Le Relais de la Malmaison Hotel Spa

Rueil-Malmaison|1.06km from downtown
Nearly one of the WORST EXPERIENCES I ever had. Rooms and building are fairly ok but AVERAGE and not that well maintained for its price. Shockingly the toilet was on a separate room that the shower which is inconvenient and rooms are too warm, their climate system is not good and their room staff is RUDE. Shockingly they block a large amount of money from your credit card as a deposit (not for possible room damages but for future spends you make on their facilities), which I found it to be unfair since they seem to think it is ok to block so much of people's money in advance for a consumption you have not done yet. And that I obviously didn't do. I know France is famous for its fine cuisine, but coming to this place and a few others in Paris I must say they know how to do their Marketing cause reality is disappointing. I never tasted more disgusting food than in the restaurant of this hotel, which was preparing lunches for our events. I truly believe they should fire their ”chef” (to name it somehow). In a closed menu for more than 30+ people, just offered one main, one second and one dessert option. With no asking, they didn't know some of us were vegetarian (I myself eat fish but no meat). In the XXI century you would think that most of countries are already aware of this and would offer at least 2 options in a closed menu for a large group of people, but not only in this case they didn't but also didn't even have a fish option or any other available food in the kitchen (or so they said) and charged an extra 10€ for an additional dish that consisted on 2 boiled CARROTS on a CARROT purée. So carrot + carrot + a bunch of dry oregano. The main course was melon with black pepper, balsamic vinegar, serrano ham and a whole bunch of arugula, which I didn't eat either. I don't know why in the Earth would they RUIN a simple dish of melon and serrano ham like that. The last day they had 3 menu options for our event lunch: meat, vegetarian (which they didn't know to differentiate from vegan cause they offered it to a vegan person and it contained eggs and dairy) and fish. I had the fish one. They literally served it COLD, it was COLD FISH directly taken in that moment from the fridge, with uncooked (hard) potatoes and not cooked at all mushrooms... Again, one of the most disgusting meals I had not only in France but anywhere in the world. And I've traveled so much for work and leisure. Seriously, take your money to anywhere else. This place is not worth it. Bad food, bad service, bad company policy and not so great facilities for the price.

Ibis Budget Rueil Malmaison

Rueil-Malmaison|0.9km from downtown
This was a booking made at short notice and in a great hurry — we were attending a funeral nearby. I was concentrating on proximity, and Ibis budget was a great mistake. So here is a warning to others to take more time than I did. A very, erm, casual receptionist gave us the feeling that we were intruding on his personal space. Room BAD, BAD,BAD. 135 cm (4’6”) bed. No proper bathroom - loo in a tiny cupboard, difficult shower unit (hole in screen = water on bedroom floor), tiny washbasin in corner of room. Thin, miserable little towels, one each. There is no air-con — or rather, there is (apparently) “centrally controlled” air-con, but it certainly wasn’t coming through to our room! We were there during the most murderously hot day and night of the heatwave, and in a bid to avoid being reduced overnight to a pair of anonymous puddles of sweat, we slept with our window open. Mosquitoes? Of course. Did they bite us? You bet. They weren’t IBIS mosquitoes, of course, but they visited as a direct result of our having to leave the window open. When we arrived, a big notice on the reception desk stated, “This hotel is fully booked for tonight.” We had a reservation, so thought nothing of it.....until that evening, eating after sundown in the restaurant directly opposite, we noticed that in the dozens and dozens of Ibis windows facing us, only two lights were on. All other windows had their blinds pulled down identically to a uniform halfway mark that clearly indicated unoccupied rooms. At 8.00 next morning in the fully-stocked, crumb-free breakfast room we saw five other people. Fully booked? Hmmmmm......

AmAzing service great staff really clean abs comfortable. Fatima was especially great and maintaining the room between days we stayed. She was very helpful and showed me how to use nespresso machine. She did amazing job making sure the room was hoovered and clean. Philippe is the best hotel manager you will ever meet. He went above and beyond to help me with emails back forth, parking and even unloaded my car with me and helped my kids into hotel as I drove non stop from london. His English is very good and was able to give me advice on how to get around on metro the following day and brekky service. Edith is also a great manager and gave me directions on how to visit the grand mosque and some good local sightseeing places. She planned my metro routes and gave me directions to the nearest bakery/shop. All the staff are fab and friendly and the hotel is very comfortable. Highly recommend and will be back

The worst 3rd world experience. They overcharged me and when I tried to discuss the charges they all playing the run around game. Charged me for an infant in the room. I didn’t have a kid with me. (Like a 100 euros difference in taxes and fees) When I was leaving and asked for a taxi, the front desk guy called, what it seems the biggest taxi scammer in Paris. The guy overcharged me like 25 euros for the trip, blatantly claiming wrong mileage. My advice: AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE If you make the mistake to book this hotel: 1. USE UBER….Don’t rely on them calling you a taxi (unless you have tons of extra euros to spend) 2. Check your invoice and question them on every single bogus charge you see. 3. Check carefully whether they have pulled a fast one with adding more people to your room just to charge you more. Overall, I’m disappointed in you, Novotel. You really added a very bad aftertaste to this trip. I’ll NEVER EVER book with you anymore. Your chain doesn’t exist to me anymore.

The breakfast is very good, very quiet in the countryside, the surrounding is desolate, free to park, there is a hotel that is very comfortable with the car, the service staff is very polite, enjoy the five-star hotel, more than the hotel in Paris

Good welcome . Clean and quiet hotel. Easy for access to the A13 and to go to Paris (20 min approx) Breakfast less than 7€. Secure and free parking on weekends. Room at 52€ per night. We will come back! Only concern: not being chilly and not liking to sleep with your head up because the pillow is quite thin.

The hotel is in the center of Rueil-Mamaison at a very convenient location with respect to bus connections to Defense and Porte-Maillot where further connections to metro and RER are available. The hotel is nicely celan and staff polite and ready to do what a guesst might want from them.
