Because of the yellow duck, I stayed at the Hanshen Hotel in Kaohsiung. As soon as I entered the hotel, I was greeted by the scent of flowers and the fragrance was everywhere. For this family trip, the two adults and one child were arranged in a side room on the high floor. The night city view was beautiful. The room was clean and very comfortable to sleep on! The housekeeping staff you meet in the corridor will also smile and say hello, which makes you feel friendly. The welcome fruit in the room is great!

A great location with great service. You're right next door to Kaohsiung Pier 2. The rooms may not have windows, much like ours didn't. If they do have windows, you can't open them. They're not particularly spacious in this hotel but you are very close by to numerous restaurants and cafes too, so it works out well. At time we could hear noises from the corridor so be weary of that. Busses are nearby but the times don't always align with google maps. Was a decent place, adequately priced and suitable for the time we had. But if we go back, we'll probably try for a more spacious place with a view! Otherwise for the cheap and cheerful option, this might be a great way to go!

Almost all the staff at this hotel are kind and polite, comparable to the six-star hotel staff I have stayed in before. What impressed me most was the caring and professionalism of the service staff. My colleagues and I decided to travel in Kaohsiung temporarily, so we didn't prepare more masks. Since I had encountered a temporary stay in Kaohsiung ”Kangqiao Business Travel Other Hall” before, there was no new mask. I asked the counter on the first floor but was rejected and the helpless experience of ending the conversation. So this time I just tried to ask if there was a mask, and I wanted to say that it didn’t matter if there was no. We went out to buy it ourselves, so after eating the free night snack provided by the hotel, we asked the staff in the suit on the second floor restaurant to ask if there were more masks, and the other party asked us to pick them up at the counter on the first floor. After we arrived on the first floor, we wanted to say how to ask, the counter ”actively” asked us to get the mask, and handed us two individually packaged masks with both hands. The original second floor suit-wearing personnel have notified the first floor, which makes me very touched! The next morning, because I had to catch up with the class, I couldn't sit down and have a good breakfast. The same previous experience in ”Kangqiao Business Travel Other Hall” was that I could only provide simple bread lunch boxes, no take-out cartons, so this morning we went directly to the restaurant to explain that we didn't have time to eat. Want to receive bread lunch box, the service staff very kindly told us that there is a take-out lunch box, let us pick up the dishes and then package us, one person has a total of two cartons, a soup bowl, a drink cup and a pack of tableware paper towels. This incident let me know that it was also Kangqiao Business Travel, but the way each museum handled things and provided services was very different. I like the Glory Pier very much. I will definitely stay again next time I have the opportunity!

Late review but really unforgettable stay experience 🥺 The landlord sister contacted WhatsApp in advance and informed the check-in details, so the communication was very smooth, and she was always concerned about greetings from check-in to check-out. The decoration of the B&B room is very unique. I found that the wall is not wallpaper but handmade murals. The homestay is very clean and quiet. I brought food to my relatives and friends. I am visiting my mom in Taiwan and decided to spend a couple of nights in Kaohsiung. I will be quite honest. I didn't have a lot of expectations staying at a Holiday Inn Express. But the stay exceeded my expectations. I took the MRT and the station is less than 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The check in process was smooth. I was offered a drink (I picked soda!) at check in for being a Platinum member. A very nice gesture. My room is small, but most rooms in Asia seem small to me coming from the US. It has a tiny view of the river and the park. You can tell the hotel is pretty new. I work a lot in my room wherever I am traveling in the world. This modern room provides all the necessary electric outlets for me to plug whatever I need in. This is important to me as well as good working wifi, which this property provides. Oh! They also gave me a basket of snacks and drinks! That was a very pleasant surprise! The breakfast selection is somewhat limited but sufficient whether you are into ********* or Western breakfast. I don't travel to Taiwan often, so whenever I can have ********* breakfast, that's what I eat! They even have a noodle station, but unlike most other Asian hotels I stayed at, it is a self-serve Noodle station. I don't trust myself enough to make one. I wonder if it is possible for the hotel to allocate a staff person to work the station. The service at the breakfast buffet was great! They offered to make me drinks. I took the opportunity to order some iced latte. I almost gave this place a 5-star, but there are a couple of things needed work: 1) I could never get the shower head aligned to face me directly while standing in the middle of the shower. 2) The water pressure in the sink is really low when it is on cold. If I turned it away from cold, the pressure is fine. But I don't always want warm or hot water. 3) This one is more of a personal suggestion. I wish this place had a gym/workout room. That's another thing I look for when I travel. Not sure if there is anything they can do. But just thought I would throw it out there. I read some unnecessary harsh reviews (like one earlier where the worker had trouble finding their reservation), but my experience tells me the staff tries their best to make your stay enjoyable. I am sorry I couldn't quite give this hotel a 5-star, but I will definitely stay here again in the future when I am in Kaohsiung!

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. It is very close to Jielian Station and is very convenient. What I appreciate most is that you can drink beer from 6 to 10 pm in the evening. There are sports equipment and a laundry room. The hygiene problem can be improved because two small cockroaches were found on the bed. Very comfortable, the room is quite big, the wifi is not smooth and a bit slow, the service staff is very good, polite and patient! If I go to Kaohsiung again, I will probably stay here again! I hope the hygiene problem has improved next time I stay.

The room is clean. Even if you don't know something, such as how to use the TV remote control, they will kindly teach you. The toilet has a washlet and has sufficient water pressure. The room I stayed in had only a shower, but Kaohsiung is like summer in Japan all year round, so it didn't bother me as I usually take showers in the summer. All amenities are available. There is one day's worth of supplies in your room, but if you stay for multiple nights, you will have to replenish what you use. There is a convenience store across the street, so you can buy anything you suddenly need. Depending on where you're going, there's probably a bus stop right in front of you, a cafe next door that sells sandwiches in the morning, and a popular shop along the street where people line up for lunch and dinner. I think the location is good. This was my first time in Taiwan in 4 and a half years since the end of the year just before the coronavirus, but I would like to stay there again when I go to Kaohsiung.
