Howard Johnson by Wyndham Omaha

Omaha|1.01km from Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium
Worst hotel experience I've had in my 71 years and that includes worldwide travel to include third-world countries. Good points about the motel: NONE Bad Points about the motel: 1) BLACK MOLD around tub and along baseboards by toilet. 2) NO SMOKE ALARM in room. Front desk staff refused to do anything about it or give me another room. Said no other rooms were available altho the parking lot was less than 1/2 full at 10:30 P.M. I was told the reason there was no smoke alarm was because it would go off when people smoked in the room. Note that this is a ”smoke free” facility. 3) Fire sprinkler head in room was wrapped in plastic so even if the system was activated it would not have done any good. 4) Only one small towel and one small bar of soap for both shower and bathroom needs. Had to argue for 10 minutes with the front desk clerk before he relented and brought 2 more towels. No bath mat or wash cloths. Other patrons commented to me they did not have any towels and asked if I had any. 5) Missing ceiling light globe in bathroom and 2 of 4 light bulbs missing from light over the bathroom sink. 6) Torn wallpaper in the room. 7) Grungy bedding and pillows. They seemed years old. 8) Room was dirty. Visible dirt on room heater and other areas. 9) TV didn't work. 10) Dirty coffee maker but no coffee pot or supplies. 11) No plastic drinking cups available; had to cup my hands under the facet in order to get a sip of water. 12) NO HOT WATER at all. 13) Free breakfast non-existent. Juice machine in the lobby but it did not work. No complimentary coffee in the front lobby area. 14) Construction debris throughout the hallways and stairs. Most doors to all the rooms had lots of dried drywall compound on them. 15) Torn/ripped carpets in the hallways. 16) Front desk staff was terrible. Very reluctant/refused to correct problems. Argumentative. Upon check-in, there was a lady with a service dog who was turned away because they would not allow a service animal. When checking out, I stood in an empty lobby at the front desk for 15 minutes after having rung their service bell several times. When a clerk did arrive, he could not (or would not) give me a receipt because he said ”you are not in our system.”

We had never booked at Sleep Inn before, but we needed something for a few hours rest. After checking the reviews on the travel sites, we decided to chance it. The room was clean and the front desk gentleman was friendly. Our bed was comfortable.

This is a nice clean hotel. The rooms offer a full fridge, microwave dishwasher, and stovetop. Very spacious! Seating room and bedroom area. Breakfast had hot food, fruit, and juices. The staff was helpful and polite. The pool was nice. Did have a lot of kids but that was ok. Great stay

Courtyard Omaha Downtown/Old Market Area

It's a pretty good location, walk to the old market area & 2 museums, although you pay $13 a night for parking. Should be better around there when Omaha finishes its construction - we didn't have any noise from it on the 4th floor. This is apparently a converted office building, with very high ceilings, very tall narrow window. Architecturally interesting, but the window let little light in during the day, and way too much light in at night, since the curtains did not close all the way. Minimal covering on the beds. Room was otherwise good, clean, enough lamps. There is a coffee maker & fridge, which you will need if you don't want to spend $$$ on a breakfast (not included) in their ”bistro.” Staff was pleasant & helpful.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Omaha Downtown Old Market

My husband and I stayed here just recently and we reported our room unclean and nothing was done about it, in fact, the housekeeper that came by to witness the room while we were still in the room lied about it by saying it wasn't dirty to a manager because she was obviously sticking up for her staff. We could not take a shower as the bathtub was dirty with long dark hair in the bottom of it. The furniture was dusty and carpet wasn't vacuumed. Also, the inside of the window sills were filthy and lastly we found some black stuff under our sheets in both beds. This is unacceptable and needs to be resolved. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and haven't had this issue before and we would never lie about it. Before we left we were told a manager would look at the room before they cleaned it and we found out the one in housekeeping looked at it again and lied to the manager again and the so called manager didn't bother inspecting the room. Terrible customer service here!
