After entering with some in trepidation I was pleasantly greeted by a professional friendly gentleman who took my order and booking for dinner that night. I found a lovely corner to pitch up and settle down to enjoy my pint. Some times when you just try you are rewarded. And this is one such time. Feel very comfortable in the friendly, bright, clean and well run establishment. Fully recommend a visit. And if you can stay in the hotel or camp site next door then so much the better 👍🎊👍 Foods good too 😋

So check in time is 3pm and we arrived 2 hours early..got to front desk only to see that it would not be manned until 3pm due to staff shortages..no problem, it just meant I had to leave our bag in the car (totally my fault for arriving early).. Went for a walk and a few drinks round Keswick and returned to the hotel just after 3pm. We got checked in (room 4) which my wife recognised straight away as being the room we stayed in 13 years ago for her 40th..apparently the same decor.. Off we went for a few more drinks and returned to the hotel for a meal at 1930ish only to be told by the same fella that checked us in about 4 hours earlier that they would only serve residents..once we established that we were in fact residents I asked him what time the bar closes? His reply..”as soon as possible”.. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because it advertised it's own beer garden so on a lovely June evening, sun still beating down when you might want a couple of drinks, in the 'beer garden' - the front door is locked at 2030 and lights out. After last night's trauma of not even being able to get a drink we went down for breakfast..honestly we are far from picky eaters but it was mostly undercooked.. Sorry for sounding negative so on the plus side...the bed was very comfortable and the hotel is actually in a fantastic location for exploring Keswick. So put it on that or not. Is this

Staff are always welcoming and can’t do enough to make your stay the best it can be. The hotel rooms are spotless with really comfy beds. Breakfast was nice and a good selection for anyone’s taste. Hot foods can be ordered when you sit down and there is a good selection of fruit, yoghurt, toast, cereal to help yourself to as well. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Ambleside with good parking. We didn’t need to move the car once we had arrived as everything is in walking distance and we spent our days exploring the many walks which you can take from Ambleside. We are regular visitors and this is our favourite place to stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Honeymoon. The hotel looks Grand from the outside. We checked in and were given room 115. It was a nice size room but the bathroom was very dated, the floor of the room was at a weird angle so was uphill to get to the bathroom. Then unfortunately we didn't sleep as the mattress was old, thin and lumpy. Breakfast was excellent 👍 it was buffet and good quality so no complaints! We went to reception to tell them the bed was awful and they changed our room straight away to a refurbished one which was sooo much better! Room 117. All in a nice stay, the Hotel is a nice short walk from keswick centre and there's plenty of parking. We would stay aging next time we visit keswick.

Excellent staff.. had a evening meal food was very tasty ... room was very nicely decorated with a comfy bed .. had a cooked breakfast then got talking to the owners before we left ... couldn't do enough for us

Absolutely perfect stay. We booked “Holly” a wonderful ground floor room, tastefully decorated and furnished with a comfy bed and small pine table and chairs. Really stylish modern large shower room. We’ve never taken our dog to stay in accommodation before but felt at ease straight away. There was enough room for his bed and we’d brought our own bed cover just in case he jumped on our bed, but there were fleeces rolled up ready to use for doggy guests. We own our own holiday let and know how much thought and effort goes into ensuring guests are comfortable and have an enjoyable time. I can safely say Lake View is perfect. We felt really welcomed, it was a lovely and warm, quiet and comfortable stay and we’ll definitely be back! As always we read previous reviews and have to admit having a chuckle at the negative ones for Lake View. Honestly it’s about 2 mins flat from the most delicious breakfast at the Sport Inn. We’d recommend you book a table in advance for an evening meal to avoid disappointment, easy to do online. There’s a parking space with the room which is brilliant considering how much parking is at a premium in the village. Do take advantage of the location for walks too, you won’t be disappointed.
