Sonder South Wabash

We love this place. It is so well furnished except for some biscuits crumbs that were found in the living room. Overall, we had a good stay and location was good too.

The apar**ent was very clean and had all essentials. When I contacted Sonder regarding an issue they replied right away. Will definitely stay here again whenever I’m back in Chicago.

The photos are very misleading and give you the impression that there is a front desk or a human on site which is not the case.

Perfect location in close proximity to bus lines, and eL train, especially in the frigid weather

This place is great! Location for going to the Bears game was just what I was looking for. A short walk. Very close to the red line location. A nearby grocery store. Lots of options in the area for a espresso drinker like me. Chat feature on the app was very helpful. Security and cleaning person both came to my rescue when I had a couple of slight issues. Will be using Sonder for future trips back home for my visits!

Good view from the 5th floor and ample size unit with a kitchen with pots and pans and dishware. Home away from home. Bathroom was larger than a hotel unit with shampoo, conditioner and body wash and the plus was the living room with a sofa bed. Noise was heard from the adjacent neighboring room from the TV and verbal discussions. The small 2 person table is worn.

Location of the apar**ent was excellent in terms of proximity to public transportation (CTA and Metra) and to grocery stores. A mile or so less of a walk to good restaurants. However, the lighting in the apar**ent was inadequate. No fan in either bathroom. Beds were very hard and comforters too heavy. Lighter weight blanket choices would have been welcome. Kitchen was fine but a dish drainer and more dish towels would help. Main concern was a water leak at 4:30 AM into the apar**ent on Sunday December 17. Water was pouring down the inside of the Chase housing the living room heater and coming out at the floor into living room bedroom and closet in the master bedroom. Water was pouring out of baseboard area for a hour- we used every bath towel in the apar**ent to sop it up. Called 24 hour number - no resolution since person spoke to is in another state and says no maintenance at that time of night. Only solution he could offer was to check to see if another apar**ent in Sonder building was available to move to- not a solution! Said he reported issue and maintenance would respond no later than 9 AM - this did if happen. Called 24 hour number again around 10:30 AM/ different person with same story but no real regard for integrity of the building. Eventually someone brought us replacement towels and did not take away soaked towels (I later laundered them)- did not truly address leak? I would not recommend this accommodation to friends.

This was a great property for our 6night stay in Chicago! Walking distance to great dining options, public transport and some of the sightseeing attractions. Given it was in the city we felt it was fairly quiet. Only down side was the blinds in the bathroom and bedroom, as there were 3 of us. The sofa bed could have used a topper. Not sure if people could see in at night if the lights were on. Overall we had a great stay and the property was as described. We would definitely stay there again.
