Very good location, various full breakfasts, staff available. The weak point is that there are only six places where you can park, but often you already have it. The possibility to park in the casino's parking lot is up to € 6.30 throughout the day. Another weak point of the soundproofing of the room is the sound of TV, doors in the adjacent room. Sufficient hotel, pleasant pool, jacuzzi hammam and small gym for 3/4 day!

Well located hotel. Good breakfast choices but usually the hot food is cold. Disappointing to have to pay €15 for room safe! You can save €2 per room per night ( not really saved as it is a credit for drinks etc) if you don’t have your room cleaned or bed made. Why would you? It’s one of the benefits of staying in a hotel on holiday. Water we believed the first night was complimentary was charged ~ buy it at the supermarket 50m away. Drink prices are higher than some other hotels like the Savoy! Wi-Fi off but hope to get sorted the next day! ******* you would not expect in a 4 star hotel. In the round staff are pleasant and the location is good but there are many in this part of Funchal. None of this detracted from the pleasure of Madeira

Lovely, modern, quirky hotel...on arrival and throughout our stay, the staff were friendly. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Was quite a variety of hot & cold selections at Breakfast. The rooftop bar had panoramic views of the sea infront and the mountains behind...beautiful view...the only downfall was our bed...we had room 105 and the bed had a broken leg, it got fixed, but if my partner turned over at night, was like being on a watered, didn't feel quite sturdy...room had an internal window looking towards a big plant...not much room ventilation...overall though, it's a fantastic hotel, just needs a new bed...

Hotel Quinta Da Penha De Franca is within it's own complex and is up the hill from its sister hotel Quinta Penha de Franca Mar. You can use the facilities within Quinta Penha de Franca Mar as well. Both are linked together by means of a private bridge which goes over the road, this is pretty seamless, but you do have to go out the door of the De Franca and buzz back in, but too much of an issue. Quinta Da Penha De Franca is set within gardens and has a heated pool which can be used, complimentary pool towels provided. You can also use the pool at Franca Mar which is unheated, but was still warm enough, and is salt water, from here you also have direct private access to the sea. Rooms are of a good size, I would recommend staying in the main complex rooms. There are around 4 rooms which are around Rooms 40-44 which are separate from the main complex, that can be nice, but note the Irish Bar is just over the wall, so can be a little noisy at times. Rooms were clean, air conditioning good, TV and mini bar, which if you want to indulge was good value. Beds were big, and very comfy which helped for a good nights sleep. Room Service is also available, though oddly no complimentary tea & coffee provided in the room, which I would expect in a four star. The location is excellent, on the edge of the hotel area means a short walk into town, and short walk to other restaurants and bars in the hotel district so a real positive. Parking is also very good, they have a large free to use carpark, so brilliant if you are planning to hire a car to explore the island like we did, we had no issues parking. Breakfast was also very good, a mix of continental, Portuguese and cooked buffet options. Service was friendly and overall a very enjoyable stay was had.

Location is great. Housekeeping excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. My bed was comfortable but my husband's bed was not (can feel the springs). The hall carpets very dirty. Lack of staff. Poor customer service at reception. The process was not explained for the pool towels and the parking card. We did not receive pool and parking cards in our envelope. The roof top pool is very nice. No staff there though. No bar men available. It is extremely hot and there's no shade provided. We asked for umbrellas but were told they don't do that in October even though it was mid 30s!! It was too hot to be there without shades!! The neighbouring hotel had umbrellas. With staff attendants always present. The wall plant, at the pool, was knocked over and soil was left on the pool deck. The soil spillage was still there 3 days later. Breakfast is included. It has a lot of variety. Cold foods great (fruit, breads, cakes, cheeses) but hot food was a low rating (eggs tasteless, bacon and pancakes sit too long and are hard),

This hotel is in a beautiful location. The sound of the booming ocean made me realise how small and insignificant I am. To the left of the hotel is a wonderful lido used by locals (payable) that is worthy of a visit, and to the right are several lovely beach bars. It was at these beach bars (amongst other places) that we tended to eat. The food was awful, and there didn’t seem to be any consideration of a full meal plan. In addition, there appeared to be the previous evening’s left over vegetables served for breakfast. Most worryingly however was the amount of time food was left standing. It was only like warm ever, and so incredibly unhygienic. The drinks selection was ok, there was entertainment most nights if that’s your thing, the bus to Funchal was prompt (as was the local bus just through the tunnel). I would not stay here again, but I would stay in this area. Being just outside Funchal was ideal. Take some trips, explore the city, ride the cable car, and then watch the sunset.

Everything was fantastic, hotel location, services and design of the hotel. I enjoyed the 2 nights there. Unfortunately the welcoming was not good for me as I waited for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Yes I came early before the check in time which is 2 Pm and I came at 11:50 and the front deck staff ( Eduard ) confirm to me that my room will be ready at 2 pm but till 3:10 pm only I got to my room after I esclate my issue to the front deck manager ( Peter ), the problem was not about the time I lost, but the attitude of front deck staff as he is looking to my face multiple times and he didn’t come to say sorry that your room not yet ready just to apologizing…

Very atypical hotel which has a magnificent view over the bay of Funchal. A real paradise for me because not too crowded, quiet and easily accessible. Also advantage of being only 10 minutes from Funchal. The staff is also at your service. 🥰🥰🥰

Hotel facilities and equipment, although old, but also basically meet the needs of use, breakfast is very rich, the room given by the front desk should be considered the largest of the same type, but the floor is too low, the parking lot is noisy, the fly in the ointment is less front desk staff Smile, communication is frosty, resort hotels should not be like this. There is also a small episode at check-in. The front desk must ask me to send the order to the hotel's mailbox, and she has my order number in hand. Is it ridiculous!

The Hotel Next in Funchal on Madeira impresses with its excellent location right on the water. The rooms, although spacious, tend to create a somewhat subdued atmosphere due to their darkness. Nevertheless, the hotel scores with comfortable beds, modern furnishings and attractive bathrooms. Breakfast, served in a canteen style, has a limited selection and the quality could be improved. A highlight, however, is the beach club on the water, which, although without a beach, stands out positively with a pool and direct access to the sea via a jetty.
