Kensington Hotel Yeouido

Yeouido/Yeong-Deungpo Seoul|3km from Sinchon Church International Community (SCIC)

Latest booking 23 hrs ago

It was conveniently located in Yeouido. It was nice to go to see the cherry blossoms, and The Hyundai was within walking distance, so it was good in many ways, but I was confused at first because I was assigned a room without a bidet. Still, it's a 4-star hotel, but there's no bidet... I inquired at the front desk and was told that some rooms with a city view have bidets and some do not. I asked them if they could have asked me first, and they said they couldn't confirm it on the screen, so they changed me back to a room with a bidet, but it was a hassle. Also, the room door does not close automatically, so you must close it manually. When closing the door, the sound of the door closing is louder than expected, so you must mentally prepare yourself so as not to be startled. Still, I enjoyed using the rest. I was able to use the 14th floor lounge (welcome tea time & happy hour) by using the executive class. You could enjoy unlimited welcome tea time from 3 to 5 p.m. and happy hour drinks from 6 to 9 p.m. At tea time, you can drink coffee or tea with simple cookies or desserts, and the cookies and macaron madeleines were both good. But I had to eat dinner too, so I held on. It was disappointing that there were 4 types of wine at happy hour, white and champagne, and only 1 type of red, but it was nice that you could make highballs and have beer as well. The meal is good to eat with alcohol, and it's also good for those who just drink it without alcohol. Breakfast is served on the 1st floor instead of the 14th floor. The breakfast was good overall, but the waffles were not very tasty. You have to choose between late check-in or free parking. The parking fee is 5,000 won, and late check-in is at 2 o'clock, but I had plans later, so I just parked for free and left at 11 o'clock. If you want to pay the 5,000 won parking fee and stay until 2 o'clock, you can choose late check-in. It was nice to be able to enjoy lodging, breakfast, tea time, and happy hour alone with my wife without the kids for the first time in a while, and even go on a date in Yeouido.

The single room is very comfortable, a person is very just a space, only five steps from the subway station, the room is also very comfortable, the toilet hot water is also very strong, the washing is super comfortable! However, the toilet door is not sealed, and the water is easy to flow out of the room when taking a bath. Except for this, everything else is excellent.

We sleep there for 5 nights and we met the owner. The owner is so kind and she can speak english and mandarin too! We’re there at seollal( korean ***** new year) and the owner cooked us a korean traditional meal and it’s so good really grateful for that! The kitchen room and bathroom is spacious and clean, it’s also neat and very homey. Really recommend you this hotel because the location is very strategic too! It’s my 2nd visit already and can’t wait to comeback!

The location of the homestay is Yixuan. The underground facilities will be introduced first. The precautions will be noted. Wi-Fi/gate password will be provided with Line/Kakao. After entering the room, there is a separate toilet and bathroom. The toothbrush should be provided by yourself. Other fields are provided. The bed is good for training, soundproofing is average, but the training time is very quiet; The overall is new and clean, the room space is enough, the price is high, the picture is in line with the reality, it is recommended.

I do not recommend this hotel for long stay. Maximum 1-2 night. There is no permanent staff in the hotel that could guide you to the hotel itself and provide assistance in principle. All ads there on Korean – will be difficult even with translation by photo. In rooms and common spaces it is dirty. Cleaning is very conditional – just collect large garbage. In the process of residence cleaning is not at all. Furniture and plumbing are all shaved. The walls and bed linen, the towels in spots. In the sludge, the plum and the plumbing flow - in our case there was a shelves. The photos presented on the booking sites were clearly taken at the time of the opening – now all dead. The rooms are very small, there are no storage spaces – neither cabinet nor tumbocs, only the shaky hanger on which you will not hang much, as it constantly falls. With two suitcases in the room is already close. The ventilation is not good. The neighbor over us smoked in the toilet despite the ban – everything pulled into the room. The shower is just a leak over the toilet. The sauna itself is very small and for a person the average set is already uncomfortable. If you count on communication with foreigners – Forget. The main contingent – Koreans. They are gathered in the evening in common spaces, drink and noise. During 3 weeks staying from foreigners only Chinese were who are just as noisy. From the pluses – close to the metro. The 24-hour shops are in principle all over Seoul everywhere, so I do not relate to the benefits.

How to say, it's actually pretty good. I will be contacted by the person in charge from the moment I get off the plane. Every day after check-in, people change towels and take out trash. The rooms have refrigerators and water dispensers and microwaves in common areas. Stayed for a few days and had a little sense of belonging ha ha ha ha. Generally, the staff will only be seen during check-in and check-out, but this is actually quite good. Don't worry if there is a need to contact, you can contact the staff through WeChat and other methods. Overall pretty good. Not far from the subway station. The room was a little soundproof but it was not noisy when it was time to sleep. Breakfast is simple toast with butter / jam and coffee / juice.
