Golden Well

I’m 7 months behind writing this review, but had to put in to words, our experience here, and give the hotel the credit it deserves. How this hotel is 11th on the list for Prague surprises me. This was, by far, one of the most beautiful properties we’ve stayed in, and we travel a lot. From the arrival and check in to the driver taking us back to the airport, the quality was impeccable. The breakfast each morning was delicious, the room extremely spacious, the entire place impeccably clean and the views, breathtaking. Situated right underneath the castle and only a short walk to Charles bridge, we found the location to be fantastic. It was quiet and very safe. While many opt to stay in central Prague, it’s a short walk across the bridge and I found this area to be much more charming, and quieter, offering a good and restful night sleep. Note: You cannot drive a car up to the entrance. However, this only added to the charm (and exceptional privacy) of the hotel for us. It’s a relatively short walk from set-down point if arriving by taxi. The only criticism I have is that I found a cheaper rate through an online booking agent. I contacted the hotel directly to ask if they would provide the same rate, because I know they would have to pay commission. The lady who replied was rather abrupt in her reply and said no, that the rate quoted was the price. So, we booked through an agent. Shame, but overall, didn’t detract from the service or the quality of the hotel (we just got a much better rate :) :)). We would go back to Prague just to stay here again! An absolute favourite hotel for us! Thank you, Hotel Golden Well.

Unique stylish hotel. Great rooms and most excellent service by all hotel employees. Dinner on the upper terrace was a beautiful way to end a night. The hotel helped with setting up a city tour and a car to the train station. The hotel is located just below Prague Castle, which we accessed using the Prague tram system.
