Amazing
SShanghaiWednesday”I never leave reviews for any hotels. I expect the best when I book the best. Fortunately for The Lead Hotel, I am going to leave a review because I was impressed with all aspects of your property.”
”The Hotel and Room - The hotel is located perfectly away from the inner city and closer to one of the beaches, which I appreciated. Cosmetically, the hotel is well-manicured and secure. They clean the hotel grounds, trim the bushes, and paint the scuffs every day like they do at Disneyland (impressive). Secondly, I was upgraded to a larger room with a kitchen, washer, and dryer inside the room at no cost because the hotel was crowded. (That has nothing to do with the review.) The room was very clean and up to my standards. The hotel has day and night security guards.”
”The Staff - I reached out to the hotel a few weeks before I arrived in Freetown concerning transportation to the hotel, and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful. They provided transportation from the Sea-coach Docks. Housekeeping was prompt and attentive to my schedule, and regardless of what time I left, the room was pristine clean when I got back. The front desk staff and the managing partner or owner were all very friendly and went above and beyond to address any questions I had.”
”The Pool - Loved the pool. I was there every single day, basking in the sun. The pool boy was there every single day cleaning the pool. It’s the closest thing to an infinity pool.”
”Restaurant - Now, this I think can be improved a little. Not so much the restaurant itself, but the menu. The whole menu was western food (burgers, pizza, etc.). When you are in Sierra Leone, you might want some of the local staple food. Have some local dishes on the menu as well for those of us who are curious about the local cuisines.”
GGuest UserThe reviews make it seem much worse than it actually is. It's a decent chain hotel, perhaps tired, but acceptable. The price-quality ratio isn't ideal, but that's the nature of the area. The hotel also doesn't mention that it's undergoing renovations and renovations throughout the property. For this reason, the pool is closed. It's noisy during the day. But if you're coming for work, it's not that bad. The area is nice, and there are restaurants nearby with decent food. The staff is diligent and cleans as best they can. One time, they even brought a complimentary bottle of sparkling water and apples to the room. The fees mentioned in the reviews above are also present, but not excessive. You're asked to pay twice for security: $25 per person upon check-in and $25 per person upon check-out. Be prepared.
평평생새내기The hotel was alright in general. However, some of the staff do need re-training or discipline. When we were checking out early in the morning, the male receptionist claimed we owed the hotel more 1000 dollars for food, which we never had. When we told him that, he just backed out, saying we didn't have to pay.
AAlhaji Abdulai ShawThe hotel manager Ahmed was very helpful and tried to resolve most of my concerns. The apartment are not to standard at all. Thanks to Ahmed and the hotel staff that helped moved me from the apartment building to the main hotel. The food is good.
GGuest UserThe staff were very professional, friendly and hospitable from the cleaners, restaurant staff, security personnel and reception staff. The food was excellent and the breakfast sumptuous.
ZzanharryPraise it. On the top of the mountain, the view is very good and overlooks the entire city. The house is also clean and the staff is very welcoming and beyond imagination. Recommended hotel.
TTryeIt’s been quite an experience for me for the past two weeks staying there. The hotel itself is at a fantastic spot, so no worries about that at all. The management work really hard to keep their guests comfortable and I must say I was really impressed with that. Fantastic team! With improvements, this hotel will definitely gain more than the current rating. That’s if its wanting to.
Therefore to fix that, there’re rooms for improvement with the amenities and facilities provided. Apparently, the rooms advertised were done on a fake advertising scheme. They looked nothing like the one I paid for. My room was later upgraded when I complained as I was really disappointed. The rooms didn’t even have any single bottle of water for guest. Imagine lading at night and thirsty but realise there’s no drinking water as most hotels would. I highly recommend a look into that.
For future reference, I would recommend the staff be aware of guest's booking details. Maybe provide a desktop at the front desk where they can access the bookings for confirmation. Most hotels have that.
Last on the list is the breakfast provided. It would be great if the hotel would provide a blend of different breakfast options instead of the same everyday. It can still be on the current budget but with different meal options, every other day or so. I nearly fell ill during this period unless I had to skip breakfast on most days and go out for food. Some of us don't have the stomach for that, and it's quite displeasing when you've already paid for the service, even worse when you’re staying longer as I did.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Sierra Leone as besides the aforementioned, I did enjoy my stay there. Great staff! And yes, I will come again in the near future.
