Such a lovely hotel, we had a wonderful time staying at Memmo Baleeira and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this hotel. It is very well run, the staff is clearly well trained and all is well thought through to fine details. Very clean, the restaurant is absolutely delicious, quality is consistent with a nice variety of options to suit all tastes - we kept returning several evenings during our stay as it was just so good. Breakfasts were excellent, and overall it is just a beautiful location and a pleasure to spend time here and we felt very well looked after.

Twelfth and penultimate stage of the Trilho dos Pescadores, which took us from Salema to Luz, the tourist center of the Algarve. The hotel is located about 1 km from the centre, surrounded by beautiful villas and easily reachable with a nice walk; our room was located in an annex, next to the main structure, with the accommodation arranged around a beautiful well-kept garden. The room was very large, with a king size bed, a comfortable sofa, chairs and desk, large wardrobe with safe, luggage stand, small fridge, TV on the desk. Bathroom with walk-in shower, and good quality towel sets. The hotel swimming pool was easily accessible via a gap in the garden fence. Very quiet stay and rest; breakfast was not included in the treatment.

The regulation is to check in at 6 o'clock in the evening, we arrived at 3 o'clock, and we were also checked in. A resort-like hotel with new facilities and a well-maintained appearance. The quality of salema beach itself is also very good, there are public toilets, small and beautiful beach.

The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable, and it is very comfortable and comfortable. Please be careful with what kind of accommodation you book, I made the mistake of booking a “twin room” for my elderly parents, it was the most basic of rooms and the only outside space was a tiny triangle of patio at the front of the flat (see pics) my parents had to ask for seats so they could sit out there. Again this is my fault NOT the hotel but I thought I needed to add this in for people who might be thinking of booking the budget room. Cons - The restaurant - if you want to eat at the restaurant you won’t be able to see what’s available on the menu until you have been seated, which can lead to embarrassment if like myself you're allergic to onions and everything on the menu seemed to contain onion so I had to get up in front of everyone and explain to the staff why I was leaving! I asked if there was an alternative which there was but was told if I wanted this I had to pay, having already paid for half board accommodation I found this to be very unfair as it’s an allergy not a choice.! I would suggest that in future to save any embarrassment you would put up the evenings menu where people can make a choice before entering the restaurant. The room itself was very basic no kettle meaning no options to make yourself a drink when wanted. The shower screen was leaking, had someone come out to fix this twice but it was still leaking and so had to keep putting towels on floor. No shuttle bus from hotel to town/beach as advertised on their website. Apparently it finished at the end of their season which isn’t what it said when I booked the holiday and the hotel was fully booked so really can’t understand why it wasn’t running. As other people have stated in these comments the pool chairs were filthy there were some really awful ones full of black stuff!! Pros- A choice of 2 swimming pools, the complex as a whole was very nice like a little village. The reception staff were very helpful and polite.

On arrival check in was slow but it gave us time to look around, we very much liked what we saw. The hotel is beautifully furnished, has a lovely dining room and lounge with gorgeous outdoor space with a lovely pool, loungers and shades. The situation of the hotel is a bit bleak but is in the process of being changed with plants etc. The gardens have a view to Cabo St. Vicente which of course, is the reason we were in the area in the first place, a must do visit. Sitting in the garden with lovely outdoor furniture you could here a pin drop, oh my word the calm was amazing. However, the evening meal left something to be desired. There are other options in the small town just a short walk away. Armazem being a simply amazing restaurant with wonderfully friendly staff. Dromedaria or A Sagres for good snacks all being in same little courtyard. Breakfast was good but was sad there was no fish of any kind. We would definitely return here if for nothing else only the wonder calmness.

My wife and I booked 7 nights in Montemar and I must say it has been a delight. It offers what you can expect from a 3 star hotel. The reception and staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, large enough and have a nice outside terrace. The WiFi works great so no qualms there. When we put the card out, our room was thoroughly cleaned. The only point I would improve is the breakfast area which is quite small. But all in all for the price a very good deal if you want to stay in Lagos.
