Los Angeles
I was so excited to stay here. I arrived about 5pm and our room was not available to strike one so they gave us tokens for free drinks at the poolside, while we were there we waited to see if anyone will come up to us and offer drinks and nothing so I decided to go up to the bar. We ordered our drinks and when paying with the tokens the bartender made it clear to me that her tip was not included with the tokens strike 2.. made me feel like I couldn't afford it, so we decided to go have dinner, we finished dinner after 6pm and still not call my room was available so I decided to go ask..when I get there all of a sudden our room is available. We go up to our room and its the wrong one strike 3 when going back to the lobby I found a gentleman walking our luggage up so I let him know our room was not the one I reserved he apologized and walked me down to the lobby.. when we were in the lobby they apologized and gave me a discount for the mixed up.. the agreed that was not the room I reserved and was going to send wine and cheese up to our room.. never received the wine strike 4. The next morning we decided to check out I told the gal there about my horrible experience so they waved the valet also when I got my bill they added other charges of $90 and gave me a discount of $60 . Yea the other charges were added to offset the discount. I felt so uncomfortable never going back again, I'm still sad about my family trip that was ruined and made us feel unwelcome. Never had this experience ever

The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles

Downtown Los Angeles Los Angeles|2.25km from downtown
The Ritz-Carlton Los Angles is one of our most favorite hotels but on our recent trip it was a whole new level for two reasons 1) super sweet upgrade (thanks Bonvoy Ambassador team)and 2) club level access. The Room The Executive Suite is a stunning room. The hotel offers several configurations. Some have a half bath, some offer a connecting room and some are accessible. Regardless of configurations all offer a spacious living/dining room, spectate bedroom, stunning bathroom and killer views. The executive suite is great for couples looking for a bit of extra space (more than a thousand square feet) to spread out, families or those travel on business and need space for work. Club Lounge If you’ve never had the opportunity to experience the Ritz-Carlton Club Level it is an experience to be had. Unfortunately Ritz-Carlton does not offer elite access to the club level so you’ll have to pay for it - Burd it’s worth it. The offerings vary by hotel but this club offers a full hot breakfast, lite lunch mid day, snacks, evening appetizers and desserts, beer and wine all day and evening cocktail service. This is all included in the room rate along with an incredible concierge team. The Hotel The hotel is tranquil, private and offers discrete luxury. Even though the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton share a building the experiences can not be anything farther from each other. From the private lobby, to beautiful rooms, to the well equipped fitness center to the tranquil rooftop pool The Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles does not disappoint.

Chinatown

Royal Pagoda Motel Dodger Stadium

Royal Pagoda Motel Dodger Stadium

Los Angeles|0.52km from Chinatown
DO NOT STAY HERE! The biggest problem with this motel is the parking. There are a limited number of parking spots for guests of the motel. The staff failed to mention that it is PUBLIC parking not private parking for The Royal Pagoda Motel guest. Meaning anyone can park there, when ever they want, as long as they want. When booking a room I brought up the concern of the limited parking. The motel employee I spoke to said there is more parking on the side. I thought they meant on the side of the motel, another parking lot or garage. NOPE! He meant against the side of the main building of the motel with the very small parking lot. Nearby Chinatown has a very active night life so forget about parking in the street. If you leave for the evening and return later that night here is what they do when there is absolutely no legal parking. They will have you park against the side of the building or have you double park or triple park. Basically they will fill up the driveway of the parking lot blocking other cars in. A motel employee will ask for your room number and phone number. They will call you to move your car if you are blocking someone who needs to get their car out. Yes even at 2 a.m. when you are asleep. Myself and a few other guests of the motel had to move our cars for a non-guest of the motel. I asked the employee who called me to move my car how this person got an actual spot and he said he had no idea. While moving our cars the employee was trying to direct the non-guest out of the parking lot I witnessed a hit and run. The non-guest backed into a parked car in the motel parking lot. That driver and the motel employee acted like nothing had happened. At this point there was finally street parking. I felt my car would be safer parked out on the street a block away from the motel. And the other motel guests who had to move their cars were fighting for whatever space was available in the motel parking lot. Another thing is that the rooms are very small and this motel is old. Several electrical outlets in my room did not work. I could not plug in my phone or laptop chargers. Plus the parties in the Chinatown may end at a certain time but that doesn’t stop people from coming into the motel to keep the party going.

