XXiaomuMUSI”This trip to Izu Kogen was made particularly memorable because of this B&B. As soon as I arrived at the B&B, the owner's warm welcome made me feel like spring breeze. The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions. The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families. It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. When we went back, it rained heavily and the tram stopped running. The owner took the initiative to contact us to help us find a way, and finally sent us to our destination. Thank you very much🥹 In short, this stay experience was great. I will definitely recommend this B&B to my friends around me, and next time I come to Izu Kogen, it will still be my first choice.”👍

EepiceNestled on a hillside overlooking the bay, the hotel is absolutely stunning on a clear day. The garden has direct access to the beach, though climbing the stairs back up can be quite a workout. The room facilities were comprehensive and newer than I had anticipated. The hotel was quite busy with guests from various countries, indicating it's indeed very foreigner-friendly. However, this also led to some issues. For instance, the hotel's onsen (hot spring) isn't very large, so it felt quite crowded with so many international visitors. What was even more dismaying was the blatant disregard for onsen etiquette. I personally witnessed several instances, including but not limited to: two Chinese female tourists in swimsuits in the outdoor bath, one of whom was sitting at the edge, soaking her legs while drinking a beverage, with a full face of makeup – I half expected her to pull out her phone for a 'perfect shot.' Additionally, two women, possibly from Eastern Europe or Russia, covered in tattoos, wore their slippers directly into the changing area and then just left them thrown under the lockers. Such sights were off-putting, so we decided not to use the onsen on our second night. The hotel actually provides guests with a leaflet on Japanese onsen etiquette upon check-in, but clearly, some people just don't bother to read it. I suggest the hotel increases staff patrols in the onsen area to promptly identify and address these uncivilized behaviors. On another note, when we first entered our room, it felt stuffy, so we opened the window, which unfortunately let in some mosquitoes. After contacting the front desk, they promptly sent up an electric mosquito repellent, which was a thoughtful gesture. We stayed for two nights, both on a half-board basis (dinner and breakfast). The dinner was a Western-style set menu, with at least 7 courses. Both the presentation and content were Michelin-level and absolutely delicious. Finally, the hotel's shuttle bus service is quite frequent. In the mornings, there are four buses that stop at Shimoda Park, which is perfect for seeing the hydrangeas.

GGuest UserWe had a truly wonderful stay at Ittouan. The experience was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They noticed us from far away and immediately came to help carry our luggage. One of the staff members, a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English, was especially helpful and made communication very easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I would like to thank her again. We booked both dinner and breakfast, and the meals were fantastic. The ingredients were very fresh and the variety was impressive. Every dish was different and beautifully prepared. However, for two women like us, the portions were honestly quite generous — even sharing one meal between two people might have been enough! The location is excellent. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Kawazu Station, which makes it extremely convenient for visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms. It is also very close to the beautiful coastline, so the surroundings are lovely. Our room had a private onsen bath where we could soak while enjoying the view of cherry blossoms, which was a truly special experience. There is also a larger private bath available by reservation (free of charge). We also tried the hot stone spa, which was incredibly effective in relieving the fatigue after my marathon. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I would love to come back again in the future, hopefully with my family.

GGuest UserThe location is absolutely amazing — Mount Fuji sits right in front of the room, and the hotel is just steps away from the outlet. The parking lot is free; simply show your ticket at the front desk and they’ll give you an exit ticket. The dinner buffet is reasonably priced, and it’s very convenient to have dinner here before heading to the hot spring. I booked the private hot spring and had a wonderful, relaxing time (the public one is free for guests). Highly recommended — I would definitely love to come back again.

CCw233Facilities: This hotel has an old-money charm, and you can really see its past luxury. Everything is very well-maintained, and the rooms are clean. There aren't many power outlets, but they thoughtfully provided power strips. The tatami mattress was very comfortable, and the cleaning staff did a thorough job every day. The view from the window was beautiful, and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves was a dream. Service: The hotel offers a shuttle service to Atami JR Station, departing every half hour from in front of McDonald's. There are two vans per shuttle, clearly marked with the hotel's name in red, and managed by hotel staff. They drop off at both the old and new wings, which makes up for the slightly inconvenient location. Environment: The hotel boasts three large hot springs, all with both indoor and outdoor baths. I tried them all, and each has its own unique character. My skin felt so smooth afterwards! The walkway on the 15th floor of the Ocean Wing (old building) offers panoramic ocean views, making it the perfect spot to watch the sunrise. Dining: The buffet dinner was absolutely, incredibly amazing! Unlimited tuna belly! All-you-can-eat scallops and roe! Shrimp, sea bream, squid, salmon – there was so much I couldn't even try it all. The cooked dishes were also delicious, but my stomach just couldn't fit any more. I saw some not-so-great reviews before checking in, but perhaps everyone has different preferences. We, however, highly recommend it!

GGuest UserThe seafood sashimi was a little small, but the meal was satisfactory. The stairs from the parking lot to the front room were tight for me with bad knees.

AAnonymous UserHighly Recommended!! Key Point: The hotel includes a one-day admission ticket, allowing access to three attractions within one day: (Cactus Zoo, Izu Granpal Park, and the New York Lighting Museum Garden). We recommend checking in after visiting Mt. Omuro, enjoying a one-night stay with two meals at the onsen (hot spring), and then visiting the above attractions the next day! Perfect for families and couples! We recommend driving or walking to the hotel from Mt. Omuro/the zoo. Environment and Location: The hotel is located next to Mt. Omuro, about a 10-minute walk from the Mt. Omuro Ropeway; it also has a private entrance to the Cactus Zoo (accessible via a gate next to the hotel). The hotel features a terrace and platform with stunning surrounding views, perfect for taking photos, overlooking the sunrise, night views, and Mt. Omuro. Rooms and Facilities: Spacious rooms with a semi-Western, semi-Japanese design. Meals: The hotel offers a Japanese set breakfast and a kaiseki dinner.

CCHERRYyiThe rooms are located up on the hill, but they offer free shuttle service to and from the station, which is great. As expected from a Marriott, it was clean, hygienic, and the service was excellent. The hot springs were very relaxing. It's a bit far from the main hotel, so breakfast isn't included, and there are no convenience stores nearby.

MMajorosThe hotel itself is good, but it's quite a distance from Mount Fuji. It has hot springs and laundry facilities, which is convenient. Breakfast was also good. However, on the third night, the alarm went off around 2 AM. Everyone in the hotel rushed out, and the elevators and phones were shut down. We were so scared that we quickly found the emergency stairs and ran down. The hotel said it was an equipment issue and told us to go back to our rooms. We climbed 10 floors back, and then a little later, the alarm went off again. Soon after, they announced that everything was fine. We barely slept that entire night because of the commotion.

GGuest UserThis place is located at Izu-Ōkawa Station, which is a bit off the beaten path for a transport hub in the East Izu area. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which you can book in advance via email or phone. The front desk has a ********* lady who speaks Chinese and is very helpful, answering any questions you might have. The food is quite good, and there are two large outdoor private onsens where you can see stars on a clear night. However, if you want to see a lot of stars, you should head to Ōshima or a nearby island. The room size is standard; in Japanese-style rooms, staff will lay out futons as there are no beds. The tatami mats are very new and have that unique new tatami smell. The private onsen in the room is also nice for a soak. If you're interested, there's also a wild hot spring by the sea – just Google it. You'll find a Lawson convenience store a short walk along the coastline. Overall, apart from the slightly remote location, there aren't any major drawbacks.
