⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Great Budget Stay in Manila
We stayed in Manila near Pres. Quirino Ave., and overall it was a good experience, especially for the price. The location is very convenient — close to Malate, restaurants, convenience stores, and accessible to public transportation.
The room was simple but clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. Aircon was working well (very important in Manila!), and the staff were approachable and helpful whenever we had questions.
It’s a good option if you’re looking for an affordable place under ₱1,000 per night. Don’t expect luxury, but for budget travelers, it’s worth it.
Would consider staying here again.
Comfortable & Quiet Layover Stay in Manila ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-I stayed at Yamato Hostel during a layover in Manila, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. The location is very convenient, just a short drive from the airport, which made the whole transit experience much less stressful.
The hostel itself has a clean, minimalist Japanese-inspired design that gives it a calm and relaxing atmosphere. After a long flight, it was the perfect place to unwind. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and everything was well-maintained. The bed was cozy, and I appreciated how quiet the environment was—it really helped me get proper rest before my next flight.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, making check-in smooth even at odd hours. The facilities, especially the bathrooms, were spotless and felt more like a hotel than a typical hostel.
One thing to note is that the area isn’t very lively, so it’s not the best spot if you’re looking to explore or go out. However, for a layover, that actually worked in my favor since I just wanted a peaceful place to recharge.
Overall, Yamato Hostel is a great choice for travelers in transit—clean, quiet, and conveniently located. I’d definitely stay here again for another layover.
This was one of the best hotel I stayed at in Manila. I had some hesitations about the shared toilet and bathroom, but they were quite clean by Philippine standards. The hotel even has a pool, so you can sit by the pool in the evening and meet other guests. However, our room didn't have a window and was a bit damp. The only downside of the hotel is that the surroundings aren't very safe. You need to be cautious around the hotel if you're a foreigner. Mall of Asia is only 10-minutes by Jeepney. The hotel is also close to the airport for those leaving the city.

Cheap, great location near the park. This huge room has 60 beds, good for people who don't mind sharing. There are no curtains, so it's really just for sleeping. Besides the beds, there's only a bathroom, no other space. The downside is there's no hot water, only cold.
Definitely one of the cleanest, if not THE cleanest, of all the hostels I've been in. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
The bed is comfortable, towel is provided, and the toilet and showers are well-maintained. Across the hostel is a store and a carinderia (eatery) where you can buy affordable food and drinks. Make sure to order buffalo chicken wings for only Php 250. The silog meals are sold for as low as Php 85. There's a bakery and a coffee kiosk too; both located across the hostel building.
When you exit the hostel, there is a Samgyupsal place and laundrymat to the right. Good service and great people too!
There is a balcony where you can eat food ordered from Grab or FoodPanda. Location is also near Robinsons Manila, Rizal Memorial Tennis Center, DLSU Taft, and many government offices.
Love it here! I will book again.
Facilities: Well-equipped.
Cleanliness: Spotless.
Ambiance: Elegant.
Service: Excellent.
The location is very easy to find, right on the street, next to a BDO bank, and there are many dining options nearby, which is super convenient. There are large common areas on both the 5th and 2nd floors, and the internet connection is also very good. All the staff are very friendly.
I stayed at this hotel in Manila during my solo trip and was very pleased.
The hotel is a bit away from the city center, which actually turned out to be a plus for me: it's quieter and more peaceful here than in the busiest part of the city.
The room was comfortable: cozy beds, always hot water – everything you need to relax after a busy day.
I especially want to highlight the rooftop bar – it's a great spot to unwind in the evening and enjoy a beautiful sunset with a view of the city.
I was also pleasantly surprised that the hotel offers additional activities for guests, such as free city tours – a fantastic bonus, especially if it's your first time in Manila.
I was traveling alone and felt comfortable and at peace here. I can confidently recommend this hotel for your stay.

Yung room and service super okay.
Very Good

DDzhentaoAmazing place.
It's a love hotel that could actually work as a stopover if you're ready to experience Manila as it truly is. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness: no insects in the room, no dirt, and a clean jacuzzi, which isn't always the case even in more expensive hotels in Moscow. One of the hotel staff, a gecko, clearly protected us from insects!
However, the bathrooms definitely need fixing. The pipes on both floors are leaking, which has led to a persistent puddle of stagnant water that never dries up.
The mattress was firm, perhaps too much so for our liking. And the stairs are quite steep, which might not be comfortable for everyone.
The hotel staff were generally friendly; I'm sure they would have been willing to help if needed, but we didn't have any issues. However, no one took the initiative, so over our three-day stay, we weren't even offered fresh towels or trash removal, which was a bit disappointing.
The location is convenient because it's close to the airport (this was a big draw for us, as we only had two days in Manila). But on the other hand, stepping outside the hotel plunges you into the surrounding poverty: markets, homeless people. In the evenings, it felt a bit uncomfortable getting around without a taxi. I'd recommend taking a taxi every time you return after sunset.
And yes, being close to the airport means plane noise day and night, so be prepared for that.
All in all, my wife and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and we might even consider returning next time.

HHeart GapasinThe owner and staff at the hostel are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist guests with any needs or questions. They are quick to respond, ensuring that any inquiries or requests are addressed in a timely manner.
The cleanliness of the hostel is impressive; both the rooms and restrooms are meticulously sanitized, providing a safe and comfortable environment for all guests.
Guests can enjoy a simple yet satisfying complimentary breakfast, which offers a pleasant start to the day.
Additionally, the instructions provided by the staff are clear and precise, making it easy for guests to navigate their stay and take advantage of all the hostel has to offer.
DDoms SimbaThe hostel is simple. It provides spaces for guests to eat outside the room. There are round tables good for two guests. You can also stay there for work or relax. The room (bunk) is only designed for sleeping. Common CR and shower. Separate rooms for ladies and gents. Dormitory type accommodation.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel front desk was wonderful they helped me to call the police. At 00:45 am, I am
a tourist.
I was
robbed and threatened by an illegal taxi driver in Manila. His car plate is NEN 2957”. He forced me to pay 2000 philippine Pesos, from Airport T3 to Khotel, and threatened me to pay if not, he wort let me get of and I was in danger, so I had to pay 2000 pesos to him under coercion and threat.
AAnonymous UserStayed there from November 15 to November 22, a total of 7 nights for a conference I was attending nearby. The location was really convenient since it was close to the airport and public transportation, which made getting around easier. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and I felt like I got good value for what I paid. Overall, it was a pleasant and practical place to stay during my conference.
NNew EraThe hotel offers good service with friendly and helpful staff, making the stay pleasant. The room is a bit small, but it’s clean and well-maintained, which makes it comfortable enough for a short stay. One notable aspect is the shared bathroom—it’s kept very clean and hygienic, which is appreciated. The biggest advantage of this hotel is its convenient location near Airport Terminal 1, making it an excellent choice for travelers with early or late flights. Overall, it’s a solid option for budget-conscious travelers looking for a clean, simple place to stay near the airport with reliable service.
GGuest UserJust a cozy and pleasant hostel near the airport. The glass door to the reception was so clean and transparent that I initially didn't realize it was a door.
The manager messaged me in advance to ask about my arrival time, and it turned out I had booked for the wrong day. They accommodated me without any fuss and let me check in.
The showers are clean, and the beds are comfortable.
