Mountain View Hotels in George Town

My stay Urban Suites at was fantastic, and the self-check-in process made it even better! The instructions were clear and easy to follow, allowing me to settle in seamlessly without any hassle, even though I arrived late in the afternoon. The property itself was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed to make guests feel right at home. The room was well-equipped with all the essentials, and the attention to detail was impressive. What I loved most was the perfect balance between privacy and convenience. The self-check-in system gave me the freedom to come and go as I pleased. The location was excellent, close to key attractions and local amenities. It was the perfect base for exploring while still offering a quiet and peaceful retreat. Overall, it exceeded my expectations. The self-check-in feature made everything so smooth, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stress-free and comfortable stay. 5/5 stars!

This must be highly praised. There were no comments when booking the room, but I still booked it even though I was hesitant because it was new. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. Not only was it new, but the details were also well done. It was like a well-decorated and comfortable new home with everything, even snacks, coffee, and board games. It was so thoughtful. After adding WeChat, you showed concern in various ways, introduced delicious and fun things, and even when we checked out and went to Ipoh, you continued to help recommend delicious food in Ipoh. You didn't seem like a landlord or tenant, but like a friend I've known for many years. It's an honor to have you as my friend, and I will definitely look for you next time I go to Penang.

What a lovely hotel! For the price I was paying, I was not expecting much. But everything, from the hospitality to the room, was amazing! The room itself is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, and wonderful to come back to after a long day of wandering. The air conditioner works great, the shower has actual hot water (not a given in Malaysia, I've found), and the bed is comfortable. The hotel provides extra little touches, like fantastic, thick, large towels for the bathroom and daily water bottles. Netflix and Youtube are connected through the tv, so you always have options. And I was thoroughly impressed by the housekeeping staff, who seemed to do a deep-deep clean every morning. The location is excellent. It's not in the center of downtown, so you don't have the noise and craziness, but it's only a short walk away. Even better, it's super close to Komtar, the main bus terminal. If you are going anywhere too far to walk (or if you don't want to walk far when it's 90 degrees outside!) the free CAT bus and all of the other intracity buses are only a couple of blocks away. It was perfect for coming in on the ferry - I hopped on the free CAT bus, got off at Komtar and walked 5 minutes. I understand as well that the hotel will lend out bikes for use of the guests, but that's not my thing. Something that won't matter to a lot of people, but I loved, was that there are 3 incredible vegan restaurants within a 5-minute walk of the place and great coffee places only a block or two away. Wifi was good. Other than a blip one night when it was slow (I think it was a provider thing, not the hotel), I was getting 15mbps download speed. If I return to Penang, this will definitely be where I stay. Highly recommend!

I booked this because of the gym and swimming pool. It fulfilled all my needs. Also the room was facing the sea where I could even see fireworks one night. The host was incredible as he’s helpful and talks like a friend. The room was clean. Just make sure you bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste as it’s not a hotel. Restaurants and night market are 5-10 mins walk to the left once you exit the building.

Overall the experience of the stay is good The space is big, clean and the facility etc. fridge, water dispenser, washing machine, dryer…..are  new and nice. The view from the suite was beautiful too

I would give this hotel a 10/10 rating if I could do it. We’ve spent 2 weeks touring around the Georgetown area and found this gem of a hotel towards the end of our trip. We actually stayed in a hotel a few blocks from it when we first arrived in Georgetown. The staff are amazing so friendly and helpful, the building is well maintained and well thought out. We asked for a room with a view and it was very roomy and well organized. It’s in a great location that puts you in walking distance of old Georgetown and also a short GRAB ride to anywhere in the city. It exceeded my expectations!!! We came to Penang to see if it would be a good place to retire. CitiVilla will be our first destination as we plan to return next winter for an extended stay. A word of advice to anyone coming to Malaysia and other countries in Asia. Windowless rooms are common and be aware that they don’t always meet western fire safety regulations for exits. Always ask to view the room before you take it.

I heard about this hotel somewhere and tried it by myself. What can I said, this is the best 4-star hotel in Penang. The service from front desk & staff are very helpful and good. The room given is amazingly great. Spacious room with bed, clean toilet, good water flow and small balcony. All the amenities provided works well and completed. Breakfast included with the price is average but still got a lot of choices. Access to beach is provided, very easy. Swimming pool standard but actually big. This hotel located at very strategic places that you can find out so many attraction places and also food shop. Great!

perfect location for travel with family, the view very beatiful, i booking 3 day 2 night with seaview room, the hotel servis very good at counter n the staff very friendly, what ever i reqs, the alway accept n sent into the room, only buggy luggage very bad service n disspointed, i reqs to sent at car parking cause i park to far, but this guys reject to sent me n my family time checkout, so bad service n i have to carries my luggage with my son n husb.

We stayed at the Shangri-la Rasa Sayang resort as part of a journey down memory lane. Having lived in Penang in my childhood I was visiting with my wife after over 40-years and the only place I wanted to stay was this hotel where I had once been as a young boy. I’m glad to say that the hotel not only fulfilled my emotional needs but stands tall for its prime beach location, grand design, lush gardens, amazing buffet, and exotic ocean views. The reception staff recognized my milestone birthday at check in and sent us a bottle of red wine 😊 which was a great start. Our room had one of the best views from the balcony (most rooms have a good view) and a very comfortable bed, fully equipped bathroom and amenities. Outside the buffet in the morning are two hawkers preparing Teh Tarik and Kaya Toast while the buffet itself includes Malaysian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Western, and bakery sections. It’s a large dining area inside but also a lot of garden seating with ocean views. We got massages on the beach both days (which I highly recommend) and my wife also got a facial at their spa. Ours was the Garden Wing which is newer with an artistic pool area but the adjacent Rasa Wing which dates back to the original hotel is also equally good. The Batu Ferringhi road is lined with hotels and hawker markets which really come alive at night…we did walk through them once but preferred to relax in the resort itself. It’s a 20-25-min drive from Georgetown and about 30-45-min from the Penang bridge. If you’re looking to get the best in terms of a relaxing holiday and ease of access to other parts of Penang, I would highly recommend this hotel!
