Good points １． The staff has a good attitude, is bright and crisp, and it feels good. ２． The food is delicious. The dinner was a full course, but it was delicious that betrayed my expectations. The duck meat was soft, the green peas potage was rich, and the dessert fondane chocolate was good. The breakfast buffet was also rich in number and tasted good. Yudofu was especially good. Unfortunately, １． It is well maintained, but there were some places where it could not be won by the number of years of construction. Out of the world location with breathtaking views and stark fall colours all around. Sumptuous buffet breakfast though with limited choice for an Indian vegetarian. Luxurious rooms. Lavishly furnished hot spring bath area, complimentary during stay. Free bus shuttle every few minutes to the railway station and nearby important places. On the flip side, (a) lunch buffet in the hotel's restaurant was fully booked; (b) bell service involves long wait and we had to pull our heavy strollers half a km from the room to the foyer on an inclined path carpeted all along making the task very strenuous and tiring.

I stayed in February 2022. I used it in the maternity plan, but I was happy with the service that there were not many other services such as free cancellation fee and family bath. The meal was only delicious dishes that used various vegetables, especially the breakfast was the best, and it was the happiest breakfast ever without complaint. I would like to stay with my child this time.

The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from Karuizawa station. Take the north exit on the bridge/walkway after coming up from Shinkansen platform, it's the left. There's a tourist info with helpful people at the end of the corridor, and an escalator next to it. Once you come out, with your back to the station, walk straight down the road, and take left at the first traffic light, near the Shell station. The hotel is opposite Family Mart. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was generous-sized with an ante-room which has a fridge, some storage cupboards and the main room is nice and big with a good-sized bed. They provide 2 bottles of water. You can take day trips to Naka Karuizawa, Shiraiito Falls among other destinations using the bus service outside the station. It's a lot easier if you have Suica card or you will need to carry many 1000 yen notes. On the way back you can you can stop off at Kyu Karuizawa and walk the streets of Old Ginza. It can also be reached by foot, takes about 25-30 minutes.

I will go to ski for one night in a hurry and make a reservation immediately. Stay in one room alone and 8500 yen Hotel and facilities, but if you think it is a general business hotel, it feels about 6500 yen, but I think it is a range that is convinced if you think about the location. Although it is far from the station, it is very convenient to have someone to pick it up by car. In the morning, you will be booked with you to determine the time to go. We visited Karuizawa in the winter and stayed at the Shinonome Salon. It's only about a 10 minute brisk walk from the Karuizawa shinkansen station along pavements so easy to pull your luggage along with you. The name is confusing but I guess they wanted to call their hotel a saloon but ended up spelling it like a hairdresser. Check-in was smooth and without incident. We arrived late in the evening and although only one person was on duty they did expect us. Our booking.com form was printed out ready for our check-in. There are no elevators in this hotel so you have to lug your baggage up the stairs yourself. The old man who I think is resident there tried to help but he struggled with our heavy suitcases. If you're not strong and your baggage is heavy you might want to request the bottom floor. One annoying feature of the hotel is that you cannot wear your own shoes past the lobby area. You need to switch out of your shoes and place them in the provided lockers and wear the provided slip-ons instead. Annoying but I can live with it. The rooms are small and the toilet tiny. But they are clean. No rollaways for a third person possible in this room. The two beds were small singles. I notice chips on all furniture in the room probably caused by suitcases hitting the furniture given the tight space available. While not pretty to look at it didn't take away from the cleanliness in general. The toilet has a japanese style bathtub which is deep and requires a big step over. Anyone with disabilities might find it a bit difficult. I guess the tub acts as a makeshift onsen. The room includes amenities but I recommend you bring your own soap and shampoo. Hotel amenities in Japan are micro sized and barely adequate and are just a token gesture. The room has a heater and kept the room warm but all the switches were in Japanese. I did figure out how to adjust the temperature eventually. Breakfast was good and adequate even for the largest of appetites and I recommend you include this in your stay. My android phone was able to pick up Wifi in the room but not Apple iPhones. They did say at check-in Wifi was available only in the lobby area. Overall a decent comfortable stay and will consider staying again in future.

The environment is very beautiful and quiet, suitable for family trips with children, especially the food and service of the hotel is very good, I will go again next time
