The Feathers Hotel

A superb small hotel A five star service for a modest price The food was excellent, the room spacious, modern but also with many historic features. A jewel of a place. I was pleasantly surprised as I wasn’t expecting this level of service, facilities and food for the price I was paying. I would strongly recommend it.

Only had bar drinks . Very very expensive a pint of beer and medium glass of wine 16.30!!!! Not much else to say. Lovely old d building.

Went a few weeks ago to get a coffee from the new Starbucks. Had to hunt for a member of staff, children running behind the counters and a meeting for a wake being conducted in a public area. I’m sure The Feathers is more professional than that

I have never been more disappointed in a hotel that I was looking so forward to staying in my life. We stayed for B/B & Evening meal for my husbands 80th birthday. The staff were so unhelpful especially on the reception and the service in the restaurant was abysmal. The room was so small and the bathroom you could just about swing a cat in. The food left a lot to be desired I ordered a steak and sent it back there was so much grizzle on it. I would definitely not stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

Rare combination - beautiful and great value . Inside it’s quaint , a bit wonky and stuck somewhere between 1960 and 1980. The staff are tremendous and the breakfast was fantastic. You have to take it as it is.. the hotel’s been there since 1619. Ludlow itself is a wonderful place for a short break with lots of great restaurants and shops. I need nothing more. Can’t wait to return

Fantastic building from the 1600’s I believe. We booked a deluxe double room, lots of room, really comfy bed, quirky slanted room full of character. Great location in Ludlow. Car park is £5 for the night on site if you can get a space, bit tight. Otherwise another carpark 2 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend a stay.

We had a voucher from travelzoo for a two course meal with wine so arrived at our allotted time. Waited at the bar for ages for someone to help us. We were told to go into one of the bar areas where we sat at a table which needed wiping. Eventually our wine arrived which was nice. We both ordered the cheese soufflé which was nice but served in a bowl which was odd but Heyho. I had the trout which was fine but odd that it came with spicy biryani rice. My husband had the veggie pie which was awful. Just a load of veg sitting in oil with a crust. Bland fluffy frozen roast potatoes with very odd tasting spinach. We would not return. Staff pleasant enough but seemed out of their depth. Didn’t like the place much either. Much better places to eat in Ludlow.

Another good stay at the Feathers. The a**osphere is always convivial and the surroundings fabulous. Amid all the history, you are left wondering how many others have enjoyed hospitality here over the centuries, sitting in those same rooms, and waking those same cranking corridors… The food was good, though slightly more restricted in choice than I recall from our previous visit. Breakfast very tasty and nicely presented… but not an enormous portion. If I’ve any more substantial criticism though, it’s that the check in & out, at 1600 and 1000 respectively, is a bit mean. Yes - we’d like to stay longer at the Feathers, and largely because it’s a decent place to be.

Has to be one of the best things about Ludlow. Our stay was an absolute joy. The hotel a**osphere was calm, relaxed, friendly and welcoming. We ate evening meals and breakfasts and found the food great and the service exceptional. Nicky and Ben in particular went above and beyond to help make our stay smooth and a treat - not easy with a determined toddler. Our room was immaculate, comfortable and well equipped. The whole hotel was extremely clean. We would highly recommends it and will return.
