Park Head Hotel

This 3 star hotel is easily far beyond that rating, I don't personally understand why it is not at minimum a 4 but take into account quality of food and staff engagement why it isn't 5 star. The breakfast is amazing with so many options, I have tried the full English which was delightful and the eggs Benedict and that was the first time I had tried it and was very impressed. They have an excellent Sunday dinner. The room's are very well presented and the beds are so comfortable. I had also noticed it was pet friendly and even though I don't have a pet it is nice to see a clean hotel which has a positive pet policy. The front of house staff and always there to help and assist in any way they can, the kitchen staff are always producing quality food and the waiting staff are polite and well presented. I have found all staff amazing and I won't name names as they all deserve credit as a complete unit. Price wise people may scoff as it is a 3 star plus hotel but it certainly doesn't present like one as it is a sleeping 4 to 5 star with excellent links to some of the most beautiful places in Durham. If you consider staying here please do it and you will not regret the stay.

Great experience staying here - the building is very average (think a nicer version of a Travelodge), but it's clean, well maintained, the food is good (especially the breakfast) and the people are LOVELY and super helpful and make all the difference. Brilliant value for money.

Fantastic Sunday lunch- the starters particularly the pork belly were amazing and the roasts were excellent- huge portions! The staff were amazing especially as our dog had been missed off the booking form so they quickly turned around a table for us!

Booked last minute for the tea time special on 4th April, which just happened to be my wife's birthday. All six of us really enjoyed the food . The slow cooked beef with dumplings was a triumph, as were all our other meals! Our sincere thanks to the entire team for your warm welcome and professionalism.

As a local we have visited Park Head on and off since it opened, food has always been very nice, especially Sunday Lunch. But service always so slow. Only ever one person taking orders. However, the service is very slow. We visited January 14th, just got around to leaving a review. I don't think we will be visiting any time soon. Our table was booked for 12noon, we where the 2nd table seated it took until 12.20 to take our food order, then we finally received our food at 12.40pm. We decided not to stay for dessert as it was taking to long. A number of staff standing around that could take orders, but the system seems to be only one person this really doesn't work. Staff and food are lovely, but the systems really doesn't work.

We visited the restaurant with friends and the a**osphere and decor was lovely the staff couldn't do enough to help so polite and friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us with our choices, the food was amazing 3 of us had the steaks which were cooked to perfection and I had the burger it was lovely the chips were amazing and the staff passed our comments on to the chef. It was nice the staff took the time to talk about the food and told about upcoming offers aw well. I would definitely recommend a visit we certainly will be returning.

My wife and myself stayed here for the valentine’s evening, our experience was exceptional from the very friendly staff to the excellent quality of food, thank you for making us feel so welcome nothing was a bother and very much appreciated, we will definitely be seeing you again soon.

An excellent hotel. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient, the room was excellent and the food and bar were of a very high standard. We received superb service throughout. Great location if you want to explore the Durham countryside. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Had my daughter’s baby shower here yesterday. What a fantastic day and fantastic service from everyone. Daniel and his team have been amazing from the moment I enquired about the booking until the end of the day. The service, hospitality, food and friendly team was second to none.
