Great location. A wonderful feel of a small community/village. Rooms are clean and spacious. The hosts are very nice and always there to cater for any need. Many places in campground to have your own bonfire. the Breakfast is a bit lean and too simple compare to what you usually gets in Israel. Don't forget to bring your own towels and shampoo - for some reasons they don't provide those. Bottom line recommended!

Desert Shade is an eco-camp, not a 5-star resort. Accommodations are basic but clean. The view of the crater and nearby hiking is gorgeous. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was EXCELLENT! Recommended!

great place - clean simple rooms, great public area for box games and relaxing, beafutiful location in the desert. we came 3 families with kids and we all enjoyed the stay very much. we cooked our dinner on a barn-fire on the first night and dined out on the second night. great location for hiking.

My sister and I spent 5 days at Desert Shade. This was my second visit and not much has changed. The owners Ziv and Maya are very friendly and made us feel welcome. It's a wonderful relaxing place with a carefree a**osphere and close to shops, public transport and the machtesh (crater). The sunrise each morning is spectacular and directly in front of you and hiking along the crater rim is as easy as walkng out the back gate. We also enjoyed day trips to the surrounds which were organised by Ziv when requested. Thanks again to all the staff and hope to return again in the future. We had a great time.

the place is very special but if you like desert enviroment its clean with very good hospitlity . we liked it were a couple .but prever hotel room with shower included . still enjoyed there and recommend it for views and sunrise .

La vue est superbe mais le lieu est pourri (pardon mais c’est vraiment le mot qui convient)…c’est laid, mal fait, non entretenu…l’éco Lodge a bon dos pour nous servir des cabanes ultra bas de gamme pour 135 euros la nuit!! Et l’accueil vraiment médiocre, en fait ils ne sont pas accueillants, pas souriants, pas sympas…on ne fait pas un lieu pour les touristes quand on n’aime pas les gens. A fuir, passez votre chemin.
