after a phone call or a message. You have to be proactive when booking a room by yourself😅😅 The above small comments are shared with you who don’t have a high accommodation budget but don’t want to step on the wrong side! 🖤😏

Fengjia Night Market
The room is not in the predetermined location shown on Ctrip, and it is farther away from Fengjia Night Market. Overall, the room type is relatively small. But there is nothing wrong with cleanliness, and the bed is okay and comfortable. If you park, you can find a parking space near Wenxiu Park. It is not difficult to find. You can walk to the hotel for about 5 minutes.

Fengjia Night Market
It's a youth hostel. The bathroom can't be simpler and the location is not easy to find. It is completely inconsistent with Ctrip's positioning. According to Ctrip's positioning, it is completely further and farther. Later, I called the hotel to find it. Speaking of it, it's a youth hostel. Although it is a single room, the bed sheets are not very clean. There are no bath towels. There are only disposable ones. The bathroom and toilet are together, which really looks dirty. It's very close to Fengjia Night Market, but we were arranged at the entrance on the first floor. It was too noisy. It was really bad soundproofing. In short, it is not particularly recommended. Consider it carefully.
