(Note that star rating is based on value/dollar.) This is one of the most reasonable hotels within a walk/cheap ride to the convention center. It's about a 25 minute walk, Uber was about $7. It's modest, but the rooms are comfortable and well kept. The housekeeping was actually on a par with far more luxurious hotels. (Remember to tip your housekeepers!) The fridge and coffee maker were handy and there's a Thai and Chinese restaurant next door, a high-end Korean restaurant across the street and a very good Mexican place a couple of blocks east. Be wary of the Chinese place. No prices are posted and I think they may overcharge tourists. The air conditioner had a problem, but it was fixed the next day. It was one of those in-wall kinds that was fairly loud. On the downside, the wireless internet connection was remarkably slow, consistently under 2mbps with 4 bars of signal as measured by Ookla. Make sure you've completed all your updates and don't even think of streaming any video. My phone, showing two bars was getting 30mbps via AT&T.

When I first arrived I was telling the guy at the desk that I had two reservations I cancelled one, but there should be another that I have already prepaid. Well he pretty much was saying he don’t see a paid room as I have the confirmation receipt on my phone in my hand. the lady (his co worker) reviewed my receipt for the room purchase and searched by my middle name. They found my reservation… okay, they were out of one beds. So we walk to our room and it’s literally a jail no city view, just a view of other hotel windows and a vent on the second floor. I mean that’s ridiculous for the price so make sure y’all checking the view before paying all that money! Remind you the guy already pushed back on me regarding my prepayment so was he being rude? I think so honestly. So I Go back to the desk to get another room with a better view because at this point I was disgusted, new room still have 2 beds but it was on 8th floor with a good view so I was okay with it, better than the first room. Going off of reviews and pictures I thought this hotel would be nice but it’s really old looking I made the best out of it but I would never book here again sorry not sorry.

We stayed at the Live Hotel this past week for three nights. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was odd. One day they had sausage and no eggs then the next day boiled eggs and no bacon or sausage. I found that odd. The beds were comfortable and the rooms seem to have been updated. However The area the hotel is in is awful. The neighborhood is not good. Trash and graffiti is everywhere you look. We did not feel safe walking anywhere. This was my first time visiting Los Angeles and I have to say I was so disappointed in the city and their lack of at least picking up trash and doing anything to control the graffiti. To put it bluntly the neighborhood is filthy. Parking is $11.00 per night which I thought was a bit much but they did have security at night to make up for the fee. The Korean BBQ across the street was delicious and that is as far as we ventured out walking. Even though the hotel was in itself nice and very clean I will not be staying there again simply because of the area. Los Angeles has a serious trash and graffiti problem that they need to address. I rated this hotel 3 stars mainly because of the horrible location.

Location - located on Figueroa Street across the street from the USC campus. Proximity to USC is the biggest winner for this Radisson. Accommodations - The lobby was basic, one story with a small front desk and small pool antey. The gym was basic with 2 treadmills and 2 ellipticals and weights up to 35 OK lbs.. The rooms are decent size and well maintained with nice decor. The bathrooms can stand to be updated though. Service - The front desk folks are OK but the hotel policies really bring it down overall. We stayed at the hotel during move in week and weekend (5 days 4 nights) but were not given a water bottle like everyone else, that was weird. We received some Amazon boxes while there and were charged $5/box after the 3rd box but were not told in advance from the hotel that they would charge us, so they basically held the packages I ordered for my daughter's move in hostage.

I stayed in this hotel October3 through October 6 2019. My boyfriend was driving to LA to meet me and we were going to stay at the hotel. I was getting to LA around noon and I requested early check in. I was told I needed to call back. I called back and was told maybe by 1:30pm but I would need to call back. I called back and was told maybe by 2pm. Each time I called the phone rang and rang. Sometimes it just went to voicemail. Finally at 2pm I went to the lobby and was given a room key. I was then told we could only park one car per room at the hotel. My boyfriend had to park at a meter that we had to feed every two hours. I asked the front desk how much for an additional car and they said they can not accommodate. I asked for a nearby garage and they didn’t know of any. Saturday night we came back to the hotel after spending an exhausting day in LA and there was no street parking available at 10pm at night. We spent an hour driving around and trying to find a space or a parking garage without any luck. We went to the front desk for a suggestion for a parking garage and the clerk had no idea. I finally found a 24 hour garage 1.5 miles away. The next day we tried to check out a day early and they said since we had booked through hotels.com we would have to call hotels.com. I called hotels.com and they called the hotel right away and then told me all I had to do was go to the front desk and I would get refunded one night stay that I had already been charged since I wouldn’t be using it. The guy at the front desk took my card to issue me the refund but said it was declined. How can a refund be declined? He said he didn’t know call my bank. I called my bank and they said there was no reason I couldn’t get the refund on my card. There were no holds or alerts and they didn’t show any declined transactions on their end. The guy at the front desk just shrugged his shoulders and said the problem was with my card. I now have to file a dispute through my bank to get the charge reversed. I called the hotel and it rang and rang and sent me to voicemail. I would not stay again and would not recommend anyone stay there because if you run into any hitches and difficulty during your stay you are out of luck. The hotel will not help you and will just take your money.

