The Guardsman - Preferred Hotels and Resorts

London|1.23km from Lambeth Palace
Well what can we say! We have been following this new hotel on Instagram and loved the ethos they were promoting. We decided to book for the weekend as a last minute get away ahead of a big celebration after a very rough year. We stay regularly at 5* hotels across London and Europe and don't normally write reviews due to being so busy, however the boutique/intimate feel really caught our attention, we like to feel that as guests we matter, rather than feeling like just another number. We were lucky enough to be the first paying guests visiting the hotel and every single member of the team went out of their way to make us feel so welcome and looked after! (the personal touches did not go unnoticed) The food was lovely and would easily compete with some great London classic restaurants and the team in the restaurant were so hospitable and you could feel the passion they had for what they do. There was a few minor teething issues with the tech in the room, but other than that, we loved our stay so much and have another stay booked for next weekend and we are now also going to book for our Nov & Dec breaks - even though we live 20 mins down the road. One of those breaks where you feel so at home you don't want to leave. Huge shout out once again to the team, we are starting the week the most refreshed we have felt this year We look forward to visiting again next week for our special celebration. xx Mr & Mrs Da Costa

Very satisfied with a hotel, worthy of this price. When I made a mistake at the time of booking, I saw that the room information showed that the facilities for the disabled were provided, and I didn’t think about it. I found that it was a special room for the disabled. It was really embarrassing. . . Before the check-in, the hotel contacted me via Ctrip and asked me about my check-in time. My answer may arrive at noon, which will be far earlier than the hotel's check-in time. The reply will be arranged according to the situation on the day. On the day of the check-in, we arrived at the hotel around 11:00 and they were all ready. Thank you very much! The hotel was originally remodeled by the bank and opened only last year, new and atmospheric. There are seven or eight restaurants in the hotel lobby, and the taste is comprehensive. Geographically, it is located in the downtown area, walking close to the hotels around the Thames, and next to the subway station. The decor of the room is completely classic British style, the details are carefully polished, very special and very like. There are no less than 20 kinds of bath products, which is extremely luxurious. I saw a comment on the book saying that the sound of the music downstairs was noisy, but the actual experience was completely unrecognizable. The sound insulation of the window was well done. The sound of the door next door was noisy. This may be the only fly in the ointment.

Location: The hostel is located in an excellent location, near Lambeth North Station, a variety of shopping around and you can go to the main tourist points of London, including: Big Ben, London Eye, Westminster Abbey ... Structure: The site is well preserved, right in the entrance has a well-conjoining pub, where also lunches and spots are served and there is a small outdoor area with tables. In the upper floors are the shared bedrooms and bathrooms (1 per floor). Facilities: The hostel does not have lift, which may be a problem for people who arrive with many bags, the lockers of the bedrooms are very small (in my case it only cuts a mean bag), but to solve this problem the hostel provides a The rooms are small, so when you are stuck, you become a problem to locomote. There is no air conditioning or ventilator, only heating system, in the days I stayed in the city was warm and the rooms were very shocked because the natural ventilation was not enough. The beds were comfortable, had USB-tapped and outputs in all beds, but there were no curtains and individual lighting (for those who stay in hostels, know that makes the difference). The bathrooms are spacious and were kept clean as far as possible, because it does not make sense to wait for the perfect space since it is shared, especially in the most frequently moving times. Conclusion: Despite the details mentioned, I would host again, the comfort and structure offered by the hostel and location are compatible with the value paid.

The hotel is in a nice and exquisite hotel. There are no twin beds, but there is a sofa bed. The transportation is very convenient. It is only 1 km from the London Eye. Nearby attractions can be completed without a taxi.

The place is very dirty, at night while sleeping the room is small and there are 12 people in the same place and there is no air to breathe the amount of pressure and smells in the room is huge. I never recommend this hotel The breakfast is very bad, the tables are dirty, there are no glasses or clean kitchen utensils. This hotel is unfit for human habitation

The hotel is in a great location with views right across the river. We found the staff friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. The room & bathroom were a decent size and everything seemed to be immaculately clean. We were surprised to find only one set of towels in the bathroom so called down to reception to request another set. 25 minutes later no extra towels had arrived so we called again. Eventually another bath towel was brought to our room. When a booking is for 2 people, I'm not sure why only a single set of towels would be put in the room, but we also shouldn't have had to call twice for this. The room was very well insulated for sound, so even being on the main road we heard very little traffic outside through the night. It also has great blackout curtains so no light came into the room. The only bad thing for us was the bed - it was far too hard and sloped into the middle so only certain positions were suitable to sleep otherwise you'd roll into the other person. Neither of us slept at all well because of this and both had backache the next day. We didn't have breakfast so can't pass comment on the restaurant etc. We probably wouldn't stay again as it was a very bad night's sleep for a pretty expensive night stay.

Overall experience Was amazing . Was able to check earlier because my flight got to London in the morning. Staff was so nice and welcoming. Breakfast buffet was perfect, room was spacious and the view from 17th floor was breathtaking. Got complimentary cake and wine and I loved it..the only issue was the elevator. Had only two elevator and it was always busy and crowded but asides that, I really enjoyed my stay and definitely coming back.
