Econo lodge— I don’t expect much from EconoLodge and use it when we have to knowing that it is very basic, but it’s a bed and bathroom. This one is pretty tired and worn, although I can see that they are trying. We were visiting friends in Palm Coast and decided to stay near by not wanting to travel after our visit. As it was the Daytona 500 weekend, most hotels in Palm Coast were booked solid for weeks in advance. The EconoLodge even called us to make sure that we were actually going to come since we hadn’t checked in by 5 pm. EconoLodge rooms all open to the outside and second floor rooms are all walk-up. The cons— --When we arrived about 6:45, our room was not yet ready. I think it was normally used by long-term stay people. They literally had the cabinet outside that holds the refrigerator and were scrubbing it. —The bathroom--We were told they had just caulked the toilet and not to use it until 8:30 that night to give it a chance to dry. Even so, it still didn't flush properly, in spite of holding down the handle until everything goes down, the paper floats back up. The toilet lid does not fit properly (see photo). The new caulking around the tub was already cracking. The vent fan was not connected. The bathroom door handle is oxidized. --The furniture is worn (see photos), the chair uncomfortable as the padding is gone. --The microwave was missing (the maid apologized and said they were short about 6 or 7 that were broken). --No coffee maker in the room, even though we had cups and there was supposed to be one (no coffee maker, no supplies for it). —No blanket, only a sheet and thin cotton bedcover. --No breakfast, not even continental, and the lobby was blocked off (both probably due to COVID), leaving only the registration desk. --While there is internet, it is slow and you technically have to sign in, but it is not secure. —I bent down to plug in a device in a corner outlet only to be met with the odor of pee from a previous animal occupant. The Pros— --The fridge was big and worked, including a freezer compartment. Most new ones are only refrigerator and no way to refreezes your blue ice. --The floor has recently been replaced with new vinyl planking. It was pretty clean (the sink counter had something stuck on it, but it was difficult to tell because of the pattern on it, so I can see how it was missed.) --There’s a Cracker Barrel across the street so we could get meals easily. But be aware that with 4 motels/hotels in the area, it is often busy. --The bed was firm and comfortable (which counts bonus points for me) In the end— We paid for a king-sized bed and ended up with 2 doubles on the second floor. We reserved the room through the Choice hotels website 6 days in advance using our membership number, not through a third-party. The manager on duty said it came into their system as doubles and that all their kings had been sold out a while ago, even though my confirmation email said King. When my husband was chec

It was nice just wish the office opened before 9:30 AM!

There are four rooms. The manager could have looked to see that we booked two days back to back and planned for us to be in one room two days. They woke us up from a nap and said we had to get out right now and move to another room. I ask for mercy to let us stay in the room but none was given. I swept the floor. Emptied our trash washed the dishes and *****ped the beds. We left in 20 minutes. We didn't want to make extra work to the maid. Happy forth of July weekend to all. God Bless America.
Meranova Guest Inn
4.8/574 Reviews
My husband and I spent an absolutely wonderful three day weekend at the Meranova Inn a few days ago. It was to celebrate his 80th birthday. We stayed in the KeyWest Room and found it met all our needs and more. The king size bed was superbly comfortable with ample pillows, we had a full kitchen with snacks and Keurig machine with coffee pods and tea and sugars and creamers all there, and the bathroom was spotless with toiletries and fluffy towels and two comfy cotton bathrobes at our disposal. Two TVs--one in the bedroom and one in the living room-- had good reception. The pool was right outside our door. The town is lovely, and has a designated bike trail right through the middle of town, so one could ride a bike safely out of traffic's way. Each room as its own unique character, so check out the website and see the rooms before you decide in which one you want to stay. We had breakfast right next door at the Wild Iris restaurant--so convenient. We also had dinner at AlFresco and found the meals and service very good. That, too, was within walking distance. We are Floridians, yet, this mini-getaway to Dunedin was a great way to celebrate, and we are pleased we did. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Margaritaville Resort Orlando

Lake Buena Vista / Downtown Disney
Stayed 2 nights in the margaritaville hotel as part of a visit to Disney MK. Check in was smooth, the room had two queen beds with a gorgeous bathroom and balcony with views of Disney fireworks at night! The pool area was fabulous, clean, warm water, shallow for children to play and a tiki bar! Decoration in the foyer and rooms gorgeous and tropical! Easy and quick shuttle coach arranged on the day to get to and from AK or MK....free! Would highly recommend!
Fort Lauderdale Gardens Inn & Suites Ft Lauderdale International Airport

