It was our first visit to the Isle of Man. I ad researched several hotels but am so glad that this was the chosen one. The staff were very welcoming as soon as we arrived. We had the Halvard Suite which was at the front of the building. It was airy, roomy, comfortable and had a lovely view. Breakfast was faultless. Parking was a bit tricky but the hotel give you a card so you can park opposite from 6pm to 10am so that was fine. I would not recommend the hotel restaurant but it is run separately. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be hopefully coming back.

Fantastic stay in one of their family suites, my daughter loved it and the service and amenities were great. Would recommend 100%! Location is right on the promenade and very close to the town centre with all local amenities including pubs, restaurants and shops.

I just wanted to thank you for being so helpful this morning in cancelling our booking due to the ferry issues because of the storms. Rachel was delightful and incredibly helpful and for that we are very grateful. We appreciate that you have lost our business this week due to the weather and promise to book with you again when we rearrange our trip to the Isle of Man later this year.

Very nice comfortable and clean boutique hotel in a perfect position on the promenade of Douglas. Car parking directly behind a the multi storey. Thanks to Peter who made our stay perfect. Lovely sea views, and so quiet at night. Perfect room and great to be able to see the sea from the shower.

Wow, what can I say! We managed to book the Hotel Halvard last minute after being really disappointed with the state of one of the large neighbouring hotels that we had originally booked for a four night stay. On arriving at Hotel Halvard, we were greeted by a very warm welcome from Lucas, who made us feel so at ease after a rather stressful arrival to the island. As the booking was so last minute we only booked for the one night. As the hotel was so amazing, the following morning, we spoke to Pete on reception, who went above and beyond to arrange another room for us due to the room we were in being fully booked. Pete gave us a fantastic price deal on the room, which included breakfast, and we were really, really lucky that they had availability. The rooms are really out of this world! Such high quality, large, spacious rooms which are immaculately cleaned throughout. Stunning views overlooking the promenade. Complimentary soft drinks and snacks which are restocked daily. It has a fantastic little restaurant that serves a vast range of lovely breakfast items, including continental and cooked breakfasts. The restaurant is also open to the public for delicious evening meals but would highly recommend booking in advance. The hotel is perfectly located along the prom, which is very central to all amenities. We give the hotel a 10/10. It's definitely one of the best on the island, if not the best, but what makes it more special is the staff. Each and every one of them were so friendly and helpful, we felt like we'd known them forever. Nothing was too much trouble and they go out of their way to make sure your stay is the best possible. Definitely give them a call when booking as they offer much better deals than what is available online. Thank you so much Lucas, Pete and all members of staff at Hotel Halvard, we can't wait to return!!

We stayed at the Halvard for 3 nights. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We had a front room which had great views. Breakfast was a continental buffet as well as cooked eggs/bacon - plentiful and delicious! The staff were welcoming and attentive. Being on the main promenade, parking is a premium - however we didn't have too much trouble, on one occasion we made use of the multi storey parking in Chester Street behind the hotel. The hotel is well situated within walking distance to many shops and the Manx Museum. We would happily recommend this hotel to fellow travellers.

Returned to The Halvard and Peter on front desk could not do enough for us, room was clean with great sea views, unfortunately a polite request for my tomato to be cooked a bit more resulted in the whole breakfast being totally overcooked, a miss understanding no worries, however this seemed to be a problem for two of the girls the next morning. After being ignored for 10 mins and made to feel very unwelcome we asked for a pot of tea( every other morning asked if we wanted drinks and if we wanted a cooked breakfast)when we checked out later we brought this up and was informed we were 5 minutes late for breakfast, at £170 per night not very professional, and was then told by Rachel quote… you said our breakfast was sht , omg we couldn’t believe the way we were being spoken to by both girls behind the desk, first we would not speak to anyone like that and then they started arguing with us telling us we were 5 minutes late for breakfast ( didn’t say anything at the time) I could say more however the Halvard is a lovely hotel, but with the unprofessional and awful childish attitude of two of the staff there are cheeper and more welcoming places to stay in Douglas, as we have just booked one for next year

OMG!! This place is amazing. As it was our Ruby wedding ann the staff had put some balloons in our room, a sweet touch. The staff have a mega sence of humour and can not do enough for you. Even before we arrived they helped my locate a company to do a trike ride on the TT course. This was beyond awesome to do folks. 120 miles an hour in the mountains of this beautiful island. I have a milk allergy and they went out specially to get me lactose free milk. The room was so beautifull, the bed sooooooo comfy. The food was delicious, you must try the Belgium beef stew along with the skin on frys ... scrummy. The wine was a bit expensive when ordered by the bottle but Champagne was £36 so you choose. It is set directly opposite the beach front in Douglas and if you go by boat it is literally 2 mins from port. It is a cracking base for island exploration. We even saw the owner on his hands and knees repairing the coffee machine. NO aires and graces. We had an awesome time, WILL defo be back in the future. We hope
