After a disaster with Airbnb that placed us in front of the door without keys to access the accommodation, having to sleep 2:00 in the car waiting for a solution, we managed to find a room at 1:00 . We were out of a wedding and we were tired. In this hotel we managed to find a clean, welcoming bed. And our dear Ivan really welcomed us very well, listening, and carefully to our needs. Very Top!

Hello Firstly I’d like to say don’t listen to half these bad reviews . People that say it’s in the middle of no where clearly haven’t done any research prior to booking this hotel , which absolutely baffles me. El Campello and San Juan are a 10 minute cab journey or car if you have one away. Two beautiful beaches for the family or couples to enjoy. There’s a few small shops and bars 5 minute walk from hotel if you want something different. As for the hotel , it’s been updated since we last went , rooms currently still under going refurbs , we had top floor overlooking the pool it was a stunning view every morning and a very spacious room for me and my kids and wife. We have stayed at this hotel twice before and also my parents have had apartments they bought in the bonalba complex. For me personally to not have many English there is bliss I don’t come away on holiday to see English , I like the culture of the Spanish and the fact I try to speak some to which is good. No idea why people say it’s not a clean hotel , there was a cleaner in the toilets every single morning without fail , spotless and the pool area was so clean every time we went down there. Food was a great selection we had full board , every meal we had was brilliant and the staff always stocked up when the buffet got low on food. I will say if you don’t like waiting in queues or waiting in general to be served for drinks at the bar or reception then this isn’t the place for you neither is any of Spain 😂 they are very relaxed people and they take there time and you have to respect that. Overall for me I had a fantastic 8 days got back yesterday , my kids loved it and I will give one more special mention to AMY the animation team , she is outstanding with kids I mean the best I’ve ever seen with them , she is truly gifted, made everyone feel welcome always smiling , loads of energy and she had kids around her all day they were in awe of her , my three children loved her , please show her this review whoever reads this from hotel bonalba , I forgot to say bye to her as couldn’t find her on final day ( just say to her I was the dad of Jenson and Rocco the twins ) from south London she will know who we are , she’s not back until Tuesday night I believe so maybe she could read it then I wish her the best in life ,a superb dancer too. The room was opened with a strong smoke smell that was increasing when it entered and was unsupportable in the bathroom. We call the responsible (nobody in the reception, it's all automated), requesting a change of room. Once there he excused saying it was “a ventilation problem” and that he would not give us another room, nor a financial compensation or any other alternative. The room was paradoxically full of signs of banned smoking under a fine of €100, but no one was going to check it. We then request the complaint sheet, denying it at that time because it is not available in the establishment (with a obligation to do so), so we have to warn the police to come to our help. Thanks to the police, despite repeated refusal to go to collect the said sheet, and under a warning of law enforcement, they went to collect the sheet of complaints. In addition, the location is not the quality-price, being a disorbited price (100€), a place away from the center, without reception, without possibility of breakfast, badly soundproofed The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.

Hotel with good location, in front of the beach, good service and good breakfast

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We didn't want to stay in the centre of Alicante but wanted to be close to the beach. San Juan beach is across the road/tram tracks and there are a few beach restaurants/bars along the beach strip. These restaurants mainly serve Mediterranean cuisine and seafood, and we ate at Casa Domingo which was great. There are also bars and restaurants a few streets away from the hotel among the residential area. We spotted some sports bars, burger places and pizza places around that area. The hotel grounds are lovely with a nice garden and pool area. There is also a pool bar and music playing while you lounge beside the pool. The hotel had outdoor bar and restaurant seating areas which was lovely at night and for breakfast in the morning. We ate tapas in the restaurant a few nights and enjoyed the food. The breakfast selection was really good, a mix of hot and cold foods, breads, fruits etc and I enjoyed the lovely cold Spanish omelette slice every morning!! There is a Consum supermercado about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, and a pharmacy too. The supermarket is quite big and has everything you need. Our room faced out the front of the hotel and we had a pool view as the pool is across from the front entrance to the hotel. The balcony was nice and clean and we could dry our towels on the railing. The room was nice, clean and modern and the air conditioning was amazing during the 30+ degree heat. There's a fridge and a kettle so it was handy to keep some drinks chilled. Our only quibble was the shower was missing a door so it was impossible not to get the floor wet, even with the floor towel. It's not a big issue but the hotel should really have a shower door to avoid unnecessary damage to their flooring. The reception staff were really nice, as were the restaurant and bar staff. The tram stop to get to Alicante city centre is about 5 minutes away from the hotel. You can pay on the tram by card and can select English on the machine. It's about 2.90euro to travel to the city centre and takes about 15 mins. It was a really nice location if you want to spend time by the lovely San Juan beach or by the pool. If you do want more action at night, the tram will bring you to the city and taxis are reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again!

- Hey, We had a good stay, The hotel is very nice overall. With a very large hall and several places to sit to drink or to put. A bar with affordable prices, a restaurant and a swimming pool complete this hotel. The hotel has a sports room but it is not accessible. It should be called to a coach you will have to find and pay for yourself. That's so much to say that it's not useful. Very bad.
