I usually stay at a hotel near Kochi Station, but this time I stayed at Dormy Inn Kochi because I wanted to eat bonito tataki at Hirome Market, which is a famous restaurant in Kochi.
From the airport, it took about 25 minutes by limousine bus for 900 yen one way, and I arrived at the hotel 500 meters from the Kita-Harimayabashi bus stop through the arcade.
It was about a 5-minute walk from the hotel to Hirome Market.
I had free midnight soba noodles from 9:30pm and it was great.
I would like to stay at Dormy Inn Kochi again when I come to Kochi.
For bonito tataki, I recommend Yairo-tei at Hirome Market.
This trip has chosen a hotel closer to the 36th!
A restaurant with beautiful sea views, the outdoor pool is also well designed.
The counter staff was very patient. On the eve of the typhoon, many buses changed their shifts. The hotel staff also drove us to the bus stop sign with the departure bus!
Really sincerely thank you 🙏
Highly recommended!
The hotel is in a very remote place. If you don't drive by yourself, it takes 15 minutes by bus. There are only a few buses a day, so transportation is inconvenient.
The room is on the underground floor, facing the trees at the back. The interior of the house is decorated in wood color, but the bathroom is in the style of an old-style hot spring hotel. The hotel has indoor and outdoor hot springs, but the outdoor hot springs are not hot enough.
Due to its remote location and few street lights around, you can see many stars when you look up.
The room we stayed in was very spacious. The onsen was really amazing, quite huge that could accommodate the many other guests who booked at the same time with us at the peak of the golden week. We availed the buffet dinner, where we luckily got discounts from our All Accor membership. The dinner buffet has a wide selection of food and drinks. They also had a buffet breakfast which was quite good.
The hotel is located in a remote area, suitable only for self-driving tours. The hotel is situated on a cliff, offering a very quiet environment. All rooms face the sea, but it is a bit dated, and the large bathhouse is a bit far from the rooms, which may be inconvenient for elderly people. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast and dinner were also good.
This is an old hotel in the suburbs of Kochi. It is the tallest building in the area at a glance. It is located on the banks of the Niyodo River and has a very good environment. The equipment looked old, there were small bugs on the tatami, and there were many small flying insect bodies in the open-air hot spring, but I didn't find it too disgusting, haha. The dinner set is delicious, and there is also Dandan noodles for midnight snacks.
Excellent location with shopping stores and restaurants nearby.A heated room with windows that can be opened is a big plus. The man at the front desk speaks really good English!Very close to the famous wild eel restaurant.

GGuest UserWe had the most amazing time at Sodayama Onzen. It is a very special place to relax and unwind. Our room had a private onsen overloooking a stream in the forest. The rooms were very spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the amazing food! It was a very special experience but way too much, especially in the mornings. But it was a great experience of fine Japanese cuisine. The staff was so friendly, communication with google translate helped.

CCoco PengI just happened to see a hotel in Taipei in order to eat at an izakaya. The room was large, but the facilities were old and the hot spring was small. I didn’t know why there were floating objects in the hot spring that day... Someone must have done something unhygienic. I hope the hotel can be repaired at any time. Confirm the hygiene level of the hot spring.
The breakfast is very good, simple and delicious, and the scenery is great. It is a good place to relax. The only inconvenience is that there is an access control. You need to return to the hotel before 10 o'clock, or call in advance to inform you that you will be late!
