First time staying at Amari. Hotel room and condition is superb. The restaurant dinner and breakfast is good too. Hotel staffs be it at counter or restaurant is also pleasant and friendly. Really enjoyed my stay. BUT, I felt that the counter staff should ask guest when checking in if they are driving so that guest will not caught off guard when checking out knowing that they will have to pay for the parking fees if they drove in and used their TNG card. I have parked my car for 2 days and had to pay with TNG. So for all that drove...do not use the TNG and just take the ticket. Hope that the hotel can improve on these.

location is pretty near checkpoint by grab. not alot of shopping nearby, but there’s a nasi lemak stall opposite the hotel, and down the road abt 7min walk, there’s a short stretch of eateries. the ramly outside banafe was SUPERB. interior wise, room was not bad. abit old but ok. lifts are slow and during checkout time we waited 10min and still did not get to enter a lift. a random unfortunate instance- fridge wasn’t working, but we managed to get a cup of ice from the restaurant below. overall for the price paid i think it was ok. there’s a cafe at the ground floor which we went cos it was raining one morning.

Room Number: 1128, 1129 Pros: - nice sea view - comfortable bed - separate bathtub and shower area - Huge pool (feels like a resort, with slide for children so very family friendly) - decent size gym - breakfast buffet had decent variety and taste (very value for money given cost of room) - staff were friendly and proactive Cons - Room shows serious signs of ageing. Even though could see that it was refurbished, things still look like they are falling apart - not sure if it’s just my room, but tv channels come and go. Sometimes it’s working and sometimes it’s not. Limited channels as well. - pillow was way too soft - My King size bed was actually two super single beds put together. - Only bath towels provided and it was very worn. No other towels provided. - Not really baby friendly as there hotel does not have baby shower tub. Thankfully room comes with a bath tub - sound insulation pretty bad. Could hear sounds from the corridor

The overall condition is good; everything has met my expectations for a standard hotel room. However, there is one thing that I'm unsatisfied with: I booked a room for three adults, but the amenities provided are only for two people (two pairs of slippers, two toothbrushes, two towels, etc.). There's no telephone number to call the front desk, so I went down personally to inform them about the situation. The staff promised to send the missing items to our room later, but no one came at all.

Hotel is old but room is clean. Basement carpark is dirty and has sewage smell but otherwise the whole hotel seems relatively clean. Basic amenities are provided, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, hand soap, cotton bud, shower and shampoo. Only shaver not provided. Location is good near KSL mall.

You can walk to CIQ but takes around 8-10 minutes. Not covered. There's a swimming pool but according to my kids, it's very cold swimming in it, not sure if it's the current weather. So they are not ecstatic about it unlike other hotels we have been thru. The pool is not that clean either. But the gym is top notch. Breakfast top as well. The room is great and warm cookies were provided during check in. The hotel team gave my daughter a small cake for her birthday upon request. Kudos! Free AC charger (I got around 2.7kW) for EV car (6hrs) The good stuff definitely overshadows the minor weaknesses.

This used to be one of our favourite hotel before FIVES it was BAGUS CITY HOTEL. After pandemic is called FIVES HOTEL which still maintained the service , cleanliness. Ambiance/Facilities - kitchen amenties in room, Pool, Gym Highlights - Large clean apartment with Amenities Avg. Price/night - S$45! Rating - This was our 2nd stay after 3 years of COVID. The one bedroom apartment was maintained just the way we last stayed: Spacious living area with l-shaped couch and basic kitchen amenties, comfy cosy bedroom with shower. Entire apartment was clean and really nothing to nit-pick about! On 33A level there's clean swimming pool overlooking City Square mall and its vicinity, as well as gym(a few machines was faulty though and cannot be utilised). Lots of food choices across street to Komtar jbcc or City Square. Overall a superb enjoyable stay and highly recommended to family, couples irregardless given its slim Priceline(we booked ours at $45/night)!

Consistent with brand standards, bulk-size amenities are provided here at the Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre and while I do appreciate the positive impact these initiatives have on the environment, the body wash bottles located by the shower area were empty when I checked-in to the room. The opaque bottles definitely make it hard for housekeeping to check whether a top-up is required so this is quite certainly a pain point for everyone. The only thing is that the bathing area of the bathroom, you need to ensure that the screen is firmly stick onto the glass panal or tape. I took a leap of faith and booked this hotel room despite some negative feedback from other travellers about this hotel on various platforms. I was upgraded to the deluxe room by the kind receptionist Ikmal. Thank you very much! Here’s my honest review of the room. First impression, the deluxe room was extremely spacious. The room was also very clean. The bed sheet smells fresh. There were some minor spots on the bed sheet but it wasn’t a big deal. The hotel provided 2 pairs of slippers and 2 bottles of water. I did not use the water kettle. All the basic amenities in the washroom was also available. The aircon took a while to get running but it got colder as the night draws in. The noise isolation of the room was rather poor as I could hear noises from outside the hotel even though I was on the 8th floor. Despite the noises, I was able to sleep relatively well thanks to the soft pillows provided. One thing I found annoying was that the bathroom door cannot be closed shut fully. As the the result, some of the cool air from the air conditioning escaped into the bathroom. Please note that if you’re driving into JB, I don’t think this hotel has a parking lot. Kindly confirm before booking. Overall, I would book this hotel again as the pros (close proximity to the customs and dining options, clean room and value for money) outweighs the cons and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a decent hotel to stay without breaking the bank. Highly recommend. I have a high standard of cleanliness and this suite easily passed the mark. I walked on barefoot and no stain! It’s even cleaner than a 5-star hotel. Pillow, bedsheet are all clean. It’s a serviced apartment type and so no meal is provided but city square is within 5 minutes.

This is my second stay here, and the place feels once again like home...super friendly and clean and cozy...good value budget accommodation with hot shower, strong fan, self service kitchen with free coffee and tea and drinking water... it's located a bit outside the center of JB but still very walkable... It was a pleasant stay, highly recommended. I will definitely come back again . Loving the spacious apartment.Just keep up with the service and maintenance. The only downside were the toilet as there’s no door to it. It would be recommended to have a door in between the toilet and bathtub so the customers has a peaceful time doing their nature calls. I feel the bed length abit shorter since i’m tall and usually king bed are big and long but not for this stay.Thanks
