Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, RaceCourse, Coimbatore

Coimbatore|3km from downtown
Three of us spent one night at an executive suite in the Welcomhotel Coimbatore. 1. Let’s begin with the biggest complaint first. Halfway through a morning shower, the hot water simply stopped flowing both from the tap at the washbasin and from the showers too. Took about 15 minutes to resolve so I finished my bath with cold water which isn’t a big deal in a Kovai summer. But this is not something you want to happen at this price point, or, indeed, at a price point half as high as this. More so when you’re occupying an executive suite. Extremely disappointing. 2. There was some confusion at checkout. Our reservation included all 3 meals. And we had signed for one of those meals, and the restaurant had posted it as a bill payable. Reception took a few minutes to sort that out. 3. The lobby almost doesn’t exist. Once you pass through the doors, you are in what can at best be described as a passage facing the reception. This is well-lit, and I do like the aesthetics, but it’s just surprisingly small. Not complaining about this though; I was just amused. 4. We had an a la carte lunch and a buffet dinner. The quality of the food is, overall, good, as you would expect of the ITC group. The food at their Fortune hotels is often very good too. The buffet seemed to play to the crowd a little – there was a little too much tempering, it was a little too strong in its approach. But still, that is nitpicking. A la carte was pretty good. The staff are patient at taking orders and orders are taken seriously. But their knowledge of the menu isn’t sufficient. They have a dish called “ritu ki sabzi” or something of that sort which translates into “seasonal vegetables.” When we asked what the vegetables were this season, the best the waitress could do was to say “carrot” twice. The dish too was something like that: Nothing particularly seasonal about the vegetables. 5. We had an early breakfast. The buffet wasn’t quite ready yet. Nevertheless, the spread on the buffet is satisfactory but not as wide as you would expect. The quality of the food is excellent. The service was mediocre: I ordered a masala dosa which didn’t show up for 10 minutes. On inquiring about it again, the waitress (a different person) thought I was placing a fresh order and informed me that it would take about 10 minutes, a point which was never brought to my notice when I first ordered it. So I ordered a plain dosa instead. 6. Overall, the aesthetics of the hotel are nice. The restaurant, however, is dimmer than I’d like. At dinnertime, there was live music in the restaurant. I suspect that the hotel didn’t think its guests had personalities, because the loud volume made conversation extremely inconvenient. The rhythm was good (because it was essentially a metronome type of thing), the singer might have had some relationship with melody at some point in some life, but his accent made it (un)clear to us that nobody knew what the words of the songs were. 7. The room is well appointed. Once

Ikon by Annapoorna

Coimbatore|1.2km from downtown
This is my second visit to Hotel IKON Coimbatore. My earlier visit was with my family in December 2021 and my current visit was work related. On both occasions, the stay was very pleasant, comfortable and memorable. The rooms are well designed with modern fittings. The complimentary buffet breakfast has a reasonably good spread, and the food is tasty. The location of the hotel in the heart of the city is a big plus point. The staff of the hotel are very courteous and professional, and they have been putting in their best efforts to make the guests feel comfortable. My thanks to Ms.Akila for helping with the cab booking for my travel within Coimbatore. She was very patient while handling last minute changes, and she ensured that the cabs arrived on time. Her dedication is very much appreciated. I would also like to thank Mr. Aravind, Mr.***ikandan and Ms.Akila for helping me with the booking process. In spite of requesting a room at short notice, they were able to cater to my personal preferences. And my thanks to the all the other staff members whose names I cannot recollect but whose contribution was equally important in order to ensure customer satisfaction. The building houses two restaurants - Annapoorna and Kove. While Annapoorna is a famous vegetarian restaurant in Coimbatore which serves south and north Indian food, Kove offers multi-cuisine vegetarian fine dining options. Overall IKON is a great place to stay for family as well as business travellers, I would who***eartedly recommend this hotel to others.

Lemon Tree Hotel Coimbatore

I booked for a night stay at Lemon Tree. The location of the property is a bit remote - on the outskirts of Coimbatore. Hardly any petty shops nearby. You will have to take a long walk or drive by car to nearest medicals or other shops. The check-in was smooth. Receptionist service was good and welcoming. Probably in about 5 minutes I was into my room. The room was large, spacious, clean and tidy. There was a work desk and a couch yet the room did not feel cramped for space. The amenities were the regulars - coffee, tea and water bottles. The bed, however, was too stiff to my comfort. Surprisingly the room had a ceiling fan. The restroom was clean. The amenities were provided. Buffett spread was good and tasted well. My needs were catered to with regard. So appreciate it. The property had ample car park space to go with rooms for chauffeurs. Overall, a great and pleasant stay.
Radisson Blu Coimbatore

The hotel is pretty good! The rooms are spacious and bright, the beds are dry, and the hygiene is good! Good service attitude! There is only one restaurant with fewer choices of dishes. In addition, don’t go to the surrounding chin chin and the casade Chinese restaurants. There are some localized Chinese dishes in India, which are really awful. Is there anything? !
Ibis Coimbatore City Centre

Hotel chain, economy, Samsung bar, rooms are uniformly arranged, not bad. The breakfast was general and allowed them to make quiche. There is a waiter named Trishna who can speak a few Chinese words. The bath water is sometimes cold and hot. No toiletries and slippers. Put a pair of chopsticks. Except for five stars, all Indian hotels do not have toiletries. Including five stars, all Indian hotels do not have plastic slippers. The surrounding environment is average. Go out and turn left across the road. There is a larger restaurant on the right. Chicken and noodles are not bad. When you go out, turn right 500 meters and there is an alley to go in. There is a restaurant My place, which is not bad. Overall, India's per capita income is much lower than China, but the price of food and beverage is even higher than China!
Hotel Srilakshmi

Very nice, Indian hotel. The name means Lakshmi Goddess Hotel. It has a history of nearly 30 years, but the maintenance work is very good. There is a dedicated waiter on each floor and there is free The holy ash has the same smell and texture as the isha, and there is smog mosquito repellent in the afternoon. It is very good in health, so it feels very comfortable. There are actually three Bhagavadhas in the room. It feels very old, and the pages are yellow. Already. It's a pity that there is no breakfast, but there is a very good shop next to it. There are noodles in the shop. Located in the bustling area of Coimbatore, I lived in four nearby stores, this is the most cost-effective, if you want to experience the authentic Indian hotel, this one should be a good choice.
Treebo Trend Ess Grande

The Treebo Trend Ess Grande Hotel at Coimbatore is located very near (about 500m distance) to Gandhipuram Central Bus Station and Gandhipuram Town Bus station. We as couple, stayed for four nights at this property, which was booked directly through Treebo during August 2022. The room allotted was not so spacios but neat, clean and comfortable. The service Staff is courteous. Free Breakfast buffet spread was hygienic, tasty, mainly south Indian type with changed menu everyday, served between 8 AM to 10 AM at its own restaurant. Thanks Team Treebo....
