Hot Springs Hotels in Niigata Prefecture, Japan

I stayed at this hotel while skiing in Rakuten-Arai. The hotel itself was excellent, with complete facilities and spacious, comfortable rooms. It has a large public bath with an open-air hot spring. Most of the hotel staff were friendly, but unfortunately, some restaurant employees were impolite and their behavior was unpleasant.

The hotel has a hot spring, a snow park, and a shuttle bus to and from Kamikoku ski resort. It's so comfortable to soak in a hot spring after skiing. There is a shuttle bus for transportation. It's a 45-minute drive from Yuzawa Station. It's a little far, but it's one of the best choices for skiing near Tokyo. The staff's English is really not good, and the communication is... quite different from Tokyo. Not everyone is friendly, but I like it. Because it's not a tourist attraction, I guess there are not many foreigners who come here to stay.

Hotel was generally clean except for the front area where shoes need to be removed.. the floor mat was wet but it wasnt changed, so its kindaof gross. Amenities are not great either. No lotion, no facial products, only basic toiletries and toothbrush provided. No kids yukata provided too for my child. Food was very average - both breakfast and dinner. No variety, everyday its a type of shabu - 1 day pork & beef, 1 day beef, 1 day fish. My kid got very bored of the food. Bed was comfy. Pillows were crap and only 1 pillow each.. View was quite nice, could see e neighbouring mountains. Location is very good, 5 to 10mins walk from e echigo yuzawa train station. There are quite alot of food at the train station. While this is supposedly a ryokan, its just another dormy inn. Dont expect too much - considered decent.

We had an amazing time at NASPA New Otani — this hotel is a fantastic choice if you’re visiting Yuzawa, especially for a winter getaway! The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing. The location is ideal for winter sports lovers with ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes and easy shuttle service to Echigo-Yuzawa Station, which made getting around a breeze even in snowy weather. The onsen and bathing facilities were relaxing and just what we needed after spending time outdoors. The buffet breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety and were really enjoyable, with something for everyone. While the hotel is set a little away from town, the free shuttle made it convenient to explore the area if we wanted. Overall, it felt like a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and superb service — highly recommended!

Hotel with hot spring and others facilities like swimming pool and gym room. Room are big enough for 3-4 persons. Location a bit far from town if with car no issue at all. Hotel do provide bus but time limited till 6pm. All staffs could not speak English so communication was an issue if you request something.

Not the most modern. But very cosy and warm, impeccable service and hospitality. Child play facilities inside the hotel (up to 6 or 7 years old). That's a bar for the adults too, open tab until the night. Private onsen is available for 1000jpy for 45 minutes, and is adjacent but separate to the public onsen that is available to hotel guests. Parking is just outside the hotel. Restaurants and snow gear rental is available down the road.

The hotel is visible right after exiting the west gate of Echigo-Yuzawa Station. You have to walk up a short slope to reach it. The hotel's hot spring was incredibly comfortable, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious! They even offered free amazake and coffee in the afternoon.

The hotel's location is pretty good, though it's a shame there's no shuttle bus. It's about an 8-minute walk, but it can be a bit tricky when it snows. The facilities are decent and have everything you'd expect. The food is good, but the menu was exactly the same every day we stayed for three days and two nights. It would be a pleasant surprise if the hotel could change up the menu. They offer rental equipment, which is very convenient. It's also quite family-friendly. You can tell they put effort into making it a good hotel.

The hotel is not far from the station and offers a shuttle service. The room was clean, though the bathroom was a bit drafty and cold. The dinner provided was quite good. If I visit again, I would definitely choose to stay here.

I stayed here with my family for a ski trip. We had a great time in one room with six people from three generations of parents and children, and we were very satisfied. We took baths both at night and in the morning, and because the steam from the baths didn't obscure the view, foreigners who are uncomfortable being naked probably wouldn't feel embarrassed. The food was well-balanced and delicious. There wasn't a large selection, but everything was delicious. I'd like to stay here again.