I tried to check in around 12:30/ 1 AM. The night clerk was unable to check me in because he had been kicked off the company website for going to undesirable web sites. After trying for about 20-30 minutes, he was able to check me in. All parking spots were taken so I went back to the office. I was told that I could park on the grass near the hotel. When I went back to my car, the next day, I had a parking ticket. For the three days of my stay I went to the office to complain about the ticket & get them to reduce the cost of my stay for the ticket cost. I also complained about being charged for the use of a room safe, which I did not ask for. i was always told that the Manager had to approve the credit but no one could ever reach him by phone. I was finally told that a credit was approved, paperwork had been forwarded and a credit to my charge card would show up in 5-7 days later. Three weeks after my stay I had not received a credit and called the office and spoke to the clerk on duty. H said he would check into to it and call me back which of course did not happen. As far as the amenities and the hotel room: the complementary breakfast was a joke; the bed in the room should have been thrown out years ago. Every time i went into the office, there was always someone complaining. The only positive about my hotel stay was that i was not robbed or attacked at the hotel.
Econo Lodge

I was trying to find an affordable hotel for vacation and even though this one still seemed overpriced, I went ahead and hoped for the best. Upon check in, I noticed that the staff gave me a reused card holder and during Coronavirus pandemic, that just seemed like a big no-no to me, but I moved past it. I went to the hotel room and tested the door only to find out that the chain had been removed and the deadbolt also unlocked with a key. I had to go buy an alarm for the door since it was so sketchy. The sheets smelled like they were never changed- stank beyond belief. The room wasn’t swept or mopped and we had to wear shoes unless we wanted the bottom of our feet to turn black from the nastiness on the floor. The day after we checked in, we had room service come in (which we didn’t want but there was no do not disturb sign available), and after we got back, my Birkenstock’s had been moved as if someone had tried them on. GROSS. The second night we stayed there, a couple of men were arguing and threatening each other outside our room for HOURS. The point that terrified me the most was when one man claimed to have a gun as a way to scare the other one. Keep in mind, the door is crap and barely locks. The next morning, I had my boyfriend shove everything we had into the suitcase and take everything to the car. When I went to the lady at the front desk and tried to check out and ask for a refund I was met with attitude and skepticism. She said to me “you checked in two days ago and you’re just now feeling unsafe?” With a look on her face. I said “I felt unsafe the first night I got here but last night was the last straw.” I asked for the refund and she said she would have to talk to her manager, which I’m pretty sure means no and she just wanted to get me out faster. I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.
Nyah - Adult Exclusive

The environment is good, the service is warm, the facilities are very good for vacation and leisure. Breakfast is very good and there are more varieties. Although the room is four people, it is not crowded at all, the bath is also very convenient, the hot water is very adequate, in short, the experience is good.
Westwinds Inn
4.4/5101 Reviews
This is our 3rd time staying at Westwinds and we love it. The location is quiet yet close to downtown Key West (recommend renting bikes in lieu of walking because it's very sultry in the summer heat). The tropical foliage is beautiful, 2 pretty pools, the rooms have nice appointments and nice toiletries, the beds are comfy, and the continental breakfast is very nice - especially having oranges or bananas and yogurt aside from carbs. The staff is very attentive here. On our last day, we were able to leave our bags in the lobby after we checked out and ride our bikes into town. We returned to use the pool, and refresh ourselves in the guest shower before leaving Key West.
Ocean Breeze - Ocean Front at Symphony Beach Club!
4.1/5100 Reviews
Location was good. Right on the beach and easy access to stores, restaurants, etc. We had a ground floor unit facing the ocean. R. 104, I think. The key lock box was rusted and corroded and partially hanging off the wall. It was difficult to open. The towels were filthy! I had to wash the kitchen utensils I used after requesting a clean sponge. The sponge provided was grungy and fit for the trash. I wanted to use their drip coffee maker instead of the Keurig….bad idea because it was gross with dirt and residual coffee grinds. Even the Keurig coffee cups, looked old, the foil lids were frayed and dusty/dirty. The oceanside door to our room was rusted, and that area was dark at night. No outside lighting when exiting to the parking lot via the oceanside door. Some of the electrical outlets inside were missing outlet covers and other outlets were overloaded with cords belonging to the unit. Even though staff was remote and a phone call away, I would not choose this hotel again. Sometimes staff were onsite working making it easy to get some replacement items. I know salt water can cause damage to finishes, however, a fresh coat of paint and an extensive cleaning, followed up with thorough cleanings and routine maintenance would work wonders for this place.
