3 Star Hotels in Athens

This is an extremely nice hotel situated in a perfect location. Our stay and review are based on a Superior room You would be hard pressed to find an Athens hotel in a better location. You are right in the middle of all the action with shops and restaurants nearby. You are spoilt for choice. Although in a busy area we found the excellent double- glazed doors/windows kept any noises out and it was not an issue at all. Our Superior room came with a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities although that is not listed on their website. It may be worth e-mailing them if this is important to you. There was air-con but in March there was no need to make use of it so we cannot comment on its efficiency. The toilet/bathroom came with those tiny bottles of shampoo and body wash which we refuse to use on environmental grounds so we brought our own and used that. There was a sign saying that if the used towels were hung up then it was assumed that we were happy to reuse them. The cleaners replaced them daily regardless. The rooms were kept very clean. This hotel has much going for it. We grabbed a deal here at a very attractive price which included breakfast. The breakfast arrangements were in a fairly small area but we felt that a good selection was provided considering the space limitations. Plenty of fresh vegetable choices and delicious too. The Tomatoes and Cucumber just tasted so much better than we are used to. Cereals, bread, cakes, fruit and coffee from a machine. We looked forward to our breakfast every morning and didn’t grow tired of it. Minor gripes (being very picky). The over the bath shower was a mini battle in so much that it was prone to shoot water out onto the floor if you weren’t being careful. It could have been better but all we had to do was to adjust our showering habits and all was ok in the end. Our room had a balcony facing out to the street below. It would have been nice for a couple of chairs out there rather than just a large pot plant and the air-con unit for company. I did notice that no other balconies on other building had chairs out so perhaps that is just the Athens way. We had a Fridge in our room. Very welcome. A very close mini supermarket was the cheapest place we could find to buy water. E0.39 for 1.5 litres as I recall. We loved this hotel. All the staff were so nice and so helpful. I can’t remember all of their names but Irena and Eva come to mind. They helped make our stay wonderful. It had a curiously homely feel about the place. March time was a great time of the year as it was a pleasant day time temperature with it getting a bit chilly in the evenings. You could still dine outdoors but with a patio heater nearby. We loved Athens and have decided to return next March with the flights already booked. We will stay at the Plaka Hotel again. 5 stars from us

Excellent value for money hotel in a fantastic location just a few minutes walk from Athens’ most visited spots. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. No tea/coffee making facilities but I don’t know if that’s normal in Athens, but there is a fridge and great air conditioning. Then roof top bar in their sister hotel Plaka is well worth a visit. Highly recommend.

I don’t really like the location as road it was on was really dark at night even the surrounding areas too and a few druggies walking about here and there bur harmless , good thing is it was close to main city / town shops train station. And hotel itself was not to bad , room was good too just standard and upon asking the lady at the reception changed it for me as I dint like the one which I booked. So over all not to bad The photons below are the close by places

Chose this hotel due to it’s proximity to Syntagma Square and the X95 bus stop (we arrived in Athens at 1am from the airport). A very warm welcome despite the time, efficient check in and straight to our room. Hadn’t expected an Acropolis view but got one which was a nice touch for my partner as it was his first trip to Greece. Nice clean room and decent bathroom (something which can be challenging in Athens). We only booked for that one night, but check out was efficient and polite and they stored our bags for us so we had time to look around before moving on to our final destination.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Although it doesn't look like a hotel when you arrive and the street it's on looks dodgy, it was fabulous. The rooms were clean, spacious and quirky. The best feature of the hotel was the rooftop terrace and bar. Absolutely AMAZING views of the Acropolis from there both at day and night. Would highly recommend

My husband and I spent 1 night at the Acropolis View Hotel to kick off our honeymoon and even though we were only there for a short time the staff went above and beyond. There was a complimentary bottle of wine and plate of olives waiting in our room as well as a very sweet note wishing us a nice honeymoon. The view of the acropolis was not quite direct but still very nice with a small balcony to sit on. The room itself was a little small but had all the amenities we could ask for. Lastly, the most beautiful breakfast spread was brought up to our room right when we asked for it, ordered the night before using their website. Overall, wonderful experience with a great location and very attentive staff that made us feel very welcome.

Excellent experience: balcony, room cleaned regularly, reception staff polite (Stefan is really friendly and gives good advice about Athens). This is a great hotel for mid- budget in Athens, right opposite Larissa train station which gets you to syntagma & acropolis in 15 mins. Also the bathrooms are fine - clean & hot showers. Saw people moaning about them in reviews unnecessarily- so what they look a bit retro, for the price this place is brilliant! Room is lovely and air con works a treat. Will definitely stay here again 👍

Other than the location and cleanliness, I wouldn’t recommend. The staff are extremely unwelcoming. On arrival we felt like we were unwelcome, poorly informed about things and rushed to get through checkin. Considering this was our first stop after arriving from a long flight from Australia and first time in Greece. The breakfast staff were even worse, felt like a eye watching every move and told off when u did something wrong but didn’t know the rules cause no one told us. Definitely no smiles or welcome to Arethusa. Let’s not even discuss our check out, I handed the key over and nothing!!!! Not even, hope u enjoyed your stay. Shocking!!!!

Lovely hotel, nice staff. Very friendly! The rooftop bar is great. Room had coffee, tea, nice bathroom, amazing view of Monastiraki square and the Parthenon. Only thing to note is this hotel is in the middle of lots of action, so it can be loud outside until ~ 3am. Of course, not the hotel’s fault, but we played some white noise and that was fine. Earplugs would work for those sensitive as well.

The hotel is located in the city center. It is very convenient to go anywhere from here. The service of the hotel is also very good. I am not used to local food. At the foot of the Parthenon Temple, it is recommended to go in the morning. In the afternoon, there will be many restaurants open to attract business in the middle of the mountain. The airport bus X95 goes directly to the hotel. After getting off the bus, you will arrive at the hotel about 100 meters away. The fare is about 5 euros per person. I like this hotel very much, it is safe and convenient.