It was a Great Hotel, the location is great, very well connected to subway, lots of restaurant and fast-food around. The rooms and the facility is great, especially the 7th floor pool deck the staff there are very friendly, room is very comfortable and spacious, clean, have all amenities I needed, including the slippers which I used for the pool side. Some of the receptionist are very friendly, courteous especially the girl who extended my checkout time and the gentlemen Manny they made me feel home, also the concierge gentleman, I am from Asia and you definitely need people like them to make you comfortable. on the other had there were some receptionist who don't even want to smile, a smile cost nothing, it is because of these couple of them that the hotel might not get the guest back. Over all I will for sure come back again and there is no need for me to stay in other places, i use to stay in sheraton grand, but now I recommend this hotel and also myself will stay here again for sure. Amazing room. Extremely clean and comfy bed!!

Could easily be zero stars. Original room was 93 degrees upon check in, the air conditioning unit was poor by anyone's standard, we asked to switch rooms. They did not offer to come get our bags, or move us to a new room so we brought our luggage back down to the front desk. We were then given a second room. Again, no offer made to accompany us and see if the new room was up to standards. This room was 92 degrees upon entry. After a second phone call, they sent up staff to change the filters on the AC unit. That team told us the AC was functioning well and blowing cold air (it was blowing cold air as if you had a few ice cubes in your mouth and blew on my neck) and to use the blackout curtains (after a sort of condescending explanation of what blackout curtains do) and give it some time for the AC to work. We went out to dinner for about two hours and came back to a nice cool 87 degree room. We once again took our belongings back downstairs. We were then told by the front desk staff that since we booked a room with a king size bed all of those rooms faced the sun and would all have similar problems (why would that be an acceptable answer?) and they could do nothing more for us since they accommodated us once already. I had no idea their idea of accommodating someone was to put them in a room with the same problem that the previous room had but what do I know, I am not in the hospitality industry. We were then told that the hotel was completely booked so no further ”accommodations” could be made. We asked for a refund and this is the first time they reacted with some conviction, they were happy to let us leave. Must be nice to be able to turn away business. At no time were there any apologies, any remorse, just matter-of-factly let us leave. My wife and I don't argue or yell, we never feel its worth it, but we left angry and hotel-less on a Saturday night in Los Angeles. We scrambled to find a new hotel but the damage was done, they took our entire Saturday away from us, which no refund could ever compensate for, they temporarily took our joy to be in town on our own as we are parents and do not get much time away. We did take our business elsewhere, to a Hilton, they seem to understand that to relax you need a room that is slightly cooler than a sauna. We were able to salvage the remaining days of our trip. Also the elevators at the Freehand are old (charming?) and constantly in use because of the rooftop bar so it took us waiting for a few packed elevators to get up and down to the hot AF rooms which probably added to our level of frustration. But it was mostly the Sahara like environment of the hot room. Did I mention the rooms were hot? Also maybe use a free hand to open a book on what hospitality looks like, I think your staff may be surprised. (see what I did there?)

The room is relatively small and comfortable, but the shower gel in the room ran out and was not replenished in time. The lobby is on the highest floor and the view is okay. You can have a panoramic view of Los Angeles city. There is an outdoor bar on the lobby level with heating lights in winter, so you can take photos of the night view. The waffles for breakfast were delicious, crispy and punchy. The check-in instructions given when checking in stated that there are 30 credits per day, remember to use it, and it cannot be used on the day of departure, so it will be counted from the day of check-in~ Friendly reminder: Remember to check the water bill carefully to see if there are any duplicate taxes and fees when booking with Ctrip😃

Near metro and grand Central station, hotel provided shampoo soap. Room Was clean. Room was a little tight for 2 person with 2 luggages. Downside was there is no convenience store or supermarket nearby which opens at night when we went back to our hotel.
