The hotel offered great value for money, probably because it wasn't peak season. Our room faced west, which meant we got to see beautiful sunsets and take some fantastic photos, though it did get a bit too hot. Luckily, the air conditioning was powerful, otherwise, sleeping at night would have been impossible. The bathroom design wasn't ideal; it was too dark and cramped, definitely something that needs improvement. On the other hand, breakfast was excellent, really fantastic.

The children’s pool with slides requires better maintenance, as insects were present. Parking is located quite far from the main area; however, buggy services are available and helpful. All staff members were very friendly, attentive, and supportive throughout our stay. The room was spacious. Although we did not receive a full sea view—only a partial one—the scenery was still stunning. The ambience of the resort is very refreshing, with high ceilings and a breezy environment that creates a relaxing atmosphere. There are many activities available, and the resort is within walking distance to a beautiful beach. Swimming is not very suitable due to strong tides, but the soft sand makes it ideal for children to play. There are two large pools: one specifically designed for children with slides, and another main pool where mini kayaks and floating flamingos are available for rent. The kids’ activity area is very creative, with games such as dam ular and various board games. The breakfast buffet offered a good range of choices, although I had a better dining experience during a previous visit for work purposes. Unfortunately, room service dining was not satisfactory—the fries were soggy, the fried rice was overly oily, and the carbonara was average. There was also some confusion regarding a 20% insider discount, as we were initially informed it was applicable, but later told that the discount was only valid at Horizon Café not in room service. They should explain better :( Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and with some improvements—particularly in maintenance and food quality—it could be an even better experience.

The most noteworthy feature of this hotel is the incredibly spacious rooms. After researching all the available options in Bintulu, I can confidently say that Goldenbay Hotel offers the best value for money. I would certainly choose to stay here again on my next visit to the area. The amenities were another high point of the trip. It was a lucky coincidence that a comb was provided, as I had forgotten to pack one. Furthermore, I was impressed by the quality of the hair and body shampoos. It is rare for me to enjoy hotel-provided toiletries, but these left me feeling truly clean and lathered up well. To top it off, the rooftop offers a gorgeous view, especially during sunset. However, there were a few drawbacks during my stay. I booked two rooms; while my room was fine, the second room had significant lighting issues. Although the reception sent a technician to help, they only managed to fix one light. Even after the repair, that room remained much dimmer than mine. Additionally, the bidet in my own bathroom was leaking. It felt a bit ironic to see multiple signs encouraging guests to save water and use the bidet instead of paper when the fixture itself wasn't working properly. Lastly, the breakfast was a bit of a letdown. The selection was quite limited, and the taste was only average. If I return to this hotel in the future, I would likely book a room-only rate and find breakfast elsewhere.

Check in time is after 3pm. we arrive after 3pm. the staff inform us tat we hav make booking last min (booking is make tru trip.com since October i remember) the room was not ready when we arrive that we hav to wait. tot we hav to wait. i Dunno how the staff check after tat hav room oledy. could hav offer us another room type if there is no room available instead of blaming yr guest about last min booking there is a smell in the room, we cannot figure out what it is. location is good. right next to pullman only. lot of parking available.

Overall it was a nice stay. The hotel is in a perfect location and it’s very cosy and peaceful. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. I was accommodated in a nice room with a pool and sea view. Faiz Haslan has also shared some information about the places to visit around, which was very helpful. Breakfasts were very nice, and there was a good food variety. Chinese New Year Eve’s dinner was excellent, great food variety and delicious. It would be good to have wifi available in the room and not only in the public areas.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Roxy Beach Resort Sematan, and I can confidently say that my experience was delightful. The room was comfortable and clean, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. I particularly enjoyed the stunning view of the beach, which added a special touch to my mornings. The resort boasted excellent facilities, including a well-maintained pool and a relaxing spa. The dining options were diverse, and I was impressed by the quality of the food served. Each meal was a treat! The staff at Roxy Beach Resort were incredibly friendly and attentive. From check-in to check-out, the process was smooth and efficient, making me feel welcomed throughout my stay. All in all, my stay at Roxy Beach Resort Sematan exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway, and I certainly plan to return in the future!

The hotel’s location is very strategic, with plenty of food options and amenities within walking distance, which is a definite advantage. However, the service appears to be impacted by a shortage of staff. During both mornings at breakfast, we experienced long waits for coffee cups, juices, and water to be replenished. Cutlery setup and table clearing were also slow, resulting in guests having to take utensils from other tables or walk to the service station to get napkins, forks, and spoons. We observed similar challenges during the wedding dinner we attended. Basic services such as drink refills were often overlooked and had to be requested multiple times. Overall, while the location is excellent, improvements in staffing and service efficiency would greatly enhance the guest experience.

Overall, our stay was good and comfortable. Just a small note that the water pressure was occasionally low. Regarding the swimming pool, we understand the rules and safety concerns, but it felt quite strict. Maybe some consideration can be given for children, as they were really looking forward to using the pool. Thank you and hope to visit again.

Enjoyed the nature retreat here with the surrounding of nature sound of waterfalls, the sea wave hitting the rock and the calls of insects throughout the night Its was also an experience stay as the weather was raining throughout our stay here. Staff were super friendly and offer umbrella to us while our luggage were delivered to our rooms. Servility were seen doing their round in the night give one the security of staying here.

From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and professional. Check-in was fast and smooth. The hotel's facilities and surroundings are excellent. My room was spotless, neatly arranged with a cozy and high-quality feel. The bed was super comfortable; I relaxed completely the moment I lay down and slept soundly until morning. The room had no strange odors, and the soundproofing was effective, making the overall environment very peaceful – truly ideal for relaxing. Housekeeping was also very meticulous, making me feel well taken care of. The breakfast selection was rich and varied. Overall, this is a hotel that offers great value for money and excellent service. I highly recommend it for a vacation. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit ❤️
