All in all, a memorable visit for my 60th birthday.

Gorgeous stay at this lovely hotel. It was my birthday and it was great to be able to check in early when we got there just after 12 noon. Our room was fantastic, the bed and linens divine and the bathroom huge with lovely gels, soaps etc. We had booked afternoon tea and it was superb with some more unusual sweet offerings. Cocktails and a cheese platter later that night when we returned from seeing some Comedy Festival acts capped our night off beautifully. We had a late checkout so plenty of time to enjoy the fantastic breakfast with everything you'd expect to be on offer. It looked like there was a delicious make-your-own pho-style soup for vegans available too. The staff were terrific. A number of them had little badges on that advised they were in training but you'd never know - service from everyone was polished, pleasant and efficient. Truly service to a high standard worthy of this lovely property. Yes, there's a big building site next door as a new underground station is being constructed - dont let that put you off, you'd never know it was going on once you are inside. No doubt that this is our new favourite hotel in Melbourne - a truly polished but warm and friendly offering to high standard.

We chose QWS because it is superbly located for the city and cultural quarter but without any road noise. Not cheap, but worth every penny. Really friendly staff who give you their time, nothing too much trouble and a very good breakfast choice. We stayed for 6 nights and loved every minute of our stay. Being an apartment type hotel with residents meant that we were treated as guests not simply people passing through. We had a late flight back to London and Stephen kindly arranged for us to freshen up in a room before departing for the airport. To top it all we were upgraded to a lovely suite on the 8th floor without even asking. What a welcome. If only all accommodation providers could match the customer service we received holidays would always be great. Well done team QWS !!

It’s an old hotel and needs upgrading. Pool area is a disaster, dull and ugly. Very outdated decor. Hallway dark and gloomy. The bedroom was worn out. Bed head material was coming apart. Not a 5 star hotel and definitely not value for money. There are much newer and cheaper hotels in Melbourne with better amenities. The one thing that was fabulous was the breakfast. Amazing variety, wonderful staff and lovely ambience. The location of the hotel is also great and convenient as it is close to amazing restaurants and bars. The pillows were also comfortable.

Stayed here as a Diamond Ambassador in an iconic suite - Check in experience was great, warm welcome, benefits acknowledged and welcome drink provided. Amazing room, ridiculous amount of space, comfortable bed, great little office/working area. Unfortunately, the general level of service/care factor is lacking especially when staying in a room costing over 1k a night! One of my complimentary water bottles was open/used and about half empty, yuck. Later that day I wanted to use my $25 credit on the minibar 200ml bottle of gin (which is listed as inclusive of 4 mixers). Gin was missing from the mini bar I couldn't find it. Called down to reception to ask if it was by request, they assured me it should be there and would send someone up. Waited 2 hours and no one came which frustrated me as I was waiting so called down again and was assured someone was on the way. Someone did arrive with a huge bag full of everything except the gin. When questioned didn't seem to know what I was talking about, I had to point to it on the minibar menu and was met with a very confused expression, he left. Then about 30 minutes later a different person arrives with the gin bottle, success. However upon checkout there were a bunch of mini bar items charged which I hadn't consumed, and in fact were not even missing. I hate having to have that conversation but after only 3 words they were ”happy to remove them” which makes me think this isn't an uncommon occurrence. I later noticed that the mixers were charged as well where as they should have been included with the gin purchase cost, but I couldn't be bothered wasting my time to try and sort it out. Club lounge service was attentive but did fill up and get quite busy in the evenings however my drink was always topped up and the staff there were friendly and engaging. Temperature control seems non-existent in the room and I'm convinced it makes no difference what you set it to. I had my do not disturb on until mid morning, so as I was leaving for the day dropped by reception and said I may have missed housekeeping and could they have someone make up the room. Arrived back a few hours later and it hadn't been done. All up a real mixed bag here, but can't help feel my simple requests were a bother and inconvenience.

There is no rail to hold onto when getting in or out, which makes it dangerous, especially as it gets slippery. There is a pool and gyn which were modern and accessible. The room we had faced into the mezzanine of the hotel so you dont get any light from outside, which was strange. The room was very quiet and had a good air conditioner. Overall, we would stay here again, although the lack of being able to see outside wasn't ideal, and if you stayed for more than one night, it could be an issue.

The hotel is situated in a prime location within walking distance of the shops and laneways in the city. The AC and the hari dryer in the first room did not work. The staff moved us into another room, but we had to pack everything we unpacked and resettle in again. These basic amenities should be checked prior to letting the room. The second room we were moved into had lots of hair/ fur on the carpet. We only noticed it the next day and was fed up by then as we were checking out in a few more hours.

Given the rate we paid for our accommodation I was dubious as to what we were going to find. And my low expectations couldn't have been further off. The Vibe Hotel is excellent! Location is fabulous with trams out front, off site parking within stones throw (and with a voucher making it cheap as chips for city parking) heated indoor pool to name a few. The rooms aren't huge but are exceptionally comfortable with all the amenities that you need. Breakfast was excellent and given it was included in the rate, was an extra wow factor as I was expecting something simple (continental) but nope! All the staff we encountered were lovely, helpful and just added to a great stay overall! Only 4 star rating I would give was with sleep quality - but that was my choice of room location. There was some street noise (city views were worth any noise issue though) but it certainly didn't keep us awake. It may be a bother to some though.

Good location, convenient to go anywhere. The commercial music downstairs in the evening is a bit noisy, probably after 22:00. It’s very convenient to eat, leaving it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. The ugly. We stayed on the second floor with a laneway directly behind our room. Very regularly, every night, there was a loud sound of compressed air escaping from a vessel of some sort which reverberated in the confined space between buildings. It was loud enough to wake you up if you weren’t in a deep sleep. You could hear it over the TV and other background noise. The time interval between the compressed air escaping was about the time it took us to ALMOST get to sleep. By the third night we were sick of the lack of sleep and went to a chemist to buy earplugs. Although they helped, they didn’t block all the noise from the compressed air. But we were SO tired by then we finally got to sleep. The bad. The bed wasn’t too bad, but the pillows were just about ready to put outside for the dog to sleep on. One had a bit of ‘body’ left in it, the other was completely deflated. Had to fold in half to get my head up high enough to keep my neck from aching. (At least the pain in my neck distracted me from the air compressor noise!) The rooms aren’t serviced. The room smelt a bit ‘enclosed’. Like the wardrobe smell you get in a cupboard you haven’t opened for a long while. Carpets could have done with a steam and perfume? It wasn’t bad enough to cause concern though. Just an indication of the level of service. Bathroom mouldy. The good. The motel was very central, which was very handy. Trams practicality on every corner. 720 restaurants/bars/cafes within 500m radius of motel. The one staff member we met was very nice and friendly. There was plenty of steaming hot water in the shower.