Kimpton Everly Hotel Hollywood, an IHG Hotel

Hollywood Los Angeles|0.31km from Hollywood Walk of Fame
Pros: 1. Location, location, location. It’s in the center of everything. 2. Great bar and socializing area downstairs with a complimentary glass of wine at happy hour. 3. The views from the higher floors are incredible. 4. Comfy beds and room amenities are lovely. 5. The hotel gym has a TON of great equipment. Rogue everything. Best I’ve ever seen, really. 6. Free coffee until 10:30 ish. Nice since the Starbucks down the street has closed. 7. Food portions are generous, and the food is fantastic. 8. The staff especially the front desk staff are very very professional and kind. Cons: 1. The restaurant downstairs is not open until 11 as advertised. They stop cooking early - closer to 10:30. Imagine my and about 5 other parties surprise when coming down to find everything packed away and the grill shut down. Just change the hours to 10:30 so folks aren’t hangry and disappointed. It’s off putting and incongruent with the otherwise welcoming and accommodating services of this hotel. 2. My room’s trash bin had the previous guest’s trash in it. I’ve never had this happen before. Didn’t ruin my stay but eww. 3. The wine list is small and the pours are stingy. Maybe 4 oz. Just something that would make an athlete’s day: Offer a full protein (paleo) meal option or protein shake/smoothie option in the downstairs cooler. This is such a great health-conscious hotel so it would be awesome to have nutrition options to match.

The suite with a kitchen in the hotel is really great. The equipment is very new and the kitchen utensils are complete. You can cook for yourself. I stayed for five nights. It was a very pleasant experience and the price is not too expensive. It is recommended that Chinese friends come to Los Angeles to choose the suite with kitchen here, life is very comfortable.

We recently stayed on the 8th (top) floor in a deluxe king room. So many reviews mention a noise issue, but we NEVER heard noise from the top floor bar or pool or from the restaurant on the ground floor. The only noise that was troublesome was children on our floor racing up and down the hall and banging on doors for fun, but the hotel quickly took care of that. Aside from a quiet stay, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom is thoughtfully designed and we always had warm water and great water pressure. We did have once instance of the shower not draining but it was quickly resolved. The views were incredible and the blackout curtains were perfect, fully covering the windows; no rays of light sneaking in like so many traditional curtains. The Hyatt app allowed us to Chromecast to the TV when we were relaxing and wifi was fast. While there isn't a traditional desk area to work from the lobby has plenty of room to settle in comfortably and work from a laptop if needed. This was a trip to celebrate a milestone birthday and the tommie Hollywood team left a small birthday gift in the room to help us kick off our stay. It was so thoughtful and much appreciated. The location is great-- we were able to walk to much of what we wanted to do in Hollywood/Downtown LA and the rest was a quick Metro or Lyft away. We were mildly nervous about staying in Hollywood, but a lot of revitalization has been done and it was honestly better than our hometown west coast big city in terms of safety/visible unhoused persons. We were steps away from some amazing food/drinks, too-- Intelligensia, Bahn Oui, Love2Eat Thai Bistro, Scum and Villany Cantina, the Hollywood Farmers Market on Sunday, and Ka'teen and Desert 5 Spot in the hotel itself. We will be back!

Pros: - Cute rooftop with pool (tho it's very small so go early or off hours) - Very good breakfast food - very pricey though.. but that's hotels in general - Great location Cons: - BLACK MOLD in bathroom/tub - this was seriously concerning and should be immediately addressed in all rooms. - Outdated rooms in general in desperate need of renovation - it all needs updates, it looks dated and unkept to be honest, and not in a chic way. - Service to the rooms was bad - My room was stocked with all decaf pods and hot chocolate, when I called to ask for caff they said they were out.. they did offer to sell me coffee, but we ended up having to leave to make our dinner.. seems petty but these are the minor details you're paying premium for.. - Service in general was slow. they need more staff. The check-in process was extremely slow and i was put on hold multiple times when calling down to the front desk staff. - The property also really leans into their ”circusy” theme, which I'm all about a bohemian vibe but blasting ”Pure Imagination” at my brunch hour misses the creative mark. It came across as annoying, not thought-provoking. In short, I was excited for a stay at what I recalled was a pretty cute hotel at one point in time, but now it feels like they're cutting corners..

Very good, will stay next time. In particular, the hotel can purchase tickets for Universal Studios for a discount of $ 25 each. This place is convenient for parking ($ 15 per night) and is close to Universal Studios and the Avenue of Stars.
