The room was clean, tidy, spacious, and bright! The hotel facilities are great, and the service is excellent. The directions were clear, and the environment was beautiful. The outdoor swimming pool was fantastic! I'll definitely be back.
Really enjoyed our stay in one of the motel units. Warm and clean. The long soaks in the private pools were so good. Not sure why it was free one day but had to pay the next day. I understood that access to the pools was part of the cost of staying there but maybe private pools weren't included.
It's like a giant campsite community. It sucks there is little accommodation at hot water beach but the location is like a 10 min walk to the beach which is nice. I was in a small hut that had 4 twin mattresses (2 bunk beds). There were spiders and bugs up in the corners and of course I was top bunk. The mattress was also shot, a curvature body shape in the middle.
The showers and toilets were clean and easy to access/use.
The wifi is annoying as the password changes daily and of course you cant use it when you wake up the next day.
Bonus there was a friendly cat walking around I was petting.
I wish they had more cabins with just a bed and kitchenette to book.
We had a night here to recharge and the hotel and hot pools really delivered. The hotel is immaculately clean, and while it is a little dated, as you would expect being a historic hotel, we were really comfortable - beds were good, we slept well and it was quiet. The hot pools are a hidden gem that really blew us away, we had them largely to ourselves and we soaked our fatigue and sore muscles away, in lush bush surroundings, with the sound of the waterfall in the background, native birdsong and the sounds of summer cicadas. We'll be back.
A good first stop over for our campervan trip as it is 1hr away from auckland airport. We checked in after opening hours (they close pretty early) but we could easily find our way and the check in instructions were clear and easy.
Plenty of flies attracted to light at the campsite. Our camper was filled with flies and spent a long time chasing them away. So do be careful when turning on the lights when moving in and out of the camper.
There was a large room with a huge bed, and the main thing was a pool with mineral water right in the room. The interior is specific, but everything is clean.
